As a singer all my life , I can appreciate this sweet collaboration. My husband thought it was too much singing at the same time.. But I explained to him, " its like having a bunch of guys jam out on guitars doing different things.. some leads some choruses.. whatever sounds good ". He then said .. " oh , I understand! Cool ! ". These ladies are all talented and admire them for using their gifts for the Kingdom of God. !!!

They really change this Cohen song into a very soulfull worship song... even the lyric unchanged... the Spirit gathered them...Amazing...

alright for those who say this isn't a Christian song. the first is about the story of David. he committed adultery and had the husband sent to the front lines of the battle to die so that he could take her as his wife. After all was said he repented from a cold and broken place in his life and praised God with his hallelujah. the second verse is about Samson and Delilah. The Lord gave Samson insurmountable strength but was given one file, never cut his hear or he'll lose all of his strength. so Delilah was sent to figure out how Samson got his strength through devious and flirtatious ways and like a man Samson fell deep into her trap of temptation and cut his hair, thus the lyrics she tied you to her kitchen chair and held you down and cut her hair. At that moment, he was at the coldest and most broken point of his life at that point he asked God for one last feat of strength to take down the columns and kill the people along with him. so two stories right out of the Bible in two verses in this song. if that's not Christian idk what is. Also, God created sex. yes you heard me right. God created sex to be done within the confines of marriage. we as humans and sinners abuse it and have sex in ways God created it not to be done. However, at when we are cold and broken and repent God forgives us. Therefore, allowing us to show his love. so yes it might be about sex a little bit but it's also a song that is very Christian.

It is a shame to see how many still believe in the great secular/sacred divide. All things belong to God. These women of God recognize that the heart of a person struggles and often reaches the pit of deep despair. You who are condemning them for this song fail to realize that non believers will see this and then it will inspire them to look up more songs by these women. We have to be real as Christians. Sometimes Hallelujah comes from a dark and cold place. It's not always a happy one but one that the soul utters because it has to. Because it knows no other way to cry unto the Lord. Be real not judgmental. This story displays men of the bible who faced real downfalls and in the mist cried out to God. Sex is a real thing and it was created by God. It's not evil. Lust is and it broke these men. That's what the song is saying. Don't miss the forest for the trees here people. God can speak through any music. Often He speaks more through "secular" music than through self-proclaimed "Christian music". Just because it carries the label and sounds like worshipping doesn't mean it is. These is a song about soul searching. There is nothing evil in that. The devil doesn't deserve so much credit here. Y'all are crediting him with something that is not his. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

Am I the only person who cares that this is not a Christian song? If you read the lyrics, it is clearly about sex and heartbreak....Love is a cold and broken hallelujah?" when we say "hallelujah" we are praising Jesus who's love is anything but cold and broken so I am very disappointed not only to see these Christian artists singing this song at a worship event, but also the comments about how God is praising them for this song. Bottom line, it's not a song that is in any way worshipping Jesus and I dont think it's something He would be proud of. Not to mention the writer Leonard Cohen, is a self proclaimed Buddhist.
