Dear Humanity, we regret being Alien Bastards, we regret coming to earth, and most certainly regret that the corps just blew up our raggedy ass fleet! HOORAH!
I got Halo 2 day of release 2004, a magical day. My mom left it on my bed when I came home from school. I shed a tear; then I launched it on my original xbox and that guitar damn near made my soul leave my body. I had a girlfriend at the time and I completely forgot about her for 3 days.
All of console gaming, and possibly all of gaming as a unified whole, peaked with Halo 2. The entire US economy took a hit and a notable dip was seen the day of Halo 2's launch. No other game in history has ever recorded such a feat. For anyone who was never around for midnight releases, taking time off work for days after a game launched. Waiting in line at a Gamestop to get your preordered copy, reveling in the hype with those around you waiting in line with baited breath. I genuinely feel sorry for those people from the bottom of my heart. Those who were there and partook in it, who reveled in it, you know what I'm talking about. Gaming has not been the same since then. Gaming can be good, but it will never be that level of hype ever again.
God: creates humans Humans: create Xbox Xbox team and bungie: create halo Jesus and god playing two player split screen in heaven: we made the right choice.
Master Chief - "Sir, permission to leave the ship" Lord Hood- "For what purpose Master Chief?" Master Chief - "To give the covenant back their bomb." Halo 2 was just soooo good.
We regret being alien bastards, we regret comin to Earth, and we will most definitely regret the corps just blew up our raggedy ass fleet. HOOAH - Sgt Maj. Johnson
Tears come to my eyes on how well executed this game was. The campaign, the multiplayer, the hype, everything truly meet all expectations... Only limited by it's time.
Apparently modders hate it because it is held together by duck tape and gum, but the code still somehow works lol. Absolute chad of a game though. Edit: typo
Gaming as a whole peaked with Halo 2. Even as a Counterstrike 1.6 diehard in my day, I respectfully admit that my game of choice, while king for a time, was rightfully replaced.
+Christian “csh92” Schmidt exactly with expansions which you have to pay for man! I spent money on the game and yet I have to pay more money on a game to get the full story! it's a joke man yeah onlines good that's bout it
The 98th Maple I could have said Trump supporters. I only said CoD because there is always a big debate between the "best" FPS and is always CoD and Halo fanboys at the end of the day.
I remember when I was a kid, I would go over to my friend's house just to play Halo CE and Halo 2. I was a Playstation 2 kid back then, but Halo was always amazing! Even now in High School, in our computer classes, someone got Halo Combat Evolved on all the PC's like two years ago, and we would have these huge matches of Halo during my freshman year. Now, me being a junior, the community has died down drastically, people just wanna play simple games on the computers which boggles my mind to this day! I think Halo will always hold a special place in my childhood, even though I suck on console, I'm much better on PC, haha!
There's a single part of this song that makes me hate it with every fibre of my being, and fills me with merciless rage whenever it happens. I can't stand it. 4:12.
Still makes me tear up when I listen to this, longing for days that are long gone and won't come back due to pandering to Non fans so much, not caring about the lore and prioritizing money over a quality game. Nostalgia is what it is because of how good we had it. RIP Halo, Chief, Arbiter, Cortana, Johnson, Six and that marine on H2 that I wouldn't let die in Metropolis when driving the tank.
Ron: ok I think have a pretty gud theme song on our hands Bob: no Ron:why Bob:guitars Ron:sir i dont think we nee- Bob:ELECTRIC GUITARRRRRS. Let's all take a moment of silence to thank bob
Damn I remember the Bungie logo coming up at start up and the guitar going off. That's when I knew Bungie wasn't fucking around this was the game. The Daddy of console multiplayer coupled with an epic single player. Fuck I miss the days when Halo was badass and not catered to kiddies like it is today.
No matter what platform anyone plays on everyone recognizes this theme simply because its wonderfully made and honestly no game has been able to duplicate it in all its entirety
Game's Like Halo Are Called Colorado Columbine Game's Due To Them Being Like Doom That Damn Fox News Blaming Video Game's Since 2000 And 2010s For Violence In The Real World
I don't know if that was a sentence or what but it was super cool that it had no commas or anything because Halo is amazing and periods and punctuation dont matter
Had NO idea that this was played by Steve Vai, but now that you hear it back again you can make out the unique features that Vai has in his guitar playing
lest we remember, no DLC, updates, or microtransactions edit: i see my mistake, mustve been because i never bought them, i apologize to everyone who thought i lied, its just been such a long time, as well as me intending this to be a time before dlcs and microtransactions
GAEM Stuff, Halo 2 did have DLC, but they never made it free. It still sits around $10 - $30 depending on where you live (I live in Australia so it sits around the $25 mark.)
The mix of an amazing orchestra and some genius going fucking insane on the guitar made this song, and thus the game, one of the best game soundtracks ever
@@seanwink2379 finally someone knows the genius behind the guitar, that dive bomb at the beginning tho. Guarantee Steve Vai was humping his guitar like he always does.
Peaandham Playstation games are also banging, you guys got Uncharted, The Last of Us, Destiny and several more to include. But yeah, this game is intense and legendary.
2001 the start off something 2004 the story continues 2007 finish the fight 2009 get ready to drop 2010 the fall off reach 2012 wake up wake up 2014 how it all began 2015 it's time to find her
Halo CE: The Start Of Something Halo 2: The Fight Continues Halo 3: Finish This Fight Halo Wars: Think Back In The Past Halo 3 ODST: Prepare To Drop Halo Reach: Battle Continues From The Past Halo CEA: The Start After Fall Of Reach Halo 4: Wake Up, Wake Up Halo Spartan Assault: In The Meantime Halo TMCC: It's Time To Have Some Mega Fun Halo Spartan Strike: Back To The Meantime Halo 5 Guardians: To Get Her Back
This was probably my first Halo game...memories of me using the SMG.....me getting killed by Hunters and Wraiths.....Jackal Snipers barely killing me when I play either on Normal or Easy.....I remember using the Enemies weapons.....killing marines for some reason.....the Energy Sword.....the Beam rifle....I wish I could go back in time, and do all those things again. I fricking loved this game. So many childhood memories!
+Stricken4Pot well not to all the fucking cod fanboys. Halo just feels more and more like its drifting from its old awesome tanky feel, to dying from 3 smg rounds....... Am i the only one who's noticed that with each game its taking less and less to be killed in multiplayer? also i LOVE Halo but..... it shouldn't be dragged on with 5. Plus the whole "now every gun has holo sights" kinda bugs me.
Four Swords get outta here, for as good as tf2 is, it doesn't even have a single player mode that's anything close to a campaign (i know there are bots that you can play against, & i know there are the comics to explain the story of tf2, but the former just isn't as good as the rest of the game) & a team in just about any halo game is less likely to be full of brainless morons than in tf2 (& besides. gun mettle. tf2.gamebanana.com/sounds/27769)
+Max Huff If you have an Xbox One you can get the Master Chief Collection and play it on there. It's remastered, however you can easily switch the graphics out for the original ones if you want. But I feel your pain. I have an original Xbox however mine has a broken DVD-ROM drive, so I can't play anything on it.
***** Well, I think multiplayer improves with each game, but in my opinion Halo 2 has the best storyline and soundtrack in the series. That said, Halo 2 also had amazing graphics and multiplayer for its time.
Maybe the image in 03:00 sums it up: Spartan: *holding rocket launcher, said what you just said* Spartan 2: GAH!! *flung to the other side of the map, dead* #DeadonimpactHalo...TheGamingLegend/Icon
Omfg That was the shit. I remember the first time I played this game. I had halo 1 on my xbox but I was saving up to get 2 it had just came out. I went over to my friends house and he had it and my jaw hit the ground. I started playing and almost fucking died because of how amazing it is. The best memory was seeing the bungie logo and the theme play. Good times.
The Master Chief Collection. - $59.99 - 1080p, 60 FPS - Dedicated Servers - Full Halo 2 Multiplayer intact - Separate Multiplayer for all 4 games - Over 100 maps running on original engines - All levels and game modes unlocked from the start - Custom playlists that allow you to combine experiences from all 4 games - 4000 Gamerscore - Access to Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta Included (December 27 - January 22) - Digital Series 'Halo: Nightfall' also included
Motocross you obviously have not played halo 2 when it first came out. I would pay $60 to have halo 2 for xbox one without any improvements at all. It was truly a awesome game, and to be able to relive it with the amazing graphics on xbox one will bring back that experience.
benjamin woodrow Steve Vai composed the guitar part pretty much on the spot. There’s a video on the channel of the actual composer showing their work with Steve.
+TheDarkermanzz I don't know how he got it. All I know is I was playing the level, this theme kicked and I was like "WTF is going on" and he told me it was his tank theme
Definitely the most badass version of the halo theme, and the best online multiplayer of the original Xbox! The ending to this song gives me chills every time I hear it!
To this day, no video game OST track has EVER hyped me up as much as this track hyped up 14 year old me. Can't believe this game turns 15 this year. Insanity. And I still find myself coming back to listen to it randomly.
I swear this theme brings a tear to my eye. 14 years later and this will always take me right back to those days of glory. I miss the old days. We made xbox live what it is today.
TheShredder950 I feel you man. But honestly, lag in Halo in particular and online games in general is always going to be present. I haven't been hit hard in Halo 4 much, about the same amount as in 3. I'm sorry that you have had more trouble. As for lag switching and all that crap, honestly who cares about rank? It means jack shit with or without cheating. I only play occasionally so I'm like SR30 or something like that and I can still easily destroy people at SR100+. On the other hand, people ranked lower than me can wreck me as well. Its a crapshoot most of the time exploiting assholes.
Playing this all the time with my dad and siblings back in 2012, still playing it from time to time with friends, so much nostalgia, would sometimes let out a tear or two
Anyone else get chills of nostalgia listening to this I remember staying up all night playing this game in 8th grade. This game completely redefined how online shooters with its innovative and revolutionary ranking system and skill based matchmaking that all modern online shooters revolve around
