Halland, sails into legendary tier as the most powerful pan European destroyer to enter the game. She is equipped for nearly any situation she may encounter, with powerful guns and the 2nd highest DPM at LT for DDs, ultra-fast and long-range torpedoes, as well as the strongest AA of any DD in Legends. She does have some drawbacks for all this firepower though, including a very low top speed of 35 knots, no engine boost consumable (or smoke), and poor maneuverability. Smaland can choose between the heal and a radar, which is far more useful IMO. She has two less torpedoes than Halland but I think they reload just a bit faster. Smaland also gets a unique speed boost that only lasts for one minute but increases her speed by 30%, compared to the French 20% and Italian 25%. Overall Smaland is definitely more geared towards hunting down other DDs while Halland is a torp boat with good guns. A bit disappointed since Smaland offers such a unique playstyle and really should have been legendary tier and kept its heal in a separate slot. Will get her nonetheless

as a Swede i just loved the Östergötland, just recently got the Småland and just the idea that Halland delivers on the very same way as ÖG and Småland makes me want to get her even faster, might make legendary tier fun again amonst all the potatoes

Love the video, I'm super excited for her. My average xp in Smalland is 2300 after 100 battles. And Halland just seems like a solid evolution. Can't wait to see her in my port for Valentines day 2024

I've had terrible luck man. I'm 2 and 5 in her. Top of team on all but one loss, where I blundered into torps early match. Ugh. It's a solid boat, quite good in fact, I've just had bad luck (and a sick potato play ha)

Good review. I’m looking forward to this ship as I love the line once you got past Visby. I’ll use Stig with Bey. After that it’s either Atago or Yukikaze for inspirations. Love to destroy aircraft.

It strikes me how the line is called pan European even though it is consisted exclusively of Swedish destroyers. Let alone the fact that all nations have their own voice lines except the Swedish and the Dutch of course. It just showcases boredom on their part, to actually stay consisted on an original concept. This is especially enraging if you realize that there are the VOICELINES from the pc which they can easily add, for Friesland at least. As a CC, it would mean a lot if you could point that out to wargaming if possible. At any case, great video mate, keep it up!

Hey Derka, Thanks for the review. I've really enjoyed this line of DD's, got the Smalland and am researching the Halland. Question for you...relative to its tier, how does the Halland compare to Smalland?

I'm sad to report I dont yet have smalland. Still on Ostergotland. They looks quite similar tho. I think smalland only has 8 torps, a triple launcher and quintuple. Apologies on not knowing the other differences

⁠@@DerkaGamesin her switch to Legends, Smaland actually gained DFAA in a unique slot and has to choose between radar or heal, which hurts but the radar is worth it IMO. Definitely feels like Halland should have been the t8 and Smaland should be legendary tier and replace its DFAA with the heal.

Torp detect / (torp speed * 2.6) Ex: 1800m / ( 86kts * 2.6) = 8.05

You say "you'll notice you don't get a speed boost" - activates engine boost, lol... so can i swap engine boost for radar? Really wish i could preview legendary ships before unlock... also i think you were probably using W.Sims that game because you had 22.6k HP after showing 19k something on the graph. Ah yes the loss with 4 caps ribbons, that's a rare one, even more when you're at 2k and the other DD is 1.7k base Anyway Halland looks interesting, but i don't think the upgrade is worth it compared to the Smålland as i said in your last video, and i still need to finish the Skåne that i completly forgot with the x5, we can't have radar and heal though no ? Because DFAA is useless rn Btw hope you'll manage to put that Henry video this week xD

"Perceptive" its the half halo looking symbol right above my ship, it will indicate which grid square the nearest enemy is

@@DerkaGames hey man. Their loss. I’m perfectly happy with the free commanders. I think I got a couple event commanders from crates like Mordoff. But I would’ve paid my money for atago for the HE fire build and I didn’t know about the torp detection range but that would be a nice bonus. I have schiliffen and Des Moines running right now but as soon as one is done I think I’m gonna get Halland going. Seems like the most unique. Then Colombo. But I have some grinding to do because they changed the bureau now. Idk if you’ve checked but now you need the tier 7 ship for these projects when before it was only up to tier 6.

Exactly, he actually did mention alternates, plus you can't expect a CC to know your commander roster. Also there is wowsbuild or w/e where the player base upload builds they use. Honestly though, i always recommend running the ship in training rooms or AI battle to get a feel for it, then use inspirations from commanders that you have to fit the ship closer to your play-style. Finally, IMO commanders are more valuable than ships, and are the true end-game in WoWsL, so if you ever are going to spend $$, most of the time i would recommend commanders over ships, especially since they have nerfed the Weimar and Royale (they have also reworked commanders in the past, but i still hold more value for a high-level commander/inspiration than a shiny new ship.) I still think Daring is leagues above Halland. Halland may not even get the 2nd place of best LT DD. Also compared to Smaland, Halland doesn't seem to be an upgrade at all.

I would say that this ship and this entire line is an escort ship. Your job is to escort battleships keep destroyers off them, and help with a AA protection

I wish the z44 campaign was actually the z42 with 10 105mm guns .z44 the guns are so weak u cant do much ans u dont have sonar either. Hopefully we get dalarna the halland with 3 turrets The z44 feels like an uptierd z35 with no sonar.

The design of this line went so downhill after the osta. The ship sits so high out of the water compared to other DDs it’s dumb. Easiest DD to shoot at and get consistent damage. Makes it harder to use the guns often enough without getting punished and that’s the part of these ships that most people underuse as is. The smaaland should be top dog at teir 8 but it’s not even close imo with the sumner

Yeah this ship gets absolutely murdered when spotted. I took a couple 10-12 k AP salvos from BBs at LONG range (one a Musashi with its 🗑 accuracy).
