Now that I have completed 20 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy am I noticing any improvement in my radiation proctitis? What about other improvements? And how are my ears and eyes doing with HBOT side-effects? My HBOT treatments are 90 minutes daily at 2.2 atm breathing 100% oxygen.

I received the same treatment for bladder cystitis at Mayo Clinic, MN. 35 treatments and all is well, overall. Some latent spot bleeding, but nothing like before the treatments. My vision changed markedly and I was told to wait up to two months post treatment before considering any vision prescription changes. Excellent description of the treatment. Glad you are seeing positive results.

I believe I've seen all of your videos Paris every single one! And I do like them very much. However: it seems that every treatment you had you had side effects! Serious side effects! WTF!! I feel so bad for you Paris cuz you seem like such a nice dude. Listen to your video and some like yours I am terrified to start treatment. I am planning on proton therapy I am 70 years old and have a difficult time peeing at night already. Hard to start dribble and go at least six times a night! And I've heard that radiation will increase the problem that I already have. Thoughts?

Thanks Rick. Quite a few people have side-effects from the various cancer treatments so I am not sure that my experience with that is so unusual. And I can only tell you about my experience with Proton Therapy- there were spasms of either the bladder and/or the urethra and lots of urinary urgency. I don't know with the issues you already have if the radiation will exacerbate them- but definitely ask your radiation oncologist directly rather than going by what you have heard from others. If your prostate is enlarged from the cancer and that is pressing on the urethra and making urination difficult then killing the tumor with radiation and removing the pressure could help your situation. Only your doctor can tell you what to expect in your particular case. With that information you can make the best decision.
