Ugh, I HATE the feeling of your critter escaping. Peanut escaped once, and I’m pretty sure Sprinkles did, too. Great video, and I loved the spooky music in the background. Also cool to see that you can find good items for your enclosure at Goodwill :)

I don’t recommend to change out ALL of the bedding for every holiday makeover. It can be very stressful to your hamster and they won’t have a familiar scent left behind

Yup, you have to keep your eyes on hammies every second as they are escape artists. I had mine fit thru a piece of cardboard that was only 1" square! I was like...Holy Smokes Mr. Cupcake! 🤔

Great hamster care. I use a thin layer of Aspen on the bottom of my enclosures because it helps absorb the urine and ammonia which is not good for their lungs :) You are doing a great job. Good to see 😊

When my hamster escaped (Flower) she mated with her brother who had escaped a couple of months before she did - they were in separate cages - 2 weeks after we found Flower underneath the floorboards with a dead mouse in her nest that she had made, she had 5 babies, 4 survived but 2 of them were disabled because they were inbred, their dad was also their uncle, I kept 2 of the babies ( the disabled ones ). Lol

Omg girllll you might not see this but like my hamster Luna escaped too! So we built a giant cage for her and kept her in the garage, it didn’t have a top(we used blankets) and the next morning she was gone! We looked everywhere and gave up hoping she will come out and she did 2 days later

My hamster escaped 5 days ago😭i was so sad also the wether is cold now and i didnt want her to freeze or die from hunger. I looked everywhere multi times a day. Then little miss decided to show up in the bathroom after 5 days, she made a hole in the wall. I looked there too but only saw rocks probably there was a place where she squished in😅anyway i was so happy shes back. I gave her food, water, she bathed, run in her wheel and fullen her cheecks ready to go back to her journey😅oh yeah she has a bold spot on her neck i think she pushed herself to ger out🥺

Omg, so glad you found your little guy! Did you figure out how he got out? I feel like I hear about hamsters escaping detolfs all the time for some reason! I don’t know how they do it though!

You ruined his burrows 😭 sorry not trying to sound rude. I know everyone does clean the whole cage but I recommend just getting a little spoon and scoop out the wet bedding and dirty bedding but leave his burrows

When both of my guinea pigs escaped in the winter time and got out of the house, they went underneath our decking ( We had to smash up the decking... )

Just saying ofc your hamsters gonna escape if there’s no roof on the cage! And also you shouldn’t clean out the whole thing because that gets rid of all his scents! Besides that good job for doing your research. :)

My hamster is an escape artist so I got a Midwest critter nation and he cannot escape it!

Ooofff one time my Guinea pig escaped my hold and fell down into a box. I was so scared as I realized it and I was shocked and I know the moment you don't wanna accept he escaped.

dont get red all your bedding get rid of the soiled bedding but great job on the cage
