It's because this type of TV is called CRT (Cathode-Ray Tube) It works by a funnel running from the back of the TV, all the way to the screen. In this funnel there are electron guns that are manipulated to show images on the screen when electron beams are shot at it. The TV needs space to store all this, hence, why the back extends in a chunky manner. Hope this helped!

Yeah, I experienced it too. In 2015 when I was 7. Weir I know but my dad had an old TV that he bought in Iraq with an original Xbox from 2001, and I would just play halo
80's too. I was 24 when this dropped. Was one of my last true gaming eras before it really got real life serious...plus gaming shifted to all this DLC crap and I lost interest

Ahhh something just so refreshing and wholesome about the simplicity of our childhood set ups. Plug and play, no formatting or scan and repairs or hour long downloads. The next best picture or the highest frame rates with highest performance and fps. Just a good old 15 fps tube tv with a 584 bit chipset. Brought much enjoyment.

Ah the nostalgia its mind blasting the good days when i was 7 or 8 i got halo combat evolved then when i was around 9 or 10 i was so excited i got halo 2 from a thrift store and it was a amazing feeling i had the og halo green edition xbox the green clear cased on ah i miss it but now im 16 and almost 17
