Halloween Shopping At Target, Costume Try On & Finishing Up The Nursery! | Home Vlog!

In today's home vlog we start our day by installing the carseat in the car. We're in the last 2 months of the pregnancy so we wanted to start getting the final stuff ready for the baby. It's such an exciting time! :) Then we head out to Target, Homegoods and Michael's Craft Store for some Halloween shopping! We started out at Michael's and bought way too much stuff for our pumpkin party that we're having in a few weeks. We looked at all the Halloween and spooky decor and then we headed over to Homegoods to see what they had for the season and bought even more pumpkin stuff lol. We had some lunch at Bonefish Grill, which was delicious, before heading to Target. We realized that we probably didn't even need to go to Michael's, Target had all the same stuff and some even better stuff for cheaper or the same price. Now we know for next time! We checked out the Halloween aisle and tried on some costumes and looked at the baby costumes and Disney costumes. Everything was either super weird and didn't make sense or it was super cute haha. They also had some really cool Halloween home decor and party decorations! We can't wait to decorate for the season and for the pumpkin party! Then we head home and Tim finished the nautical shelf he was making, it turned out really nice! So now we're 99% done with the nursery, we can't wait to show you the final tour of the baby's room in the come home vlogs! We hope you had fun shopping with us and finishing up the nursery. You can always go to your local fire department to be absolutely sure the car seat is secure. I know the one where I live does that. Also, yay Target vlog!

IDreamofVintage not all fire departments have CPSTs on staff or have any training in car seats. The best thing to do is to find a CPST near you

Michael's always has a 40% coupon on their app or website and the cashier will scan it from your phone at checkout. The funny thing is, the price will go down to the regular price Target or Walmart has for the same product. Also, you basically have to purchase each item separately if you use the 40% discount. I guess it's only worth using if you are near a Michael's and don't want to go from store to store. Or, like Jen said, just go to Target first.

I’m sure people have many options on this, but when my son was an infant, I put him in the middle back seat because it is safer, not being right next to the door, just a thought. Have fun getting ready for your blessing to arrive! You’re going to be excellent parents!! Actually, you already are!!! He’s a lucky boy!!!❤️

I remember them saying the middle was the safest but my youngest is 18. Not sure if it has changed but I still think it would be the safest place in an accident.

Yep, middle great if you only have one kiddo to seat. You can also get a mirror for above him that will reflect his face to your mirror, so you can see little one if the canopy is obstructing your view. :). Pretty cheap and easy to install, don’t need to go spendy on a mirror with a light, they don’t hold battery at all....learned that the hard way.

One thing I highly recommend for your backseat is to get a full, washable cover for the seat. There will be so many spilled things in your backseat and having the washable cover under the car seat will make your life so much easier. I agree on the carvable foam pumpkins are so easy to store from year to year. If you do carve real pumpkins you can spread vaseline along any cut service or use a spray mixture of bleach/water to keep the mold from appearing.

just check with the car seat manufacturer to see if it allows for anything to be put underneath the seat. Some car seats can't have anything under it.

Jen, thank you for sharing the images of your baby moving. I had twin boys 21 years ago and then a third boy 13 years ago and honestly I loved the feeling of being pregnant and feeling my babies move inside of me. It’s something hard to explain but I am sure you understand it. We are blessed for experiencing this miracle of life. When baby moves like that make sure Dad uses both hands and touches baby and talks to him....baby will learn to soothe and calm down when daddy speaks to him. It’s a beautiful way to begin that amazing bond. Congratulations to you both and may Gods blessing be with you all!

i recommend taking a car seat safety class and cpr at your local hospital.. also have the car seat checked by your car seat inspector at your local police station.

The car seat is safest in the middle anyways in case of a tbone from either side. it's not as convenient for sure, but if it keeps them safer!

Yeah, in America there are maybe a few restaurants you have to dress up for, but for probably like 90% of restaurants here it's normal to just wear a t-shirt and jeans. When I studied abroad in London our professors warned us that we'd be going some places like that as a class, and so I packed like all of my fancy clothes to prepare for it, haha. My suitcase was so heavy with my attempts at fancy clothing!

From one dad to another - fasten the base to the anchor points. pull the belt tight. You need to put your weight on the base by sitting on the base . pull the belt again until it is tight. When finished the base should not move at all. Also we put the base on the passenger side of the vehicle. That way you can reach back and grab a pacifier or toy or whatever fell out that is causing the baby to cry. That is how I do it.

Plus passenger side is less likely to be hit in an accident so passenger is safest then middle then drivers side last

NO !!! Never sit on the base. You can crack it. I'm becoming a car seat tech and when I went to the fire station they told me to never do that ! Safest place is in the middle.

@@MsLilacLover1 obviously I disagree with you. Most people cannot apply enough force to the base to keep it in tolorance without sitting or putting your knee into it. If it cracks it's better to find out now because that's a defective unit. I do agree the middle is the safest but most difficult spot

And just a tip that helped us, you may want to get a seat protector to put under the car seat. It does help save the seat underneath it.

It’s recommended that you don’t put anything under a car seat, as it can affect the movement of the car seat and it’s base

@@jennyboosh I researched before my daughter was born, and it depends on seat manufacturers and what kind of mat is safe with the seat. We used one recommended from the company our car seat is from.

When I go to the USA especially Florida I love going to Target and Walmart to shop and see the amazing Halloween displays, I wish that Halloween was bigger here in the UK as it is hard to find good decorations as they put the Christmas decorations out in August and September.
