33:27 that event took place around 1.5 months after John 117 was augmented because it took 1 week for the augments to properly bind to his skeleton (where he was bed ridden) a second week for his surgery wounds to scar over(limited to barracks on light duty), and the last 2 weeks for him to fully recover to physical prime(light duty full access to facilities) when light duty restrictions were removed, he began working out but was kept isolated because his perception and motor reflexes were to fast for him to understand, by the end of the 6th week most of his neural perception and motor reflexes had began to sync up but his finger control and fine motor control still suffered a small lag. Which is why when the ODST squad was sent to pick a fight ( but ordered to not make it obvious) when John 117 accidentally dropped a weight on their foot because of this new clumsiness, they fought him and John 117 put 3 in the hospital for months, paralyzed 1 from the waist down, and killed the 5th. John 117 was never told what happened to those ODST, he was only told he did what he was designed to do.

This was a very fun and cool watch. As a fellow massive Halo nerd who fell out of the franchise with 4 it was fun being reminded of all the lore I remembered and some stuff that is either new or I forgot. And of course the animation is godly, who don't love Sodaz.

Not sure you know this the Covenant called ODSTS Imps which are basically a lower class of demon. The reason why Skirmishers look different from normal Jackals is because Skirmishers are more faster and stronger then the normal Jackals and they come from the Kig-Yar colony world T'vao, plus there are actually three sub species of Kig-Yar the Ruuhtian the Jackals you see in the halos 1, 2, 3, Odst, Reach and Infinite. The Ibie'shian Jackals from Halos 4 and 5 Guardians (yeah people thought those Jackals were just a redesign but they are actually a Sub Species of Kig- Yar) and finally the T'vaoan aka Skirmishers. I love Halo and I love Warhammer 40k, yes humanity/UNSC has had it bad but I would rather be a human in the halo universe rather than a human in Warhammer 40k, In UNSC colonies you can at least have a somewhat normal life and be prepared for the a comming Covenant invasion I would rather fight the Covenant and than deal with the crap in 40k. In the Imperium of man you are just human trying to survive everything, priests of the state Church making sure your faith is to God Emperor and not anyone else, being questioned by inquisitors if you are a Traitor or not. In recent lore since the fall of of Cadia Humanity has the worry about Ork empires uniting into one massive Ork WAAAGH led by the Beast of Armageddon Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka. Being raided by the Dark Eldar to become slaves and being tortured and raped to death. Tyrannids are still entering the Galaxy, invading and eating imperial planets plus the constant worry of Tyrannid Gene-stealer cults hiding in plane site on Imperial Hive Worlds. Necrons tomb worlds waking up and the Necron Silent King has returned uniting many of the Necron Dynasties. Eye of Terror expanded and split the galaxy in two and hundreds of imperial worlds got caught in warp storms unleashing the Forces of Chaos and Chaos Marines, many of these worlds are now lost forever to the Warp. Hive Worlds make the majority of the the Imperium billions of people crammed into a giant city the rich and privilege live in the upper parts while the lowly civilians live in the button trying to live off Rations, survive gang wars, diseases and mutants. Pleasure worlds exists but that's only for the highborn, fat, rich and privileged of society within the Imperium, Agri Worlds maybe just giant farming planets but your just constantly doing work for hours on end and if you stop you'll get shot, War worlds which are active warzones like Krieg and sometimes the Imperium send people from overpopulated Hive worlds to these planets. Feral Worlds where ever type of wildlife on the planet wants to kill you, Feudal Worlds you are basically living as a peasent in the middle ages with your imperial oversear watching from a space station above. Even the returned Primarch Roboute guilliman said that the Imperium of Man is nothing like the empire he helped build 10 thousands years ago, it is a corpse of an empire filled with death, betrayal, fantic religion, backstabbing scheming bureaucrats, barely holding together.

thanks for the info! i never new the odsts were called imps but its actually fitting given their all black and grey armor, and the amount of crazy stuff they can get up to. as for the Kig-Yar actually have multiple sub races i think i just blanked that from my memories, but thats really cool in itself, they really did make great enemies with such a diverse fighting styles. (Looking at the Skirmishers from Reach and their near constant jumping, sniping, and car dodging butts.) as for Halo vs 40K I would definitely agree to rather live in the halo universe over Warhammer. the average human is pretty screwed given the ever growing threat of Xenos, Traitors, and Heretics. I should have been more specific in that for all the bad things happening in 40K the imperium never really loses, even when they do lose battles or skirmishes. Yes Orc WAAAAGH's besiege large sectors of space, Tyrannid swarms eating away entire systems, and the ever present Chaos turning good sons and daughters of the Empire into mindless demon worshipers, But for all that they never really lose anything. Lose a planet to the Orcs? well we just retook a planet back from them, sure its covered in fire right now as we burn the spores away, but still, its ours again. Tyrannids devour a forge world? well the Imperium's forces just found a few lost Feral ones, lets nuke it and get to building, Ave great omnissiah. Heretics slowing down war production? the inquisition would like to know your location please. for all the bad things that happen to the average Human in 40K, the Imperium lives on, hell the Eye of Chaos just split the galaxy in half! and the Emperor was all like "Damn, better get my son to clean that up before it stains" where in Halo the UNSC and Humanity were both exhausted of resources and manpower. the Human-covenant war as far as I know doesn't have a set death toll, but we can guess it was in the Billions if not more for Humanity alone. before the war, humanity has settled on over 800 worlds, with 210ish making up the inner colonies. we hve the names for 33 worlds that were glasses but by the end of the war, its stated that the majority of the outer colonies were glassed with little to no survivors. the Imperium still remains standing after 10K years of degradation and neglect. with parts of it still trying to expand to new and old worlds. Were by the fall of Reach, Humanity's end was all but guaranteed, were it not for a faithful few that held the line. this is all to say, I wouldn't want to live in either world, but 40k is worse for the individual, Halo is worse for all humanity.

@@sirrydragon Holy crap, I didn't think you'd respond so quick! Quick question: What if before the Battle for Reach but right when the Covenant discovered the planet, the Prophets signed a truce with the UNSC in order to focus all of their attention on the Banished? Do you think Thel Vadamee would be able to defeat Atriox with the likes of Tartarus, R'tas, and other significant Covenant members under his command? How long do you think this war would take, especially considering the Nova Bomb Gray Team is carrying to a certain Sangheili home planet? EDIT: Okay, sorry, that question was not quick...
@sirrydragon
@sirrydragon Год назад
Hehehe Tbh I'm not normally awake right now so lol, lucky timing. As for if there was a truce or at the very least a cease fire, I would come down to the brutes working with the elites in any effective capacity. The 2 groups never got along for a variety of reasons, most prominent being the elites control over the military and having equal seats in the Senate (outside the 3 great prophets, and the religious and historical casts) with complete control of the military, the elites had best pick of everything, guns, shields, ships. Where the brutes were given second hand and often failing equipment. The famous line the shipmaster gives over the ark "their ships outnumber us 3 to 1!" "Then it is an even fight!" Isn't an ego, well it could be, but it's also fact. The elites were better trained, better armed, and in better ships, the numbers advantage couldn't save the brutes. The banished could and probably did use this to their advantage, raiding under defended locations or even getting these brutes to outright join him. This, added into the culture clash of elite honor over everything VS brute might makes right, and you have big problems. It could be stated that the vast differences between how the 2 races were treated could be to why so many left the covenant for the banished. Well that and atriox kept winning and I said brutes respect might. The arbiter is a badass, both on the battlefield and in the operations room. But even he can't repair the distrust a lot in the covenant held for the brutes. Maybe with a few of the more competent leaders he could come up with a attack plan or at least a defense, but the problem is we don't know how much the banished had during the height of the covenant, and how much their strength we see in hw2, infinite, and the comics coming out after the covenant imploded and they scavenged the leftovers. Add on we know the covenant was, while not collapsing, at least under immense strain from the prolonged war with the UNSC. Tldr from what I know right now I give it 65/35 covenant, banished, and in the morning I'll try to edit this into a more understandable read. Thanks for the question, feel free to send me more, I love this stuff.

@@sirrydragon Anytime, and as we know, in 2552 if the war ended before it reached...well, Reach, then a LOT of things would've survived, and have given humanity a decent edge. 1: An entire company of Spartan 3s, Gamma Company, 300 Strong, would still be available, and since the desperation of the war is gone (for now) they would have more preparation, more training and investment. 2: The Advance of the Sabre Program. 3: More ODPs could be erected around Reach, Earth, and other remaining human strongholds (if the Covenant/Banished war takes years for the Covenant to win) 4: The Infinity sets to sail, along with all the Mantises, Stridents (though not in 343's godawful toy art style), alongside the Pillar of Autumn 2 Class Cruisers, chock full of Sabres, not to mention MAMMOTHS, which are absolutely capable of killing a Covenant ship. 5: The decoding of the data that is central to the plot of Halo Reach, which would inevitably spark an expedition to Installation 04 WITHOUT a Covenant Armada tailing them. Which would mean relations with a FAR more cooperative 343 Guilty Spark would commence. 6: As the Covenant would withdraw from Meridian if they were already on the planet at the time, the Luminary that would've led them to Earth would go undiscovered. Also, the fact that the Prophets gave up trying to kill the Humans would give mankind even more legitimacy in the Elite's eyes. But as the pressure from the Covenant disappears, bad things will also rear their ugly head. 1: The Insurrection might try to rise up again and try to win their independence 2: The Spartan II Scandal would've eventually seen the light of day 3: ONI's shenanigens might actually start pissing off a lot of the wrong people, aka we get what was promised in "Hunt The Truth." 4: Potential Civil War, which might end in the UNSC's reformation or destruction, or ONI setting up a blatantly totalitarian society that REALLY screws things up, or it just continues, weakening humanity until the Covenant or Banished prevail against the other. Different Spartans would pick different sides, 3s would more likely choose ONI, while 2s and the more experienced Spartans would be less indoctrinated due to operating for so long. 5: Humans might become a significant part of the Banished forces if Atriox decides that this race that apparently put up so much of a resistance that the Covenant GAVE UP trying to exterminate them, even temporarily, would be worthy members of the cause. Humans already existed in the Banished, but this really only depends on if many insurrectionist factions get desperate enough to strike a deal; fight for the Banished in exchange for their independence. Also, if the Prophets gave the Brutes more rights, not replacing them as the Honor Guard but allowing qualified individuals to join, and giving them a say in the Covenant's council might stem the tide when it comes to Brutes joining The Banished.

You probably right on quite a bit of this 1, So I think it would be a lot more spartan IIIs than that as there was the company that was on reach during the invasion but also a company was destroyed in the weeks leading up to the invasion, so you could have close to 600 or more spartan IIIs still kicking around for training, gear upgrades, and missions. 2, the sabre program was in full swing in the lead up to the invasion and put on hold during it, we also know noble 6 was a test pilot for it, meaning it probably had ties to ONI. The problem is while the sabre was a great design and effective, it was overall to expensive for mass production because of the shield tech. What probably would happen is a production of sabres with the shield tech would be built for earth, reach, and a few other important places while the rest would get a mass built sabre without the shield tech so the could have, while not a superior fighter, they would still have a quick action intercepter for the most of their ships and military instillations. The mass built sabre would also be able to have shields installed later on as they became cheaper to build. 3, I would def bet that the UNSC would push out more supermac platforms around earth and reach. Though I would hope they would maybe make some anti-air or anti-fighter platforms as well. I always found it strange considering the tactics the covenant use, the UNSC never invested in more AA methods. We see some in reach, but the platform we are on in Halo 2, has some basic anti-ship guns like 50mm Auto cannons in the background but it doesn't really seem to have a way to stop smaller ships from attacking it, and boarding it. So hopefully with the time to invest, they would better their defenses. 4, I can see them pushing to finish the infinity ahead of where it is in Canon, but it would be a very different ship to what we see. With covenant still out there, even if they were fighting another force, the UNSC would want a military equalizer, so we would see little to no science/ research corps on the ship, while the spartan ops, marine corps, and navy ops would take over their stations so the infinity would be a purely war ready ship. We would also probably see the eternity, infinity's sister ship, be completed and maybe even be a mobile command station for UNSC highcomm like admiral Hood. As for the stridents and mantises, we run into the same problem as the sabre, with the shielding being to expensive to mass produce, in Halo canon, all stridents are supposed to have an energy shield, but because of the costs of building and maintaining them, as well as the energy needed to run them, most were pushed into service without them, with the idea being retrofitting them at a later date. Mantises would probably be pushed out the same way, with all or almost all of them missing shield generators. I think the UNSC would probably push out several refit marathon cruisers considering how effective they were in battle to work alongside the new autumn class, we would also probably see Paris and stalwart class get pushed out a bit deal with the numbers disadvantage. 5, without the threat of the covenant following them, they would likely send a whole fleet to investigate. And any smart AI, Cortana or not, would make quick work of figuring out what Halo was for. Guilty would def be much more friendly without all the organics fighting and damaging his ring, and without that fighting, the flood infestation may never happen or at least not threaten the whole ring. 6, from what I remember, they had already found the luminary so they may still show up either way, hopefully arby, or one of the other council members would ask the UNSC before just blindly jumping into sol, but they also may not get the chance given the prophets known incompetence.

SOEIV: Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle. ODST's are Paratroopers on crack. Fun fact: the Chief isn't actually "better" than other Spartans in terms of skill or ability, just more well-rounded. In pretty much _every_ area, there are many Spartans who are better than him. Spartan-III's were taken (on average) at an age of roughly 4-6 years old with ones like Carter (11 years old) being the exception rather than the rule, and are just as powerfully enhanced as the Spartan-II's. Contrary to what some claim, it's actually the _Spartan-IV's_ that had watered-down augmentations. The Reach AR is the MA37, predecessor to the MA40 from Halo Infinite. The height range of the average Grunt/Unggoy is roughly 4' 6.5" to 5' 6". They're not as short as people think.
@sirrydragon
@sirrydragon Год назад
Damn, tellin me all that "Chief is better" is just ONI propaganda and fan base opinion? seems about right. Yeah, ODST's are Paratroopers on crack, but I couldn't really think of a current world equivalent. I guess maybe the NightsStalkers or Generally the Navy seals when it comes to training, could have been a better comparison. I new Carter was one of the oldest to be recruited, but also always though since the Spartan III's got a slightly cheaper, More adaptable, Modular armor, they also got a different Augmentation setup. Since theirs was Via Drugs rather then aggressive Surgical Implantation. but I checked Halopedia and your totally right it seems. Only Implant they didn't get was the Thyroid implant that makes the Spartan II so tall. Thanks as well for the reminder about the AR, new it was an older model, just couldn't remember what one. and yeah, the grunts do seem really small but their not that small. but I guess thats a little bit of POV Bias fropm the games and playing as a 7 foot tall Super soldier hehe.

@@sirrydragon The Chief's strength is that he's good enough to get by in any role rather than specializing in any specific field, while lacking the weaknesses you tend to find in more specialized soldiers. Noble Six is likely the same, since anyone who primarily works alone would logically need to be able to cover all their bases themselves.
@sirrydragon
@sirrydragon Год назад
so the old statement of Jack of all trades, master of none huh? makes a lot of sense too, considering the missions we know 6 was sent on, and the chief often being part of a team of specialists means he can work around them or in tandem without being a determent.

@@sirrydragonthe Jack of all trades lable applies to at least one other Spartan ll besides Chief, Fred-104. Fred is very similar to Chief in this regard, except that he usually came in second in about all categories (even Chief wasn’t thst good). The main thing that held him back was that he didn’t like being in the spotlight (that and Chief being super lucky plays into it).

@@sirrydragon I would imagine that in the end of the animation, the battle is slowly tiring Six and he soon gets overwhelmed. From what I recalled, he has been fighting nonstop against the Covenant after the Pillar of Autumn departed for days before he died.
@sirrydragon

very little sleep, we know he got some rest between the games missions but we also know there were a lot more battles not shown, including the one at the base the last mission takes place. we know he walked there, or at least most of the way there, and that he was part of the final fight there before everyone died. so I imagine from the mission where you go back to sword base till the end of the mission of lone wolf, hes been fighting near nonstop for several days at least, probably without much food or water, and very little sleep if any at all. Spartan IIs and the original batch of 300 Spartan IIIs were trained to go without much food or water, and next to no sleep for days as part of their advanced survival training. idk if 6 got it as well, but his overall skill level, and what little we know about what he did before noble as one of the very few lone wolf head hunters for ONI and the UNSC, meant he was very much a cut above the rest. Personally I think if his shielding hadn't started to fail and his helmet crack and become inoperable, he very well may have killed dozen more covenant. sadly given the fact he was getting hunted by Zealots for much of the level, the attempted assassination and very real assassination of Kat, we can assume he was a priority target, the destruction of the Forerunner structure under sword base, and then the crippling of a Covenant cruiser + the Autumn's Escape, basically meant they would throw everything they had at him till he was dead and gone.
