During the 2023 Cotton Bowl, where Ohio State played Missouri, The Ohio State University Marching Band performed their "Tribute to Led Zeppelin" show from earlier in the season.
@@AndricKelton The "donut and the hole" concept. I remember, as a precocious 16 year old telling Dr Droste they should have 6-10 Bach 50s alongside those new Bach 36s they went to when slides came back in 1980. He was amused at me, what a nice man!
@@roberthoffhines5419 thats cool. Do you know when Bass trombones joined the band? I do research and can't figure that our. Also now we use large bore straight Conns and Conn 110H basses
Apparently the goal is essentially be the opposite of the mbandfan account all those years ago. The whole point is to block out croud noise at the expense of volume and clarity of low voices and mid range causing that tin-like sound
@@DavidRungart Yes, recording a band like this from that vantage point is not terribly difficult. Either get one of those little Zoom recorders, with either two directional microphones or some kind of directional shield. Alternatively, go back to the old arrangement of having several microphones on high stands along the side of the pitch. Did this for four years with a high school band - it's neither difficult nor expensive.
I just wonder if it just Halen's music or if it is anything he ever did. Something like solo in beat it. -i am sure if i watch i would find out but not now.-
Bet that the band preformed as a unit. Probably because none of them quit on the team like the pre Madonna's on the football team. All of those who quit please don't sign with my Buffalo Bills, don't need any quitters on the NFL level.
