Well it makes sense. The plasma is way faster, fuel rod easily dodgeable. I've definitely died way more times to grunts and jackals pistoling me to death. *I'm looking at you ODST* One usually hits you with a charge then the rest pepper your ass 🤣

I feel like Plasma pistols were better back then. Also, fuel rods are slower, so despite being the better weapon in most cases, it has less burst damage.

I know Reach Plasma Pistols have a buff against shields. Not sure if it applied here.

It's because Reach's armor/shield system is broken as fuck. On legendary its a fucking chore to kill those assholes. I beat it on legendary and didn't touch the game for six fucking years after.

Whaaaat, cmon halo reach elites were my favorite in every way, genuinely made the game hard on legendary

Most AI do when they are shown off in these videos. Not sure why, but it does not help when explosions also turn them around and they have to slowly turn back

I am pretty sure every elite from every game will do that. In 2 and 3, they will even do their battle cry and pull out an energy sword. Don't remember exactly in 4 or at all in 5 or Infinite, but CE through Reach they definitely all do

Probably because in the older games it was so easy to dodge. A very good decision overall, but sad for the CE elite

It is not even all the AI, but more of how fast they move and their animations. Reach was faster so the enemies were less vulnerable. CE characters were generally slower in all regards. The one thing though is Reach enemies are all aggressive, so if you get close, they will pretty much always go in for a melee. In CE, they may back up or go in depending on the situation

@@classydeathclaw2101anything that moved fast was trouble for him. He crushed jackals hunters and brutes but the grunts, skirmishers and elites strafed too fast for him

The elite ultras, generals and field marshals were too much though due to fast and upgraded ai which makes sense... the only lose which was weird was him losing to 5 ordinary grunts that one time. But then proceeded to crush the grunt ultras and fuel rod grunts afterwards... ?.

Well mostly plasma as you can see with the grunts just spamming plasma pistol. IIRC headshots with regular KE round human weapons also do the same too.

I think a lot also depends on how much health they have, Kat died immediately for instance whereas 6 took multiple hits before killing the elite. I think it depends on what their health is set to

they honestly would excactly do the opposite. Run in straight and pray to the Rings that the enemy doesnt have anything stronger that magnums. There is a reason why the covenant was loosing most ground battles. I mean their names are literally "zealots"
