The game that started it all has been brought to Xbox One through the Master Chief Collection, and it's been buffed up with native 1080p resolution and a smooth 60fps frame rate. There is nothing to say about Combat Evolved that hasn't been said already, It's a modern classic, and nothing short of a masterpiece. It's been 13 years since it's release, and the story and level design still hold up. The story starts fairly slow, but kicks into high gear midway through, with one of the best twist in gaming history. By now you all know the story, but back in 2001, the introduction of the flood was jaw dropping.
This is the Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary version of the game, which was released in 2011. As always, we included important gameplay, relevant dialogue and all cutscenes to create one fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy, and if you do, make sure you like, comment and share!

TheBupMasterToad64 it was. Johnson is a Spartan 1 the first generation of Spartan’s. He has faster reflexes and is a lot stronger then your average human but no where near as much as a Spartan 2 or 3.

@@TheByrd Technically, but he was infected and half-dead. This is the last time he's fully alive and independent, the last time he speaks to us as himself. In the book there's more detail on his struggle with the flood and his heroics to the very end, but in terms of the game, "Keyes out" is very much his "Goodbye" as a person.

I completely agree. Halo 1 remains the best Halo of the entire series. Halo 2 is a close 2nd. It's the reason I bought the orginal Xbox as well, and I have to also agree that talking shit online in Halo 2 was a real blast! =D You remember the very first "Zombies" before it became a gametype on Halo 3? We started that shit! Foundation was THE map for it haha.

For those who may or may not have read the book, First Stike, The Master Chief himself was almost turned into Flood after an Egg's tendril pierced his mask. If it weren't for Cortana sending a strong electrical pulse (probably a super painful one) through John's nervous system causing the Egg to recoil out of John's throat, humanity wouldn't exist today. That's some tough love. And that's also why Chief has a new helmet in H2.

Spartan I was done in a safer environment than S-II or S-III were done. The subjects were volunteers and they didn't enhance as much as their successors cause the Orion Project was safer and not as lethal as the augmentations done to the members of Spartan-II and III.

I just wonder if the audio department fixed the glitch in the cryo room. In my PC copy of the game there's about a 1 second lag between the video and audio when the Chief jumps out of the tube, so he lands, then the thunk.

In the Jenkins tape, how come Keyes is still in his officer's uniform? In the original, he was wearing combat gear. Wouldn't it make more sense for him not to give his identity away like that when engaging the covenant on the ground?

I don’t know that he had time to go back for his suitcase after being broken out of the Covenant ship. Jokes aside, even if they had access to extra uniforms or “secondhand” uniforms from their buddies I think it would probably be a good move morale wise to keep his proper officer’s uniform on. Reach is gone, their ship is toast, and what humans are in sight are insanely outnumbered with zero chance of rescue from Earth proper. At a time like that deciding to show your colors rather than hide in a dead man’s uniform might be one of those little things which helps keep folks going a little while longer.

at 52mins when the Master chief was about to activate the ring, guilty spark says "last time you ased me if it were my Choice, would i do it?" i have been watching a few videos on halo to understand whats going on and stuff. and when i heard this i was like "hmm wtf just happened" there so many Things to Discover in the halo franchise you just gotta listen to what they say and if u do some Research u can learn a shit ton of stuff. it was halo 3 when i first started playing but since i moved to playstation i havent played the games in years. so i resorted to watching you guys With Your AWESOME game Movies. you do an exelent job :)

AdjutantReflex in the books the librarian was putting geo Imprints on on other beings. When iso-didact was about to fire the halo arrays the librarian put iso-didacts geo's on someone on the human race, so when the the halo wipes out life, then everything repopulates geo's of iso-didact will be there. when 343 guilty spark says, "why would you hesitate to do what you already done." He means he knows he's iso-didact. In the later books the reason master chief doesn't have any memory is because during the spartan program it wiped his memory, if played halo 4 the librarian says "I hid seeds from the didact." Saying planning was made to make him even cortana. Cortana knows he's iso-didact.

I never realized just how perfect the introduction to the halo universe was. This is definitely how you do an introduction. I remember being so excited to play halo but I only had it on PC when I was a kid, & I didn’t own a PC at my moms house, only my dads which I visited on every other weekend and on Wednesday’s. I would just take the cover art box & the game manual with me everywhere & read it Over n over & try drawing the art & daydream. Counting the minutes until I was able to play D; It was such awesome. I also got introduced to modding and how video games worked as a kid. Whilst my buddies were stuck on Xbox, I was blowing their minds having “halo wars” with A I on blood gulch, and changing values like crazy.

Cant reply to someone but the "death" of Sgt Johnson is from the Legendary ending. Sgt Johnson slips his hand to the Elites butt, that is why it lifts his head like, what? The original version, the Elite is the one that slides his hand to Johnsons butt.
