HALO 1x1 Reaction/Review! "Contact" Re-Edit 

He takes his helmet off multiple times in the books as well as a couple in the games. Just give me a good show and I don't give 2 fucks

It's such a stupid complaint, the reason he doesn't take his helmet off in the games is so you the player can insert yourself into the armor and BE Master Chief yet a bunch of lowbrow morons have somehow turned that into some sort of almost religious dogma. Edit: Not to mention he literally takes the thing off at the end of the very first game.

As a halo loyalist it was weird, but as a show it was good build trust moment.

It was the same with Bel Air, where before it came out everyone was bashing it and not excited but then once it came out, the show was good. I had mixed feeling about the first episode, but i hope it gets better. I mean there's already a season 2.

Dude that's so cool! I've been super impressed with her performance so far, especially when she's speaking Sangheili, it sounds really natural. Along with Schreiber's performance as Chief she's probably tied for my favorite actor/actress in this right now!

I hate takes like this. If your going to adapt something using the same places, events and characters from the source then stick to the source. If you want it to be in the same universe with your own characters then fine. Basically this is bad writers, who know their story telling sucks, piggy backing on the good will of established works. They know that the story and/or ideology they want to tell would never draw an audience on it's own. So they drape their stories with franchises with a huge fan base hoping the audience will watch because of their fandom. However, what happens constantly is they change too many things and the franchise sours because their telling their own story not the story the fans wanted. Here's some examples. Why the hell does the covenant need a human sympathizer? They are advance alien race. You think they need her to understand the human language, culture or writings? Hasley doesn't have the authority to supersede commanding officers at Oni. Also how the hell could chief escape when they were surrounded by ships? Did they all crash? Did they all die? It's dumb.

Also why be mad about a show when the books and games exist and you can just go play and read all those to get your 100% accurate entertainment. Like I don’t get why people complain, when it sounds like exactly what you want already exists. If this isn’t for you then that’s a bummer, but most people like you are just gonna stick around trashing on it week to week. Needlessly hate watching it and complaining that it’s not the exact thing that already exists. So why you here and not just re reading/playing the stuff you love?

@SciFi Author B.L. Alley Only bad writers copy the source material? Are you saying every anime ever created is the result of bad writing because they take a manga and turn it into animation? Do you know who how stupid you sound? Let's take attack on titan for example. The anime is a huge commercial success because they breathed new life into the pages of the great story of that manga. With their great animation, great voice acting and great music they grew the fan base by following what made the IP great. The attack on titan live action movie was huge flop because writers didn't bother to stick to the story and wrote their own lore. If you are going to make major changes to a established beloved work then write your own story. Stop hidden behind the good will of a beloved franchise to peddle your cash grab revisionist personal storylines or push your ideological beliefs.

@@newsiesmario2242 First off, I didn't know anything about this show until a few weeks ago. I didn't look into anything about, so I didn't form a opinion about it until afterwards. So you don't know what you're talking about. The reason I complain about bad adaptations because I want to see my favorite things in new media and I want see it done well. Why wouldn't I want to see a story on a page giving new life on the screen? Also I want tv shows to be of good quality because I like watching tv shows. So when people like you say crap writing is actually good writing people who produce shows get lazy because the bar is set low. Thus ruining the experience for everyone because they know they don't even have to try. More importantly if people don't voice their opinion and just don't watch then how will the studios who produce these shows know what's wrong? Imagine if your spouse just stop talking to you and didn't explain why. You wouldn't know if the fault lies with you or them. So just like how you voice how good something is to get more of it, others voice how bad something is to get less of it.

I guess so, the clear divide is Chief being on Silver instead of Blue!

I agree with the Season 2 bit. Especially since from everything we've seen I don't think they actually are landing on the Halo this season. And with a new show runner for season 2 I think the series will really take off. But so far the show is better than expected for me.

The timeline is entirely different in this show. 2552, when the show takes place, is when the Human-Covenant war ends in the game's timeline after 27 years of fighting, so the Spartan program may have been more mature at First Contact with the Covenant. Also Chief is wearing Mk. 6 armour, which he didn't have until Halo 3 or 4 iirc. I disagree about it being a misstep for him to take his helmet off, they need to give the audience a human face to the character, but I hope it doesn't happen often.

@@pudgetron420 V didn't take his mask off all throughout the movie and he still resonated with the audience. Din Djarin didn't take his until the last episode of the first season. It could be done.
