@KEVIN the reason why Joy put some sugar in it because the original halohalo does have ube haleya, jack fruit and leche flan on top..not ice cream..and most of the desserts here in The Philippines are sweet... that's why.. 😉

I think it is a lot much better if you mix it already before giving to them. Though it will be a lot of work but it will make the experience for them a lot much better. Kudos kabayan for representing our culture/food there . ❤️
Halu-halo, yes its all year round dessert/refreshment but when summertime comes there so many sprouting Halu-halo store. Even in front of their houses , they set even a small table ( especially students to have exta money when school opens ) to sell halu-halo, samalamig and some street snacks.
