Then its off to China Islamic (chinaislamic.com/), a restaurant, to sample some very tasty food that proves that this ancient Muslim tradition is alive and well here in Southern California and gives us insight into a very rich and important part of everyday life for our large Muslim community.

Actually the woman is wrong about eating meat when there's no halal meat available. She simply could've eaten vegetables or fish since fish is not required to be slaughtered. The only when to eat haram meat is when you are in desperate circumstances where you'd die from not eating.

I am Orthodox Christian from Ethiopia. I would like to add to the point, Halal is not just restricted to muslim daitery laws. It is also a must to Coptich orthodx churchs (Ethiopian, Egyptian, Eretrian. Armenian, Indian and Syrian Orthodox church) and Jiwish Religion. Our brothers and sister in those religions follow the same Halal law when it comes to a meat from a sloughtered animal and you can load up when it comes to plant products. That is infact the reason you may get Jiwish, and orthodox chirstians in a halal restourants. Another point to add is(atlist in coptic orthodox tradition and not sure about muslim or Jews in this), this rule do not just apply for pork only. It says [All land creatures (animals like donkey, horse, pork, etc)which doesn't have a split hoof on their leg as in sheeps, ciws, goats, Impala and etc "can not be killed" for their meat nither couldn't be eaten]. If a cooking untensil, container or knife used for those list of anmals meat, now used for cows, with out proper cleaning and purifying that meat is no good. Lot of stuffs to learn hehe😹😹😹😹😹

Eating meat that is not slaugter in the halal way can never be halal. Please Read the books and check the history. Yes lissen to your ouwn words " people of the Books". Madam you need to think what you are saying.

The lady’s comment on eating non halal and saying the name of Allah on it is not correct. Halal meat needs to be slaughtered in Islamic a way before cooking or eating. Lard and gelatine and also some food contain alcohol. Only in life or death situation you can eat pork but only as a desperate situations. There is also stunned meat that is sold as halal, but it’s up to individuals to make sure that we abide by what is allowed and what is not. Our aim is to follow our religion take what is allowed and leave what isn’t.

She didn't meant it makes it Halal but said, there are opinions when you are eating from Chritian and jews and when you are not sure; you can just utter Bismillah! which is allowed in Islam as scholarly opinion and (Quran 5:5). Halal by definition means permissible! So everything that is allowed by Quran and Sunnah becomes permissible!

The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time, when you give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues… Most people usually misunderstand what halal is and what sacrificed meat dhabihah So what people should make a difference that most Muslims want to eat dhabihah meaning sacrificed meat

Shehnaz you are absolutely right just reciting Bismillah does not converts haram meat to halal. If you cannot find halal then you should abstain from eating haram I am sure you will die for not eating haram meat.

Some man named James shouldn't judge who will go to heaven or hell its for God the almighty to judge . Deann we as Muslims believe God forgives whom he wills and punishes who he wills he is the holder of all that which is good in the heavens and earth .Yet Jesus held the commandments of the Jewish laws which are similar to that of Muslims .
