I was in highschool when this arrived, was my first own Halo (I played them all before but in friend's houses). Halo 5: Guardians is for me what Halo 3 is for most of you. I love the multiplayer, remember play before and after school hours and hours of multi with friends, alone and with my little brother. Man I miss those days... everything I had to worry aboout was to meet in the school the girl I was in love at the time and hang out with my group of friends. Now I work as a programmer and everything is different; hearing this almost made me in tears. Thank you 343 for all the good memories :)
This gives some nice perspective. :) Also when you said "what Halo 3 is for most of you" I felt SO old, lol. Halo 3 was "new" Halo to me . . . Halo CE was to me what Halo 3 was for those folks and what Halo 5: Guardians is for you.
I get chills everytime the 117 theme comes in at 4:33. The original Halo theme will always be iconic, but no other song for me has captured the Master Chief's journey as much as this has.
Mister CHEF I never compared them in regards to how they sounded. I was saying that although the original Halo theme is loved far more by a lot of Halo fans, I personally like the 117 theme more, as it feels like the main theme to 4, 5 and eventually 6. Being that these games are a more personal story for Chief, it makes sense that the theme would be more personal, rather than the big booming orchestra in the original Halo theme.
I understand what you mean. The last of the true fans dwindle, but every one of us still have the chance to appreciate halo for what it is, no matter what it is.
I know these two things are totally unrelated, but it gives me the same feelings of Green Arrow’s death in Crisis/Anakin’s fall to the dark side in Revenge of the Sith
5:24 - 6:07 starts off sad 😔 but later on sounds so heroic. I love this sound track so much. All the halo music is so nostalgic... brings back the old days
Just think how in a couple years we'll be looking back this and wishing for themes times to return. As a Halo player since late Halo 3, I've found Halo 5 to be my best experience. Getting with a bunch of friends and playing custom games and laughing our asses off, or late night grinding REQ's in Warzone to get more packs, or going sweaty try-hard in ranked game modes, or having a blast messing around with all of the new forge capabilities and bugs, and waiting for each month to bring more content to the game. This is definitely a game I will look back on.
When I first got H5, it was mainly to carry on with the story, which I believe was underwhelming. However, it was the first Halo campaign my girlfriend and I ever did on Legendary together (her first legendary) and holy cow did we have some good laughs out of it. Even with the multiplayer. I can't even count how many we played together and just had fun. Looking back now, that's what I'll probably remember most: just having fun!
@El Joshi De Peluche I completely understand, not only the soundtrack is amazing both multiplayer and warzone are really well done. At first, I didn't appreciate it but after some time I started really like this game. But to be honest the story was decent.
Osirus QR I felt like 1-3 were a mix of both but mostly upbeat, ODST and Reach were gloomy and unoptimistic, where I felt like 5 had some happy ones and sad ones.
I remember that part being played right at the moment when Cortana talks about her and chief discovering Installation 04 being the climax of the Librarian's plan, as you rise on a platform in Genesis. Nostalgic, but also cruel since that little speech is the time when Chief has to realize Cortana has gone nuts.
Although everyone hates halo 5 it was my first game I owned in the series so it will have a special place in my heart. Even though the original trilogy is the better games.
I felt like the music and forge was good, and I really like the menu, but I’ve always like the older gameplay and campaign, I liked halo 4s story but five was too different. Great game not a great halo
Staying up till 1am...playing arena, warzone... Grifball whatever.... Raging... Laughing... Crying.... Deep discussion etc. I have so many great memories connected to this song.
Dylan Wisler Well they do, hated halo 5 on sheer principal alone, got it for ten bucks and played a match of swat, they had H2 BR in rotation and I had a blast, next round was CE magnums and now I’m hooked for a while.
i basically play mostly halo 5 in my spare time. everyone knows the campaign was bad (it was ok or great to some people) but i really enjoy the multiplayer
Probably just me being the band nerd I am but that horn at 12:32 is 👌 Halo has one of the greatest and most iconic game soundtracks that will ever exist. Truly a work of art. A masterpiece
It's just so emotional , reminds me all my past times playing video games and halo is still the best of them all. And the best is when you see the comments , all of us mostly like one moment of the soundtrack , but we all love the whole entire ost.
Anton ROBERT-PAVLOVIC yea sometimes I like to just listen to to this looking up at my ceiling at 2 am, thinking about my memories with halo in my childhood. The nostalgia hits so hard. Something about halos music and of course the game and story itself make me so emotional. These games will forveere hold a special place within me
There’s something about the combination of the main screen and the music that makes me just listen and let my emotions unfold. Sometimes I’ll even leave it on for a few minutes at a time before I even start a match. Thank you, 343, for making such awesome music.
+Jack Hills Aye, people who can't pay for cheap comics that have awesome plot will never understand Halo. Heck, even Bungie's Halo games required you to read novels to get a better gripe of what was going on.
This menu soundtrack is so important to me- halo 5 was my first halo game back in the 6th grade and I played a ton of swat and there was just nothing to worry about back then. Truly the good old days when all the boys used to be on and my friend group was still together
I came into halo 5 late, around 2019, and it was the best 3 years of my life because of this game. Just being able to sit down, make fun of the campaign then immediately get beamed down by a sniper jackal on legendary, fuck around in big team super fiesta, infection, forge, etc. No matter what, this is one of my favourite halo games, despite its flaws
*reading comments and reviews claiming the game to be bad* thinking of buying it because not many kiddies wil buy it with non perfect reviews *listening to a Soundtrack of the Game* preparing to head to a store to buy it
Never Tought I'd Come Back Here For Nostalgia. Halo Infinite No Longer Has It's Original Theme It Got Replaced By Something Else, So This Is The Most Recent Halo Title That Still Has The OG Theme. That Same Theme We Heard 22 Years Ago, The Halo Theme.
0:00 first part of the song is already so good, this is the first halo i ever played, playing this as a little kid gives me a deep feeling in the heart, i still play this and this specific song gives me memories playing this again, awesome 🥺
I can’t simply explain how many times over I’ve amplified this choice of tune through my AirPods whilst working out. While everyone generally has their own flavour of music, every time I’m pumping out iron and sweat, this tune subconsciously pushes out the adrenaline monkeys out of my body, and after every set, this tune I find invokes a swerve to dig deeper into my training and train more and more intensively!!
Sometimes when I load up games, I spend too much time on my phone and get distractes. But when it comes to halo, I get to hear the rest of the score where as others just hear the intro, and for that I'm glad cause it's beautiful 💙
10 minutes on wards if fucking beautiful. Just from this alone I am already loving the OST to this game. Man it's so calm and tranquil... just how I like my Halo menus.
This takes me back to Christmas of 2019 when I got this game. This was the first Halo game I ever played. It may not have been the best Halo game, but I had fond memories of staying up late on the weekends and playing this on my TV while sitting in bed.
Five years, five long years. I really need to get on and play some more Halo 5, love the music and in this menu theme I especially love the whoosing of the Pelicans as they fly past.
Its crazy to think maybe an orchestra and a conductor were in the studio with violins and everything just for a video games menu, and actually put their all in it
