Imagine being a marine and seeing not only a spartan but Master Chief himself getting bodied and thrown into space like that. Probably the most demoralizing thing possible.
Or the most rage inducing sight of seeing ya boy getting mollywhopped. Atriox is lucky no odsts and marines were there or he would get focused fired to got and back.
@@ColdNorth0628 lol.. did we watch the same footage? Atriox would’ve quite literally ripped their limbs apart. If he’s able to manhandle Chief and his multi-ton armor like a rag doll, ODST and the rest would be equivalent to bees annoying a human at best; in the end, it’s only take a single swat.
The fact that Atriox was a Stalker explains why he is always jumping out of nowhere to tackle his enemies. A Brute that makes his presence known right from the beggining, is "easy" to deal, now imagine a Brute in power armor, highly skilled in combat and with strategic approaches, only making his presence known when he is already on top of you.

@@Kyla-Stormhazard kinda reminds me of the hulk vs thanos fight from infinity war but better. @@jameswallace7091 "Chief didn't get bodied" Chief got disarmed instantly, got 4 big punches in that Atriox ate with no problem, and then got tossed around like a child. My mans got bodied hard.
I appreciate how they had chief lose without making him look weak or dumb. Even though Atriox got the jump on him, he still blocked that first hit, fired a shot that almost landed, got multiple hits in, and tried to grapple back on to infinity after being thrown out.
Let’s be honest chief would’ve gotten his ass kicked even more if he successfully grappled back .. he needed that break without a doubt He’s not ready for atriox
God just look at the speed of those jabs and that uppercut, imagine how good the fight of Locke and Chief could’ve been if they actually moved at those speeds, the speeds that actually represented them in the lore
To be honest if 343 makes lore accurate to H5 then Locke 100% will not be able to even get single hit to Chief, let alone to broke Chief visor. What happened in Halo 5 is just bullsh*t.
Don't get me wrong, I thought this fight was awesome but it's still not accurate to Chief's speed haha. Realistically speaking, he'd probably be about twice as fast. That said, I think it would look a bit cartoony if they went for that
Just a reminder that in the novel First Strike when chief first encountered a Brute, it is shown just how strong they really are and how they can easily overpower Spartan II’s in hand to hand combat. Chief nearly got his windpipe crushed in by some random no-name brute so it’s no surprise that Atriox beat him here.
First Strike conflicts with primary canon far too much. That was not the first time the UNSC met Brutes. Nor was Reach the first time they met Elites, like Fall of Reach implied.
@@BunBun299 It was the first time that Chief fought Brutes, though. The UNSC first encountered Brutes during the Battle of Harvest in 2525, one of the first encounters with the Covenant.
The fact that every damage he took after his shield was knocked out, makes all the damage he took from atriox more real. Hell the fact that he held up that much shows the difference in their armor, between chief and the other Spartans in halo 2
"Your new armor's shields are extremely resilient, very efficient. Much better than the Covenant tech we used for the Mark V.” - Master Gunnery Sergeant, Halo 2
Considering how Atriox was able to hit hard enough with his hammer to make members of red team go flying off their feet, I'm impressed how MasterChef was able to block and take a hit from Atriox an still punch back. He really is the greatest Spartan.
John actively corrects people when they call him the best. "Best known, we're all plenty capable". Based on statements by the man himself, Fred is probably the best overall Spartan by raw performance (not by achievements). Although Kelly is substantially faster and Linda has the absolute best aim.

@@samuelthompson7497 Sure its a brute so maaaaaybe a brute could survive being shot more then a human. But if the bulllet was inbetween his eyes? No chance. Hes a goner
I generally agree that Chief should've been able to put up much more of a fight. But I completely disagree with those saying Chief should've wiped the floor with Atriox. For one, Atriox is not your average Brute. He's intelligent, far more cunning, and a much greater threat to Spartans in general. And Brutes are already capable of severely wounding or even killing Spartans. No doubt this is setting things up for a round two, and I'll be looking forward to Chief getting his payback.
Plus, Atriox showed up when Chief was distracted by another enemy. Chief isn’t able to tank the attacks from several regular Brutes at a time. What helps him overcome the odds is his ability to avoid attacks until his shields recharge and he can go back in for another attack. He’s able to outlast his opponents rather than outmuscle them. Atriox didn’t give him a chance to do any of that. Chief didn’t have much of a chance here.
"And Brutes are already capable of severely wounding or even killing Spartans." well yeah...if the Spartans just stand still .... lol. A chieftain can(emphasis on CAN) kill a Spartan though, but if an average brute does it then he just got lucky.
Seeing atriox and the chief live up to their lore in cinematic fashion is really satisfying :) I've been wondering where the heck is the spirit of fire! What happened to them!? They can't just get me attached their story and not have some kind of closure for them :(
Apparently the Spirit of Fire crew is still on the Ark fighting the Banished forces there. With Atriox himself eventually leaving the construct through a 2nd Ark Portal found on Reach by the rest of the Banished in the Milky Way.
@@stanislous137 Atriox is around 8'6.5 and 1.400lbs, nothing that pushes the limits of the Brutes size. But the thing is Atriox is unnaturally strong, smart and on top of that, he has a power armor. Locke's voice acting didn't have that little bit of human aspect needed to be added to make him a bit more likable, specially to Master Chief fans. Just what I felt. But I feel like, in a real world scenario - both Atriox and John Locke would find that they can work with each other than with Master Chief and the Spartans on Chief's side. Interesting fact about the Spirit Of Fire is that they are the FIRST ever UNSC force to face the threat of The Flood. They have helped evacuate Arcadia when The Covenant was at their peak and they have experience dealing with Forerunners also the first ones to face The Banished too. The Spirit of Fire crew are probably the most experienced and battle hardened UNSC crew compared to the Infinity’s.

I remember in the First Stike novel, Chief comes across a random, no-name brute and gets his ass kicked. He barely wins the fight after almost dying. So him not being able to beat Atriox (the baddest Brute of all time) seems pretty consistent.

@@ianvoltaire7099 No they did not have energy shields. Energy shields is based on the armor not the generation of Spartan lol. The reason Mark V was so important is because it introduced shielding for Spartans. This is all info from the first book. Although there is a weird lore thing where 343 said Red Team got "experimental" shielding on their Mark IV but I think they rescinded that.

They weren't even full power. He took 2 hits to the dome and most likely had a concussion. In the lore he can punch through tank armor and send a banshee flying with a punch.
He definitely got the wind knocked out of him if you watch closely. As surprised as he was, he got mad and gave up on swinging his weapon as the windup is too long and would probably get him beat up more, so in normal brute fashion he just goes for a punch.
The sheer disrespect as Atriox just casually drags Master Chief across the floor and slams him into the warthog. Like god damn 😂🤣 think it’s one of the moments in halo that made me laugh
The thing that excited me most in this scene is I think this is the first time I can remember anyone ever using those shielded hangars to throw someone into space. I've thought about it since battlefront 2 (the original), and to see it finally actually happen made me unreasonably happy. Atriox roaring into big bad status was cool, but I literally couldnt stop thinking about the hangar door thing after it happened.
yeah its not as common as you would think, I can only really think of two examples 1. in the original force unleashed game you can throw rebels and stormtroopers into space in one of the first levels 2. in the first season of star wars Rebels the main character slams a pirate into the vacum of space

Watching Atriox beat the shit out of Chief while wearing spartan/ODST armor was quite painful ngl. Still really cool, at least it's more lore accurate.
It wasn't all that painful for me I was expecting this because chief has won so many times almost never seen to Struggle against his enemies except that one brute in the comics who almost crushed his throat
I see all these comments about Master Chief being in the viddo but if you listen carefully the names of the spartans in this video are Jerome, Alice and Douglas.
You see, I’ve been saying that it gets boring to see Master Chief man-handle enemies like they were nothing. It’s refreshing to see that our hero in green is just a man, and that’s why he’s the best. Humans aren’t invincible, Spartans are just augmented humans. No matter how scientifically modified we become, there’s always something stronger than us to remind us that we aren’t invincible. But just because we aren’t invincible, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t just give up. No, even after defeat. Chief gets back up for another round, and that’s what I needed. To see my big boy in green get knocked down, only to show that he’s determined to get back up…learn from his mistake and remind the Banished. Why humans don’t go down without putting up fights
Chief considered himself the machine of the 2 between him n cortana. He is not an ordinary human. He is a super human with born fighting genetics only to be enhanced even greater

Chief losing to Atriox is very possible and believable. Random Brutes are FUCKING TERRIFYING and can tear apart any Spartan II in hand to hand combat. You expect Chief to go up and win against the most cunning Jiralhanae, who's got YEARS of startegy and fighting experience, and who managed to convert an entire company of Convenant "Silent Shadow" (Covenant Head Hunters) to his own cause?
@@blackrose8418 if Chief and Atriox were to start 100 yards apart and go at it in daylight, Chief would probably win. Give him an assault rifle, a few grenades, and some distance and I don’t think Atriox could 1v1 him. Atriox has a completely exposed face that Chief would 100000% exploit.
Let's not forget, Chief was almost killed by a flood when it latched onto his neck choking him until Cortana used his suit shield to kill it, also Chief was almost killed when a Brute before Atriox, was choking him until he curled his legs in and then kicked flipped the Brute off of him, Chief has had many close death encounters where his life was almost ended, like the Halo ring when he was trying to escape before it explode and same in the 3rd ring with Arbiter, had he not made it in time he would have perished.
When chief punches atriox all that played in my head was” those hits where ELITE”. Hurts to see him get tossed but it gose to show how strong chief is. while red team got obliterated even when there was 3 of them chief held up pretty well standing alone and off guard.
I can never unsee this, when he picks up chief they're standing on the balcony. 1:16 Then it cuts to Atriox standing on the edge of the beam after the camera passes the broken railing, I used to think he teleported (which he does, camera trick) and the walking animation was excluded.
MC vs Atriox was good, but wished they showed how much Atriox is such a threat with Spartan IVs fighting as well and still getting their asses handed to them. Essentially Atriox vs Spartans V.2 for the ones that didn't play HW2.
Fun fact, Masterchief weighs 1000 pounds, Atriox lifted him with one hand, leading me to believe that 1000 pounds for Atriox are nothing more than lifting your book full + lunch school backpack, so when John fought against him, it was obviously going to end bad, Masterchief weighs 290 pounds without his armor, and he can lift three times his body weight, that is 870, and the powered exoskeleton system Mjolnir armor has some accelerated kick to it, John is strong, super strong against humans/ODST and elites, and brutes, but compared to Atriox, he is just strong, I like these odds, since it makes John even more admirable, considering that he managed to stand up to a super brute, and get a couple of punches in there while he was at it. Still, he can be beaten down, but he can't be held down, John survived guys that would simply mop the floor with Atriox's beard, he is either getting older and more tired, or the developers needed something that would cause John to be in the situation that he is in, for there to be gameplay that we could have. Masterchief will die someday, but it won't be by Locke, that I know for sure, or in the words of Sargeant Johnson, "one of these days you're gonna land on something as stubborn as you are, and I don't do bits and pieces" but I even doubt that.
Thanks to their implants, Spartans (especially II's) do not feel much pain. Atriox's hammer hitting Chief at 0:43 made him groan in pain, even through the armor and half shields. A lot of people underestimate just how strong Atriox was in hand-to-hand combat.
HALO Wars 2 cutscene development and design is hands down the best of all games. It is so good!!! Those designers, developers, engineers, and whoever made the decisions need to do every HALO cut scene. Hell, redo the entire series with this team. So good!!
When chief can take hits from a amplified melee weapon multiple times, yet I'm here in halo Infinite getting killed across the map with a gravity hammer.
One, the fact that atriox was able to lift master chief’s half ton suit with ease like it was a apple is crazy that just shows how strong brutes are. And Two, Atriox used the energy blades on his mace on master chief as soon as they fought that show how much of a threat he considers him and Chief’s armor took close to no damage and the shield took most of it while red team’s had a massive hash on the chest that shows how much more the strength and tech of his suit has advanced
Reminds me of the Halo Legends, where they first encounter the elites and MC swears to make himself stronger. It'd be interesting to see a "Prototype" armored MC re-engage Atriox
Atriox: my face will be the last thing you will ever see! *Chief points at the explosions behind him* Chief: no, my helmet will be the last thing you’ll ever see. * jumps out into space and survives*

I do wonder if Atriox knew it was the Master Chief he was fighting. I'm inclined to think he didn't know, as he shows no sign of realizing that the Spartan he's up against destroyed two Halo rings, stopped the Didact, and massacred countless Covenant soldiers. On the other hand, he may have known and not said anything, but it seems odd that he wouldn't acknowledge it. Maybe to him, the Chief is "just another Spartan" ?
