That is a lot of coats! Doing a whole car would be some dedication. You should check out the DYC (dip your car) channel. They have perfected the product quite a bit actually. You can get an end product that looks very close to automotive paint now.

you can do this with most any auto 2k systems, if you start with a gloss surface and you put enuf coats on of course its going to make a membrane you can peel off

how much would you charge, to spray a hilux sports bar, black and clear coat?

So its the same steps as a regular paint job that you can do on top of your already existing paintjob. That's a lot of work for something not exactly permanent. I wonder how long it lasts, and the cost. I have my materials for a solid color paintjob down to around $250 US, primer, base, gloss. It does look a 1000 times better than plastidip.

Can you force dry it or does it say it needs to air dry?

@customspraymods, since clearly you are not a novice and you know what you are doing. Do you think there is any difference between the HALO 2k Clear coat, or is that simply plain old "2k Clear Coat" that has the word HaloEFX on the can? I'm wondering if using any other clear coat over the base, would yield the same results. Is there something special in this 2k clear? Has anyone tried "regular" 2k clear coat over this stuff to see what would happen and if it still would be peel-able? If anyone out there knows about his product and painting and they can answer that would be great.

can you give autoflex a go, and do a comparison with halo? or are Halo sponsors seeing as you've used their stuff a few times now? any more info on the clear? you made a couple statements that seem like the clear is just a normal clear?

Does the 2k clear that goes on top make it hard to peel off later since it would go hard?

Please can someone help me I'm new to wet sanding and buffing paint and I have a satin black base coat and it has the orange peel effect and was wondering if the base coat needs to be wet sanded to remove it and then put the 2k clear coat straight on. Or do I just put the clear coat straight on and then wet sand and buff. Thanks

That takes way to long. I plasty dipped my car with spar cans, then painted over the dip and got awesome result and only took me 5 hours. After 1 year and a half i just peeled it off. Same result as these expensive ass products. You just got to know how to do it
