Halo CE Takes You Back to a Simpler Time 

What game should we play next?

CE will always have a special place in my heart for being the first fps I bought and played as a kid. It was like 2007 and the newer games were already released, but playing campaign on my family's Dell desktop is one of my favorite gaming memories.

installing this shit on school computers or pcs at the library and having a mini lan was always fun. Arguably the single most influential fps game of all time.

I have such a strong connection to CE, it being one of the first shooters I ever played, never owned an xbox as a kid (I was a PS2 kid) but I had friends from school that owned one and we used to aways play split screen slayer together on blood gulch, good times

Used to love Halo PC back in the day. Custom Edition was absolutely phenomenal.

I still play Custom Edition in 2023 and just made my own mod on it today.

god, i remember doing ranked hc ce doubles for a challenge one day. we won, but the experience is something i never wanna suffer through again

I love halo ce not just for the pistol but also all the cool physics tricks you can do like using grenades to blow up weapons /power ups toward you and the low projectile speed of weapons so you have lead your shots at long range a feature that's not in any other halo game.

4:10 - Exactly. CE makes you feel powerful and it has the best sandbox in the series. The Devs have been sleeping on CE mechanics - the Pistol and the sandbox that surrounds it, the map design, the mechanics like melee-grenade-melee and backpack reload, the lack of bullet magnetism, the melee system, etc. 4:45 - CE maps were made on a gradient. 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, etc. They weren't designed for "either you play 4v4 or you BTB, with nothing in the middle". 6:14 - Games back then were also taking more chances with the maps. That's why maps like Boarding Action exist. You'd never see Boarding Action in a modern shooter. 7:05 - Backpack reload is a good mechanic because it means you are always running and gunning. It is possible to balance it. As you know, it is balanced in CE.

People tell me I play CE MP due to nostalgia. Jokes on them. I played it on the 360 but only campaign cause my 360 didnt had the wifi included and couldnt play online. My first HALO MP experience is infinite and even tho I enjoyed it, I was done with it. CE is my favourite experience on MCC. So simple but to the point.
