Everyone draws attention to Chief in this scene but honestly Lasky is the MVP in this scene. Chief is doing what he's expected to do and has trained almost his whole life to do, fight. Meanwhile Lasky is a normal man risking his life
The fact that Chief let him be the decoy knowing fully that it was equal to suicide. He knows he's stronger and more able to fight and survive the hunter, but he respects a soldier's will to go out on their own terms.
Brandon Stevens Individually, no, but the Mgalekgolo constructs combine their mental power to achieve immense levels. In fact, it took full-scale orbital bombardment for the Covenant to subdue them, as they won every land engagement.
I get chills everytime the music cuts out as Lasky yells out "AXIOS'" and then blairs back up louder then ever as he's running for his life. This movie/show is so much better then the current halo TV series, no idea why people disliked it.
Did you know that in the soundtrack its the same name as the song 🎧 being played in this scene 🎬. “Axios” by Nathan Lanier Also its the same music 🎵 used for the trailer of the live-action movie 🎥 The Legend of Tarzan.
@@Netzpatron I can understand why most people don't like most stuff prior to the covenants invasion, but I believe that there is plenty of stuff to keep you entertained till the climax like the Marine training. I absolutely adore everything from the moment the invasion starts, we see how terrifying the covenant actually is which is something I don't think halo hasn't done, sure ODST could still be scary but that was more atmosphere rather then anything else
I don't care what anybody says about this film, it's literally one of my favorites, and I'm a movie buff. There's just something about the tone set, and the deeper message that makes it feel like more than just an action film with aliens and shooting. There's stuff like loss, survival, and even some romance that I rooted for. I've seen this almost 12 times and I will never get tired of it (Thank you Netflix and DVD)
***** it would be awesome to have a live action film with Spartan 2s,their history and their first actions while they were still under 18 years old :/ .... ahhh im still hoping for that day to come(a Halo movie that hit the Theaters one day) i believe Halo have a more interesting and cooler universe than Star Wars,i like Star Wars but Halo would be more amazing if you compare what both universes have to offer)
NightmareRoach They were built like 18 year old olympic atheletes even before the genetic alternation, the reasons why his voice is deep is because most people watching this think he is 40 so they would stick with it
The epic part of this is it's both a Lasky scene and a Chief scene, both being badasses. The HALO Choir playing when Chief stands up and squashes the Lekgolo worm, because the movie knows Chief is the Chief.
i love the fact that they did this and you see all the damage the hunters gun did then theres the actual game we are just running around the hunter hitting it with the butt of our gun…….
How can one scene be better than the entirety of one whole season. With a multi million dollar budget. Lol best part is john is probably younger than lasky and the rest of the recruits here. If you look at it time wise
I'm surprised at all the negativity? I thought this film was pretty good actually. Nightfall was atrocious in my opinion. People are entitled to their opinions though. This scene was epic as hell to me!!! Music was spot on, Daniel Cudmore as the master chief was a perfect fit for him considering he's a 6'8 260 ib athletic beast. They didn't use his voice though. Which was fine by me as Alex Puccinelli sounded okay. Do I think it could've been better? Sure I do but to say it was terrible is harsh in my opinion.
Alex Lindberg Nightfall was awful; I didn’t just NOT like it, I hated it. I enjoyed the Ex-Spartan character but it did little to make me care about Spartan Locke or his team. The special effects were awful and the script writing lazy. This actually made the covenant scary and a force to be reckoned with and like the Halo games was grounded in Military Sci-Fi.
Nightfall was shit all they do is kill one nekgolo worm and betray a member of their team and one dies but this movie really expresses how scary the Covenant can be. Especially the sangheli and lekgolo
I remember thinking this movie was just "ok" with some cool Master Chief parts. Now that I'm watching the snorefest that is Halo Nightfall I'm starting to appreciate Forward Unto Dawn much more.
GodDAMN, this series really didn`t have that much action, but what it did have was freaking awesome. Glad they decided to show the chiefs agility instead of only on His strength and durability, there are enough people Who seem to think He is a near immobile tank as it is.
Alright. More than 2,5 m big. Weighs more than 800 kg with mjolnir amor. Moves like a dancer. Best portrayal of master chief I have ever seen. Holy shit man.
I feel as though a halo movie with Steve Downes voicing the master chief would be nice. I don't think that would be too hard to do considering you wouldn't have to worry at all about lip syncing
+wisethought24 They said that in the Audio Commentary on the DVD, Master Chief is almost the same age as Lasky and the Cadets but want to make his voice feel more older.
2:30 - 3:00 I want this to be the way you assassinate a Hunter (albeit normal speed) in Halo 5 onward. Would really showcase the mobility of a Spartan in game
One of my favourite films and good to know the backstory of how lasky and the master chief first meat and what the chief does to the hunter perfectly illustrates why the Spartans especially the chief are the best.
Mgalekgolo (Hunters) worms are like the good version of the flood. they don't infect living stuff, they can interface with circuitry and they can combine to form more powerful smarter forms.
yep.. still better than the flood though.. untamed Mgalekgolo just want too eat you, the flood takes over and lets you watch your mutilated remains kill your friends while your slowly fading away on the sidelines of your mind... *Shivers* I Hate the Flood!
Yeah... A bunch of worms grouped together like massive muscle fibers, and wearing armor weighing multiple tons, and carrying a tank grade cannon. Aaaand the panic is back...
the fact that they so suddenly put the word "axios" in like this just made me laugh of pure joy. if you don't know the history behind it. you can't really understand how good this scene is .
In all my 25 years of movie experience nothing will ever compare that 1:15 scene. From the act of heroism to the terrifying stomping/grunting sounds of the hunter. Absolutely perfect and magical. This should have been shown in the cinemas. This was the last great depiction of the halo universe. Game or movie. This is where it ended for me personally. AXIOS.
So, what I like about Forward Unto Dawn was that it had a purpose: to introduce Lasky and show a decent live action Halo series/movie. Perfect, no. But I like how it tries to stay true to Halo. It respects the mysticism and the humanity of John and the SPARTANS, while showing the start of Lasky’s character development.
that was the most amazing thing ive ever watched...so amazing that I had to come to youtube and find the clip and watch it 15 more times......chief is one athletic 15 year old
…so: never played HALO in my life, and we all know films based on Video Games have a pretty poor strike rate. BUT: this film was different and better than most of its kind. Maybe not knowing the lore actually helped, but was able to easily embrace the larger themes (war, duty, loyalty, loss, struggle, stoicism, etc.) and take it all seriously - for me, this was like a great variation on Starship Troopers (the book more so than the movie).
if you watch the film you will understand that before that , the cadets give ammunition at master chief because it has all use on the first and lascky gives grenade (sorry if I make mistakes I do not speak English)
I love how master chief is only like 15 in this. His armor is still the Mark IV which does not have any shielding. He fights well, cares about the cadets, and finishes the mission. Also, I truly respect the studio for not showing the master chiefs face, unlike the TV Show. That’s part of the mystery of master chief.
The guy playing Master Chief in the suit is Daniel Cudmore, who some of you may remember as Colossus in the X-Men movies. He's about 6'7 in real life. Chief is actually about 7'1 or 7'2.
So.....I guess the concept of Lekgolo worms detecting technology wasn't even thought about for this movie seeing as the Hunter was straight behind a Mjolnir Armor and 2 Cadets with their weapons active.
i think the build up to the master chief is good. the other characters provide this excitement where you can live vicariously through them as if it was your first time meeting the master chief and having no idea of his badassery. I think it worked well having the main perspective coming from that lasky guy. It gives master chief's presence much more meaning and weight.
You can tell this is really low budget. The intense fog during the entire Covenant assault, the scenes where they obscure the enemies, even from at a distance, so that it _only_ focuses on the main characters, and the mind-numbing amount of slo-mo shots, which is typical of low-budget productions, etc. All that being said, this actually wasn't a bad series, especially for a first time effort regarding live-action Halo. Its a shame Nightfall sucked royal ass in comparison. Its also a shame that almost none of the actors from this show have really done much else since.
Lets talk and be real the halo tv series basically destroyed halo but his that came out 9 years ago has better action not great now but great for the time cgi and more compelling characters take lasky we had a full game where he was shown to be someone who never left any of his crew behind and always took the hit for them and this shows us how that happened he was selfless and instead of cowering and waiting for the cheif to kill the hunter he acts as a diversion and saves his remaining crew by getting the hunter to look the other wat so that he wouldn’t find his crew thats where the tv series went wrong it not only had no like able characters but it failed to see what made halo halo which is their characters and what they’ll do
blusgaming picks Oh, that´s THE Lasky from Halo 4? I thought it was another one. I thought these whole series happen after Halo 4. Because the Flood doesn´t appear, wich means it happens after Halo 3, but the Chief isn´t any more frozen in the Forward Unto Dawn, wich means it must happen after Halo 4. Right? Or does it happen even before Halo CE?
***** Oh, this explains everything. Well, except one: Why is the serie called Halo !4! Forward Unto Dawn if it doesn´t have anything to do with Halo 4?
