A friend of mine, Rebecca Jackson Cook, made me a cassette tape of Hal back in 1982. I’m 55 years old and this is still my favorite song of all time. These lyrics are timeless, and hold a special place in my heart for all time. I think of Rebecca and her sister Janet often. I dated Janet all through HS and college, but I was young and foolish and let love walk away. so many ‘what if’s’ to think about....Rebecca still lives in Wimberley. Janet, Rebecca and I have reconnected through social media, and chat often. We all have families of our own now, but sometimes when I’m all alone and I grab my guitar or sit down at my piano, I drift back to Texas and smile.....then play this song. Sorry about rambling on your site....
Mr. Ketchum is an awesome guy! He's very nice and friendly towards his fans. His live singing voice is just as good as on his CD's. That's how talented he really is. I took my mom to see him in the mid to late 90's at a casino in Vegas (as Mr. Ketchum was her favorite and we needed some mother/son bonding). We had front row seats (able to touch the stage floor itself). Well, my mom made a friendly gesture and he pointed out to her out of the whole crowd. That's what kind of a cool guy he is.
Lucky You! Make as many copies as possible for everyone you know because it is RARE! I just found one on EBAY yesterday and can't wait to get it in the mail. I don't even know if it plays well.
