Cortana has a monologue in the opening of Halo 3 talking about why she chose John (she had the pick of any Spartan she wanted) and her reason was not because he was strong or fast or brave but because he had something none of the other Spartans had: luck. That's why he got the coin flip every time, that is also something from the original canon.

I'm starting to lose a lot of interest in the kwan storyline; to the point of where i was upset when she didn't perish. I want to focus more on master chief and kai 😄

The game-universe reason for John’s coin flipping prowess is that he is extraordinarily lucky. Like almost luck-as-a-superpower lucky

I think the problem with Kwan is they have her worrying about a revolution that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things in the halo universe. There is a literal galactic war happening out there with an alien civilization and everytime we cut to her freaking out about her fathers dream of fighting against all the other human factions it just makes it feel completely pointless.

The reason Kwan is paired with Soren is because the worst character needs to be with the best. Kwan "There's too many of them." Soren checking his pistol. "Nah, there's just enough."

Show may be doing it’s own thing in its alternate universe but at least Halsey is still a child soldier creating mad scientist.

The home reconstruction scene was so robocop, loved it.

I'm really hyped up by Kai's storyline. Definitely not where I expected it to be headed but I'm all here for it. And despite all the criticism towards Kwan's storyline I see around, I can make abstraction of it for now, hoping it gets more relevant later. Sure, it's not the most compelling arc out there but the rest of the show delivers enough so I can just accept to wait on that front for now.

I’d like to ask anyone who’s a fanboy like me to not post spoilers for the crew or those who haven’t played the games, I appreciate the hesitation reading the lekgolo stuff, I debated even saying those were in the games, I’m actually enjoying the show even tho it’s different seeing them did get me excited as all hell since we’ve never seen them like that before, also the needles scene was my fave in this episode

I have a theory that the covenant woman is actually Chief's sister, as Halsey said his memories aren't 100% reliable, which makes me think that in his memories the dog has replaced said sister, similar to what happened in the show Sherlock with Redbeard.

if anyone has read the books, you'll remember that halsey basically kidnaps these kids from their families, and replaces them with haphazard clones that eventually die from organ failure. i think they're definitely harping on that string with the halsey we see in the show.

They have improved a lot in the Second season and I like the homage to "Combat Evolved," with Admiral Keyes dying like a badass and holding his Tobacco Pipe in his final moments. The fact that Spartans can still fight without their body armour is very interesting and we got to see The Fall of Reach. The Supreme Commander (The Arbiter) made an appearance in the final scene before he was about to slice Master Cheif in half but was spared by the Human-Covenant girl. Best Episode in the series by far!

I’ve been a Halo fan since CE and I’m enjoying the show, ya it’s doing its own thing and it’s not canon but I feel like it’s pretty solid. Certainly not as bad as some of the outrage from halo fans who act like it’s the worst show in the world.

So this is random but if you ever had the original games on the Xbox, the game manuals tell you about every alien in the Covenant and the UNSC/Spartans. If you look up the Hunter, it actually is a large group of worm aliens that are encased in armor working as a hive mind. Granted the first game graphics never REALLY showed that level of detail but I had read it and to this day remembered reading it as a teen. When I saw them on the last episode I was like 😬 I know what's gonna happen... 😂 I dunno about you guys but I'm digging the show. If you haven't read the original novels by Nylund you should; especially The Fall of Reach that adds so much to the lore and even the show too so far.

Kwan can be a Spartan 4 (from Halo 4&5) since the requirements are the lowest and cheaper to produce.

I would rather watch the other spartan's as a story than what is going on with chief and kwan also now I know why spartan's emotions are supressed because them with emotions are creeping me out

about the keystone, being charged because he touched it as a kid I don't think it's true. remember the covenant girl lived on a trash planet, she never saw a tree before being taken. I feel it's more like a genetic recurrence like with the "Ancients" in StarGate. a genetic trait that's being passed on to 1 in 100billion or something. from time to time someone is born with that ability and they are attracted to it without really knowing what it is. and it can't be replicated to other people who don't have it.

the current Spartans we're made a certain way, but future versions are volunteers, so Kwan could be a spartan in later seasons. No time soon though.

I think the theory at 6:00 is the most accurate explanation of this episode.

I love the show but I do agree, with Eric’s sentiment on the Kwan storyline… she’s gets very annoying sometimes and it does feel insignificant like Rick said. I just don’t care about that story.. guessing Master Chief will come and save her and take out Vicher or however you spell his name. Would rather just stick with John the whole time, but I understand we gotta have multiple things going on I guess

Kind of nice to see a channel full of Halo series reactions - likes and criticisms together - that are fair minded and constructive. Most pages I visit are full of angry, vengeful 35+ year-olds who want to hold public executions for anyone and everyone involved in the series, who are actually encouraging harassment of its actors and writers for daring to deviate at all from the plot progression (and racial composition) of the games themselves.

Great video! At the end of the video y'all said that touching the object "charged" him and gave him the ability to interact with the one he touched as an adult. I will tell you from now that is not the case. I don't want to spoil anything for you by saying too much because I'm not sure how they will go about telling the history of Halo. I will just say that those artifacts do predate humanity and the covenant by at least 100,000 years. And as that Reph/reth guy (the crazy dude in episode 2) said to master chief, "you don't know what you are". He also tells him that a blessed one can interact with the object and when master chief asks what that is, he replies to him with "human, only more." Last thing I will say is that everything and I mean EVERYTHING that happens and has happened to master chief has been "a culmination of a thousand lifetimes of planning." Halo goes a lot deeper than you may imagine, and I hope this show will explore that depth so y'all would be able to understand exactly what is going on. Halos lore in my opinion is as big as Star Wars if not bigger and actually quite mindblowing.

Coin flips aren't random... come to think of it... i don't think there is a concept like "randomness" in nature... anyway: If you now the way the coin faces before the toss, the amount of energy you put in and the height you catch it, you can calculate the result, maybe he does something like that on an instinctual level.

Honestly I would care less if Kwan dies at this point, her story is just filler and doesn’t add anything to the narrative. It’s sad her character had potential but the writing is all over the place

as far as Kwan’s story, I think it’s about to kick off in an interesting direction. The revelation of her Father visiting the mystics is very intriguing and will likely very much change the direction of her story

I like series so far, but.. I really don't care about the girls and her dead fathers story. To me it's a bit boring and unnecesary. They could show that yes Master Chef saved her and that's all. I like the Cortana, Master Chef interactions. His childhood memories. Also i want to know who is the blonde girl. They should focus more on that, atleast that's my opinion.

This is going to be one of those Small eternal civil wars. Going in to kind of the Russian and United States race for the moon. being the Halo ring. And when the ring is discovered. Everyone will stop fighting each other and then we will be at the point of Halo one in the video games sort of speak. Pretty much a prequel with a few changes to the original gaming story line Which is understandable because it's not a video game they gotta have character development. I don’t care about Kwan but we aren’t supposed to, she’s written to be annoying and clueless and that’s to show how she grows over time I would think. Her story will eventually match back up with John and it has a purpose, I think we need to see exactly what the mystics told her dad. I’m beginning to think his rush to save her may have been deeper than just father daughter, she may have a purpose. I want to see how Kai’s story goes because I don’t think she is equipped like Chief to handle emotions. I could see her killing someone if they piss her off because she has no understanding of the fact that you can’t just kill regular people if you want, she’s a spartan, she should be able to kill whoever she wants, when she wants in her mind. She could turn the others into that kind of thinking, why are we defending these weak humans, we should be ruling them, let my take your emotion blocker out and you’ll see 🤷🏽‍♂️. If they don’t jump on her bandwagon, I could see her killing the other Spartans and blitzing out on her own. I could see Chief having to put her down eventually.

I don't know why some get so upset at him taking his helmet off. As humans, we take our senses for granted and find it difficult, if not silly, to understand what it would be like to go without them for so long then one day they all be turned on at once. In this show, the character of Master Chief/John is experiencing an overwhelming amount of senses that he has been cut off from for a multiple of decades. It's normal that he would want to see with his own eyes, hear with his own ears, smell with his own nose, etc. The helmet would impair all those things. I see this character as two-fold - John when he is not in combat and Master Chief when he is. I love what they are doing with him. I have a cousin who for the first fifteen years of her life could not hear, then she received cochlear implants ... and for months after she got them she wondered about listening to all the sounds around her with a look of sheer happiness and amazement on her face. So I can only imagine how regaining all of your senses at once would feel like.

The Kwan B-story is so useless. Soren is cool I wish he was the B-storyline. The supposedly 'soulless' and 'robotic' other 3 spartans are way more interesting than Kwan and whatever it is she's trying to do. I fee like the writers didn't have enough material for Act 2 and they had to fill it with this meandering 'Kwan trying to avenge her father' waste of time. I hope it'll SOMEHOW end up helping Masterchief and his A-story, but honestly I can't see how right now

Madrigal is a problem. literal _filler._ So is Soccer-mom Cortana. Cheif needs to complain to Halsy that she's "too human" and have Hals reprogram her to be hand sized and with her classic blue-see through data skin we all know and love.

It's moving way too slow. If the game had had this many noncombat cut scenes all in a row, I would have quit already! 😆 I wanna see Spartans kick alien butt!! I wanna hear Grunts squeal for mercy in their goofy voices as they get gunned down! I want Halo! Not an hour of 20-year delayed teenage angst... 😂

I'm still enjoying the show for the most part, but I honestly couldn't care less about the Kwan stuff. Yes, keep fighting each other for independence or some weird mystic visions while all of humanity gets wiped out one planet at a time. I’ve stopped watching movies because someone kills a dog in it, it’s crazy, I know it’s not real but it ruins the movie for me. To this day I’ve never finished John Wick because of the dog. Soren is smaller because he left the program, he was never pumped up with the growth hormones that made Master Chief and the others as big as they are. If he had staid he would be as big as the others. I would also think that the emotion dampener was a thing when he left, it was created because of him leaving I would think

The Kwan storyline is boring and pointless. This show could've just been Halo CE or Reach and it would've been amazing. Idk what they were thinking. Imagine just doing Reach for season 1. Non halo fans would've loved it and it would've built up anticipation for the appearance of Master Chief in season 2 for CE. Almost everything about this show is as dumb as you could possibly make it. Arrogant and stupid hollywood people really thought their story would be better than the original story lol
