Welcome back to the channel everyone! I've been feeling inspired by all the old-school 2000s shooters I've been playing for the channel lately and figure I should play the best of them all, Half-Life 2! I kinda went through a phase in high school of trying to track down and play as many "classic" games as I could, and so wound up playing the whole Half-Life series. This one is particularly near and dear to me, up there with the all time greats.
In the intro, our protagonist Doctor Gordon Freeman is awakened from stasis by the enigmatic G-Man to discover a changed world. With the Earth now occupied by the Combine, an interdimensional alien empire, Dr. Freeman finds some old friends have established a resistance movement and tries to link up with them at their base, Black Mesa East. Things don't go as planned though, as with so many games, and Gordon's new adventure begins.
