Hello friends! Here the video and my doubts regarding best way to clean the diesel tank! May I use a water pressure cleaning? The tank will be open for a while! Please drop a comment below ! Many thanks!👍🏻
Oh yes! We got snow today in the southern part of Zealand in Denmark. But hopefully the last for this winter. now comes spring and it's time to make our Hallberg Rassy Monsun ready for our first season with our new purchase 😊👍
I used a pressure washer to clean my diesel tank. Worked great! The trick is to get the tank thoroughly rinsed and dry so you do not leave any detergent or water behind.
+Michael Arthur thx very much to drop a line and watch my sailing vlog Sea4see! Yes confirm work great! And I use also the TPS as degreaser! The only problem was to reach the place behind of baffles .... need to investigate more if I clean more!
I hope you succeed. It is very likely that pressurizing with water will work well and you will be able to clean your tank. Send me news because I'm curious.
I think only with water the cleaning will not be total, but if there is no other way to reach the other side of the tank is worth just trying. But remember that this pressure should not be too great. Just enough to remove the waste.
You can use a pressure washer if you not have easy access for hand cleaning. Using steam may also prove more effective in combination with high concentrations of detergent mix. Ideally top the tank up with water and lots of detergent and use the steam supply to boil the tank. Of course that is a lot of contaminated water to get rid of.😳 Tool hire companies hire out industrial units here in UK not sure your location.
I really do not know if you can use pressurized water. In my tank, I only removed the most apparent residues. I confess it was not what I wanted it to be, but I could not make a better repair.
Miguel Arcanjo Filho for sure I already used aceton and I scrub away many shit inside but the problem is that I got the buffler that divide the tank in 2 part is impossible to reach the other part! For this reason I want try with pressure water! What you think?
@@sea4see hello, where did you find the inspection hole and the tubes that are going in? Do you also have video from the cleaning itself? thx Geert HR312 674
Hey mate thx ! The inspection hole and tubes I did for myself help by a friend that copy the shape and length of hose piece ok cake job! Need to find a welder or same shop that work the stainless steel!
@@sea4see thank RU-vid very much for your very good video's. Totdat I cleaned the tank.. was shot work and a bit different than in your HR312.. here there are separations, so I cleaned what I could..
Would you be able to vacuum that other tank with a vacuum cleaner? Also would not be a perfect cleaning but before pressurizing with water I think it is worth trying to remove as much waste as possible. But all this is just hypothesis. My sailboat's tank is small (120 liters) and therefore I have no experience in doing this kind of work.
😬hello! sorry Miguel for late reply... no I can't reach the other tank..pressurize water will be my first option.. i try to clean as much as possible...this friday!!

I don't think you have a shortcut in cleaning the tank there. :-) Whipe with a lot of old rags first and finally wash with dishwashing liquid from your local supermarket...
Scramasax thx for write! Did you think no it will work? The tank is divided in 2 pets by a steel wall and is impossible to reach.. I already used the acetone to clean and rags but still shit on the back! So for this reason I want use the pressure water.. what you think?
Better than nothing of course. Use a model where you can mix washing agent to the spray may be... STEAM cleans pretty effectively allmost everything too.
