When we first heard this sequel was having the whole original timeline erased, and that Laurie has a daughter and granddaughter, my first thought was that Ben Tramer was the dad. Couldn't wait to hear Brad say it.

I like how in this one, the cops basically lock Haddonfield down as soon as they realize Michael is running amok.

One I missed out on due to...personal reasons. I decided to watch this one because you recently did "Halloween Kills", and I double featured this movie with the sequel last night (in 2022). I really dug this movie, I have to say David Gordon Green did a great job with this movie. I especially loved all nods to the 1978 movie, way to show respect to the original movie. I also loved the bits of humor they put in, like the kid's reaction to seeing Michael Myers for the first time, priceless.

They really should've kept Dr. Sartain alive for the sequels. He was the anti-Loomis. Like, imagine if Van Helsing was evil.

I was genuinely surprised by this movie. Despite some incredibly silly moments and writing, and coming off the heels of the ridiculously over the top previous movies, this one was surprisingly restrained and didn't go completely over the top with the gore, swearing, cheesiness, etc. I just wish it could have been more tone consistent. It felt like it was trying to be both a serious and a campy film at the same time.

Well, that's all the Halloween films accounted for... except one. There's a certain movie set on Halloween that's practically a collage of the holiday, and it has nothing to do with a famous white-masked murderer. It's time, Brad. Gotta go for it, man. You gotta review.... Trick 'r Treat.

I actually like the No route I don’t understand why nearly everyone hates “Season of the Witch”.

I just watched the movie for the first time and then came here to watch this video. Honestly, I didn't think it was that good of a movie. It wasn't scary, there was no suspense or tension, it was just Michael walking around the neighborhood killing people at random. Even the people who we somewhat met earlier (Allison's friends) were killed off so fast and so expectedly that it had no impact. Cameron dropping off the face of the earth after the party scene was odd, and Dr. Sartain doing a 180 and then suddenly getting killed himself was just bizarre. And finally, my biggest gripe: Laurie spent 40 years preparing for this showdown, and then she acts like she has no idea what she's doing! Stand by the door so he can bust through and grab me? Ok, sure! Have an electrical system to completely light up the outside yard, but yet walk around pitch black rooms so I can't see my hair in my face? Why not! Train with guns my entire life and stock an arsenal in my basement, but then just start a fire to kill Michael and not actually blow his head off? Ok, what's the worst that could happen! In other words, the movie felt like a mess to me. Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot...what was the point of the two characters that went to see Michael and Laurie in the beginning? Did they actually contribute anything? I thought maybe they would at least kickstart the plot, but really, Michael would have gotten transferred and escaped anyway, and Laurie would have found out and everything would have played out exactly the same, right? What purpose did they serve?

The sheer degree to which the new psychiatrist guy sounds like the original Loomis is fucking with me deeply. I dead-ass thought he WAS Loomis, just with a different actor, until Laurie said "the new Loomis." My brain just skipped over his name.

i'm glad they finally did away with "kids can't get hurt/killed in horror movies." before, every time a tense/suspenseful scene would happen involving a kid, that was the cue to go to the bathroom or get snacks because you knew nothing was going to happen. and back in older movies, a dog/cat/pet meant "that'll be the first kill" but nowadays a lot of movies are having the animals get away and the people die instead, although i think they're slowly going into the "we know the dog won't die" territory just like with "we know the kid won't die so get on with it."
