Haley Strategic makes some excellent products for the "tactical" market. Their new magazine pouches were designed to be a versatile platform that could pretty much any rifle or pistol magazine that you are likely to run.
What is the 1911 Syndicate? We do a few things. We started out as a real estate company primarily targeted at serving the military/LE/shooting/hunting communities. Consider it our "day job" and we can serve you pretty much anywhere in the USA. Next we're a content producer. We kind of fell into it semi by accident, and here we are today. We try to do things a little different and have some fun. Thanks for tuning in.

G-code scorpion softshell mag pouches have been out for a long time now. Fits em all. Also, somewhat stackable and quieter. One mag pouch to fit different rifle mag pouches is not something new.

HSGI Taco pouches are bungee cord and can fit All the mags. 5.56/x39/x51/6.5/.300 It's what I've used for 3 years. Loosen the tension, put in your mag, tighten it up. Done.

G Code does the same thing in holding all kind of mags and other items. However, this appears to be a cleaner package due to the G code mags having the external shot cord.

purchased the haley strategic double magazine pouch shorty after Christmas. I have now used them in 2 local pistol matches and they are beginning to tear at the front of each pouch. They began to tear after the first match and when I reached out to customer service I was told this was normal wear. Now they have gotten to the point where the magazine it's beginning to protrude out if the holes causing the mags to not reinsert fully in the pouch and to cause more wear on the weak spots. Is this a normal occurrence?

How long did it take you to "loosen" the pouch reteinion? mines is absurdly tight. When I try to insert the mag into the pouch, the outer pandal would drag down and the material would bunch up at the bottom, making it hard to fully insert the mag.

Can you stack 2 1911 mags into a single pouch? Also, do these take up more than a single column of molle for pistol a d more than double for rifle mags? In other words is there overlap so I can't stack pouches directly next to each other?

im sure you could stack two mags if you wanted to and they have a single slot so you can have them very close to each other.

If you are only using 5.56 or x39 mags you can put them next to each other. If you plan to use 308 mags generally you need 1" spacing minimum, or one molle column.

Those multicam colors just seem...off? I was luke warm to the idea of a better pouch than Kywi. When I saw the price, I decided to keep my Kywi pouches. I like the idea of having ONE pistol pouch and ONE rifle pouch. But I never liked TACO pouches, either. Im super picky, and not in any way an "operator", so come at me, Dakota.

Nice review Chris! I will probably consider the pistol magazines pouch for my low speed security life style and the rifle magazines pouch for my desert dress up larping. Finally I can run with my AR and AK without leaving a trail of magazines on the ground. Nobody take your larp seriously when it looks like a Serbian Militia exploded behind you.....

If you take the plastic insert out of the rifle mag pouch, it will hold a Motorola perfectly. Travis demonstrates this in his video

Also it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to break in and get rid of the sound.

Chris: Yes, yes you are...lol I have tried more than once to use the tacos as a do it all pouch. I just can’t get them to be smooth and not a hot mess. Whether it’s reindexing mags, or not having the cord, or slide keeper snagging on everything, or the plastic sides not breaking, I just can’t seem to make them work the way I need them to. Doesn’t mean they aren’t good kit, but just not for me and my applications...

Hey Chris you did well on the solo video. You can tell you were a little off not having Jake there but its all good. The more you do these type of videos the more comfortable you get. Jus a suggestion do a solo video of a piece of gear you own that you're very familiar with. Something you have used a bunch and enjoy using. That way you can give some real world feedback on. Thats what people look for in a review. Keep the content coming. 🖕😎

Universal magazine pouches aren't new concepts. M1956 web gear had pouches that could hold every magazine in the US arsenal at the time. Jumping up to modern times the HSGI Taco and G-Code Scorpion mag pouches do the same thing. Travis even worked with G-Code on their holsters years back.

Also this isn't really a "new" design. It's basically a copy of an airsoft pouch some guy made here in the US made and they sell a lot of them in Europe and Asia because they are super cheap to make. Of course, everyone builds off each other so I don't hold that against Haley.

@@DaveSmith-cp5kj i think I'm going to get a JPC carrier and I might try the haley pouches on it. I really like the g code stuff though. And I figured airsoft stuff copied 'real' (for lack of a better term) stuff. It's interesting to hear it was the other way around here.

@@DaveSmith-cp5kj I've got some surplus pouches that I got because they were cheap when I first really got in to AR's a few years back. They aren't terrible. They've got pretty good retention (maybe even a little too much with pmags), but they still need the velcro strap over the top of gi mags to be secured to the point that you wouldn't have to worry about it. My buddy has the haley pouches. I do like them, but I like my g code pouches a little better.

I've herd guys buying the clips to put in the nylon pouchs and they are great except they don't work without modification to fit steel or aluminum type M4 magazines...one thing I'm fukin old as fuk , I spent my 20s and 30s humping for the Gubment...im broke down and I have done everything to save weight..Magpul magazines are Kool but heavy as hell under a full big beef injection...I have nylon pouches from AWS in Fayetteville...I run RTI mid drop Glock on a G Code molle belt and a AWS belt..ive got HSGI and G Code pouches...like a whole underwear drawer full of kit ( I go commando ) I bought a Blue Alpha molle belt and I'm going to try something new?? So try an old timey fun dispenser for pops please

They are expensive, if you look at the construction, these are extremely cheap pouches to make. Probably 60% of the total cost is the Haley Strategic branding. 20% labor since AFAIK his company makes these by hand and not CNC aside from the laser cutting like most of the major players.
