FINALLY some says what I’ve been saying forever. It’s setting everything up for the final two movies. “The calm before the storm leading to the grand finale” is the perfect way to put it
I think HBP might be the least popular movie with book fans at any rate, because SO much of the story was altered and omitted, without any obvious reasons. There’s a focus on things that undermine the story and even the relationships. And missing out on several Tom Riddle memories is a travesty. I also really dislike the portrayal of Slughorn in HBP, specifically when he’s stealing from the greenhouses. I do like Bellatrix being included in the group of Death Eaters that take over Hogwarts in the movies though. She’s the main Death Eater we hate, because of what happened in OotP. 2, 4, and 6 are my favorites in the Harry Potter series, but I think the movies severely miss the mark in 4 & 6 for my taste.
I'll admit that despite watching all the Harry Potter films years ago, this was the one I forgot about. Maybe it was because in the earlier films, I was so excited as a Harry Potter fan, that I watched it over and over again. Now that I'm older, I saw the later movies just once. Now I need to watch it again! Great video!
If they had kept further to the book story because this probably then wouldve been my favorite, easily beating prisoner of Azkaban, as its already my 2nd favorite. however the awkwardness of some scenes and how they make up some plot lines then immediately drop them is what i dislike.
I bought the DVD a few months ago just for the experience. Also, am I the only one who noticed that Voldermort/Tom Riddle doesn't appear in Prisoner of Azkaban? It's the only movie without You-Know-Who!
Yea I realised that he wasn’t in the prisoner of Azkaban like yesterday or the day before and I was like oh that’s a nice change of pace in a way without Voldemort/tom/youknowwho
It's interesting when you say that it stands next to PoA, because they are the worst movies in my opinion. They have nothing to do with their respective books counterparts, they changed the books too much, and the "vibes" in the movie are different from what you read in the books. PoA is one of the happiest Harry Potter years in Hogwarts. He wins the Quidditch cup, he learns defensive spells... Yet in the movie it looks like Harry Potter meets depression. HBP is the LAST happy year at hogwarts. I can't count how many situations I started laughing, happy for Harry in love with Ginny, his teenage friends enjoying life, they talked, laughed, made jokes. Where is it in the movie? Is there any fan like me? That detests the movies 3 and 6 for diverging from the books?
For me it’s movies 4 & 6 that get me irritated. Movie 4 goes out of its way to ruin what in my opinion is one of the best mysteries in the HP series. Movie 6 adds scenes that weren’t in the book that literally detract from the story and the relationships. Like the scene with Harry and the waitress in the movie replacing the scene with the Dursleys from the book. It doesn’t add to the story because the waitress is not seen again, it undermines Harry’s romance with Ginny, and takes away an important relationship development from the Dursleys. Also adding the scene with Bellatrix attacking the Burrow and it going up in flames instead of giving us the other Tom Riddle memories was just so pointless. It would have been better to at least show the memories that set up the locket and the Hufflepuff cup as horcruxes.
Exactly the same here! 🙋♀️. PoA is WAY too dark. I remember going to see it in the movies and thinking we had jumped to the feel of OotP. And this one…I don’t even have words for how much they messed it up. It’s meant to set up the next two movies but it leaves out all of the pertinent information to do the setting up. 🤦♀️
Gotta say I disagree, I have a really hard time watching 6 and 7 part 1. So much of the dialogue is stiff and awkward, I get that people say it’s because they’re teens but that justification doesn’t change that it’s hard to watch. I find them visually unappealing as well, I’m not asking for the colour and vibrancy of the first two films, but the later films are almost so dreary that it becomes unrealistic and takes me out of the movie. It’s hard to explain but it’s so dark and monotone that it stops looking like a real world these characters live in and more like movie sets designed to be dramatic (which they obviously are but you get my point). None of this is to say I think you’re wrong, it’s just personal preference but yeah, I’m not rushing to rewatch 6 any time soon.
@@Follow-The-Spiders they use don't have the book charm. Take hunger games 1 and 2 which match the energy and, imo 2, exceeds the book. Also the maze runner movies are better than books and I don't think it's close. Let's hope the series captures the rich world in a way the films could not.
@@alexandersims1613 well the books are definitely better but to say they're trash is too much bro, you're being too hard on them maybe your love for the books blinds you towards what the movies did good which is quite a lot
