This happened back in October of 2019. Was pretty surprised when I tuned in to Hali's stream while he was showing Joel the track. Halifax / halifax / halifax / tsm_halifax
There's a few people in the comments who think Joel reacted negatively to the song but that really can't be further from the truth. I've been a fan/follower for many years, so having my mix complimented and getting to interact with him through Hali's chat genuinely means so much. Nothing he said came off as downplaying or negative to me.
We also know he can be a lil harsh with his words, so lot's of people don't understand it as well as us xD great music man (not just this song obv) keep up the great tunes
Why are they downplaying it so hard? Literally a fucking hit dropped on a dime, not even an record label, just one dude. Now that’s really fucking impressive.
I mean i get it, maybe shouldnt be downplaying it that much considering doc is not a musician and it was mostly improv, but joel does run a studio and is very critical on music(they fact he said it was mixed well is a big compliment to the producer by itself) But i think he does that because there are millions of unheard musicians out there that do everything themselves from producing, mixing, mastering, and even vocals, and many of them aren’t even heard of, while most of the rest aren’t very popular at all and can barely live off of jt. He knows just how shitty the music industry is and how its all marketing
It's a producer thing. We're our own worst critics. Weirdly, I'd say he was bigging it up, mocking the sample but complementing the mix and chord progression which is a big deal.
Purely because many talented people are so competitive they don't want to acknowledge other talents that might rival them. You see it all the time in music business (think rap-beefs with artists that are all worth millions calling the other dude trash despite them all having made it)
I think he didn't say it like that. But the fact that uploading stuff for those two platforms is way different. Since you need a publisher to go into something like spotify or apple music
@@irusu. you dont. You can buy 12$ a month on soundclound and release anything on spotify apple itunes pandora youtube iheartradio everywhere. I couldnt believe even Deadmau5 didnt know this
@@irusu. Nah, the first thing that when to his head was "plagiarism", "stolen idea", "copyright". But u need skill and resource to bring an idea to fruition.
Haunter35 Gaming Im a big mello fan, but Joel is right. I wouldn't be listening to house or anything edm, etc if it weren't for deadmau5 because he understands the genre so well. True artist. Mello sold out/strayed too much from what makes him good.
@@EFE_sopita I've heard it and meh. Not bad but nothing particularly memorable. Renaissance Boy by Galimatias is album of the year/decade/infinity. Literal audio perfection.
Imo, this is my favorite thing to ever happen live. Taking those sound bites and making this banger so fast just blows my mind. Insane and a very rare amazing thing. Dude deserves respect for this. It's so sick. People might downplay it, but clip and create something for fitting than this is the same stream and then I might agree
As the top comment says, this really is a masterpiece. I was blown away when I saw this. And things don't shock me to that extent. I couldn't believe this was made that fast. INCREDIBLE! deadmau5 just needed the whole context to appreciate how awesome it was and Doc's pure happiness. :)
Lol I love this song an all the others that doc is in also. The man the legend the DrDisrespect needs to come back I miss him an everyone poking fun at each other jst like gaming should be lol
Dude can I just make 1 suggestion that I think a lot of people would appreciate? Can we get a video of you telling us the process of what happened the day you made this? Like, did you hear the beat in your head as soon as doc said "give em the love"? Its so perfect and you pumped the song out so quick and I just don't get how it all happened.
im guessing this JplusUno fellow has many wonderful compositions in his back pocket and just had a feeling when he heard Docs beautiful voice. Doc was the muse, the Mona Lisa of music if you will
@@especiallycocaine9031 yeah pretty much this is it.. either he had this already composed or has multiple samples/patches ready to go and just mixed them together (this goes pretty fast when using a groove box or sampler)
Cool clip though it's a little odd how DeadMau5 is seemingly dissing the vocals without realizing that first off Dr DisRespect is making that shit up off the top of his head whilst playing CoD and and singing randomly and not in the studio with official lyrics, vocal melody, chorus and official shit planned out. It's literally the Doc singing randomly while having fun but he wants to Dis the vocals when even with all the improv situations happening, they're better than a lot of official recordings. Does DeadMau5 ever realize this at some point afterwards?o
I think there is some untapped potential for these 80s sounding chill/house style songs. I agree with Joel, the vocals leave much to be desired, but the vibe is certainly there.
the vocals were ripped from a dr disrespect stream, and dr disrespect wasn't intending for it to be vocals for a song so im sure theres a break to be given here
Deadmau5 has always had record labels before and they deal with that kind of stuff. He started his label Mau5trap as well but i'm pretty sure he have people behind it helping out with all the ''technical stuff'' for releases.
He makes good music thats a fact. But also, he's an asshole most of the times, no matter what he doing. He's like a tired grandpa that's in a world that he hates being in. I really love some of his tracks, but his personality.... not really.
gave you some constructive feedback on the new song alleyways. maybe its better on your page, i copy paste it: @JplusOne good one, nice soundscape. but also constructive production critic here: - you edited the breath completely out @ around 0:38 in this version. suggestion: try it with a steep 's'-shaped fade instead. it'll give it more life and natural feel too it even if it not so pronounced. out brain does the rest, trust me. (automate the gain of (only) the breath to the reverb to smoove it) - the gain stage starting second vocal part @ 1:15 is off. try use a sidechain of the voice signal to the baseline to open it up a lil. its cramped. drums are to loud too. the instrumental is riding like a train over everything. - 'but i'm still in controoool', its in the take, BUT try stretch 'but i'm' to make it sit more in line and bring it on beat that its not feeling so rushed. [the gentleman singing is in control lol - not rushed to finish or nervous to dont fk up punch in]. dunno what sw you use and vocal editing isnt easy at all, in fact its championsleague (but you got it to make it), but with a lil time and melodyn you'll get imho the best artefact free results [next izotope and/or serato p'n't pro]. dont wanna smartass, just trying to help to step your game further up and communicate what i'm hearing. hope it helps good luck man
@@zachgg9198 so just to understand you correctly. plz claryfy, you give the advise to a stranger to not give adivse to strangers and mark that narcissistically as the universally global accepted standard 'zach r's rule#1'? did i sum that up more or less correctly? can only imagine how #3, #4 and #5 look like. maybe get a hobby or smthg? smh 1.) i didnt lecture nobody 2.) i simply gave an advise. for free. useful and technically very correct. based on real world experience. i think thats really decent that i took the time to write it - so you basically flame me for being helpful and unselfish 3.) i tried to implement as much as usefull information and be as specific as possible that its ready to instantly apply to future projects. 4.) advise is totally up to the recipient to decide what to do with it. try it/insta apply it/dont fk wit it at all/think about it - endless options 5.) if you really think that good advise is only possible if you personally know somebody or from your personal lector you will have a hard time to ever read a book. right? if you disagree with the technical adivse per se - we can discuss if you want to enforce 'zack r rules' on the internet that are on top of that fundamentally flawed - plz grow up, stop liking your own comments and leave me alone. thx
@@Ccubed92 why is that your concern? i got this link sent what i think about it - you dont need to know the background story. i didnt type it for you that should be clear, eh? maybe you just have fundamental reading problems and thats why its so hard for you, who knows, idc.
Dead mouse is kind of a tool who needs to get humble. DAMN BRO YOU CAN MIX 100000000 songs - but half of them sound the same and are 80% repeating themselves. This song was made in like 30 mins from start to finish and it’s just good. Don’t be jealous, Jesus. Someone needs to get relevant again 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 gottemmmmm
Well take into consideration that deadmau5 did compliment it on where it was well done. Deadmau5 is a sound savant with his mixes and makes really professionally mixed music. He understands sound creatively and technically on a level a lot of people don’t even slightly hear or understand. He is also a straight up honest and straightforward person and is critical of things as he is a perfectionist in many ways. He complimented the song when he could have done a comparative analysis using himself as a baseline and just ripped on the song super hard. The song is great and I like it and love doc a lot. He is top tier streamer. But the song sounds like what it is. A song whipped together in the matter of hours. As amazing as it is do you think deadmau5 is going to change who is at the core and lie and gas up something for what? So people don’t get mad at him for not being supportive enough? He didn’t even have to listen to it while he is trying to relax and play games. Music is his job. Making him partake in work while relaxing is kinda rude. The song is good. But it’s not as good as you are saying it is. And I say that with as much love for doc as you have. Just be a little more realistic? Doesn’t make Joel a tool for being honest. That’s some fragility right there dude.
@@thirtythirtythirtythirty I’m not reading this. I assume you made some valid points because of the effort spent. I’ll give props and say have a great day my guy! 🤷♂️🙄😁
What is it you want me to read?...you think he stole a Foreigner song? You're really grasping at straws with that conclusion!! Get your ears checked buddy....they are not the same song!
@@MyIronman8 instead of saying "read the other comment above" what fucking comment?? how about answering the QUESTION! what song??????????????????? jesus christ
