The endless would assume the mantle without the fire runner and ancient humans. We were the key the forerunners were wrong for what they did with the rings and the Endless Will now seek revenge and be the hardest shit to kill in all of Halo they already seen forerunner like but a step below probably but they will go ahead of them.
Mast Chiefs should receive a suit upgrade now he’s moving onto to 4D breing battles almost so idk just seems far fetched to have beaten the iso didacc and the harbinger but his durability is the best he fell from space I gotta see somebody else do that
Honestly, I like the take they did with weapon especially since she is technically an AI who never interacted with anyone else besides Master Chief and the pilot. There is instance where she is sassy and chief never really corrected her, just letting her do her own thing. It's not like Cortana who been on multiple missions with Master Chief + interacted with other human leaders. Although Chief is the silent type who speaks little, it great when he lost for words when Weapon cuts him off before his usual response habits.
They did really well with showing the stamina and durability of Spartans. Power punches, sent through a tree, and smashed into a Boulder and he's immediately back on his feet trying to take aim
RIP Despondent Pyre. She seemed really cool. She has a lot of character building in the Forerunner audio logs. Hopefully Adjutant Resolution can learn from his mistakes and actually help Chief and The Weapon later down the line.
ok so 1: the flood are still on the ring 2: something worse that the flood is there too (possibly mendicant or the primordial) 3: the endless might be a retconned precursor type species 4: that is 500% not a prophet and I have no idea why people thought that 5: if it is the primordial and/or the precursors, this could be the perfect opportunity to eradicate the flood once and for all
The primordial (the last *known* precursor) escaped zeta halo after a test fire on precursor artifacts. It also managed to transferred some of its corrupted conciseness to the flood before being killed by the didact if I remember correctly
Its said if the endless got free Offensive Bais is to activate to engage them. Think on that the most advanced and powerful forerunner war AI is to turn its attention to them if they break free while the forerunners were losing badly to the flood that's some scary food for thought that the forerunners considered them that much of a threat
The cutscenes in this game is really well made, I like the transitions from 3rd person to 1st and vice versa. Not to mention the lack of loading screens makes it even more immersive.
Worst than halo 2 anniversary which were better story telling devices and pre rendered. Halo always been has been about lore and world building until 343 ruined it, even though they have 1000s of possible scenarios they could have created, 343 don't realise 343 guilty spark level in halo 1 is halo at its best and it's in their bloody name.
It's gotta be precursors, introducing another race that the mighty forerunners feared more than the precursors themselves wouldn't be good. Very late edit: or at least something related to them, and the endless may be just that.
Bro. They literally built rings to nuke galaxies in order to starve the flood. It’s gonna be REAL tough to make me believe there were “worse things” contained within the rings. 343 just wants to make their new bigger bad than the banished, and I hope they can make it work.
@@digiv3nom Same, specially as in the lore and books, the only major war they fought was the one they fought with the precursors, after wiping them out from both the milky way and surrounding galaxies. Precursors were huge beings aswell, nothing like what is shown in this video. Theres been no mention of any other race in any of the lore that was dangerous. There are a few examples of aliens in the forerunner lore but none have the level of power displayed here. I hope they don't make a bad enemy.
the 'Reformation' maybe the Endless' way/event of reforming the Mantle, unlike Reclamation which is an event of a species reclaiming it. The Harbinger did say "You are not the future", which implies that humanity does not deserve the Mantle. That's all i could nitpick about the Reformation from this video.
@@forwarduntodawn. harbinger could also be part of a species that failed to obtain the mantle and they think the precursors were wrong and thay they deserved it more than humanity out of the same type of arrogance the forerunners had
The new enemies are called tue punished?? Right can they be the meddlers that hidden Xperia that called those other Allen's we never saw I'm so hyped omggg worse than the flood omggg
@@creativename3707 yeah if the Didact hadn't let his ego and flood induced insanity cloud his judgment chief he would have used his gravity manipulating weapon to snap chief's neck the first time he encountered him
@@shadewolf0075 Actually, i was talking about how Cortana had to hold back the Didact so John could sneak that pulse grenade into his armor. And when the Didact had Chief on his hand, ready to kill Chief, but got shot from behind by Static Carillon and then got teleported to the control room of Installation 03
What I like in this scene is that the chief's moves change according to the weapon you wield when entering the cutscene. I had a plasma blade and he tried stabbing the Harbinger a couple of times.
To be honest, I kinda hate that the Flood are now essentially considered chopped liver, like they were built up to be a galaxy, potentially universe wiping threat that forced the Forunners to extreme methods, and are now just downgraded to mentions, like what the hell.
@@funkmantim2661 yeah. Kinds dumb since the primordials made the flood to wipe out all life. Even with the hyper advanced human empire the aciemt San shium empire and then the forerunners all not being able tonstop them. Makes Zero sense "something worse" is around. Considering literally everything in halo that has happened and has been created and destroyed and recreated was all because of the flood threat.
@@Cobravenom69 id say the primordial itself is worse same with the precursors maybe the harbinger is trying to bring the primordial back and if thats the case the galaxy is in big trouble.
That was kinda the point. Infinite was made to be a giant call back to Combat Evolved. Though it’s kinda hard for me to consider anything beyond Halo 3 to be canon. 343 just keep creating new major enemies and scraping after one game when they could’ve expanded on their lore.
Im pretty sure the closest thing halo has to the gods known as the xelnaga are the precursors and i dont think even the precursors could travel between universes like the xelnaga could.
The Flood have the potential to be extremely dangerous, but until they have a Proto-Gravemind they're basically just zombies. Cortana may have been referring to something more _immediately_ dangerous, like, say... an intelligent alien species apparently with teleportation and lightning powers and Forerunner-level advanced technology.
@@mercury2157 Well we now know that they are the only ones along with the "precursors" to control living time. So well... Either they are the same thing or they will have to make a nice excuse for a species more advanced than foreruners and ancient humanity civilizations.
Now theres this thing The Harbinger. The Harbinger(Halo Infinite) and Khan Makyr(Doom Eternal) give out similar vibes. What do you call this trope ? what kinda trait does those 2 characeters gives?
@@funkmantim2661 This is installation 07, also called Zeta halo. This is the oldest currently existing ring, and part of the original array of 13 much larger rings.
Not Precursors Those were weird shapeshifting space things that got either vaporized by the Forerunner or willing turned into the material that would evolve into the Flood
Worse things than The Flood!? THE HALO ARRAY WAS MADE SPECIFICALLY TO COUNTER THE FLOOD!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WORSE THAN THOSE WALKING NIGHTMARE FUEL!?!?
You know most aliens in Halo are kinda ugly but in a cool way. But this Harbinger, if she is a San'Shyuum or whatever an Endless is, then they truly were fairly good looking and cool. Like you can only look at her face and call it alien or exotic, but not ugly in my opinion.
and you know it cant be satesfying because the chief has to win trying to make something worse then the flood does not work since it has to get its ass kicked by the chief
@@YourLocalLeadFarmer I hope so tbh. Ik it'll end up being a cashcow ultimately but there's a ton of potential: being set on a halo ring/semi open etc.. I'd buy dlc for this if the campaign is at all stomachable story wise. I think from what I've seen and MP the gameplay itself looks pretty fun.
The monitor says "the punished". I don't think the Forerunners would consider the Precursors "the punished"... I'd assume this pertains to something related to the Didact, like the Promethians exactly. Since the Didact and his Promethians can be considered "the punished".
One flood spore can destroy an entire planet. Now imagine something /worse/ than the flood. The flood which made the forerunners create galaxy killing super weapons just to /stop/ the flood from spreading. Even they couldn't completely destroy the flood... so again. What's /worse/ than the flood?
@@FakeJeep nothing… I suspect it will be bad/forced storytelling to push this “harbinger” (she doesn’t even seem all that interesting and her dialogue sucks)
Ah, so we finally meet 117649 Despondent Pyre (note she was mentioned in Point of Light, finally revealing her name). Though I like how she doesn't say, "I am one one seven six four nine Despondent Pyre." That would be quite a mouthful XD
@@creativename3707 She does actually have one, it was mentioned in Point of Light, it does follow the scheme as the other monitors (7 to the power of Installation number minus one). Aka 117649. They likely didn't have her say it because it is a long number aka a mouthful.
@@austincrouch2019 In the 'terminals' you can find in CE anniversary theres a couple in which an unknown species crashes on 04 with no survivors. Aaaaand I've never seen that acknowledged again anywhere lol
I think its more likely that the harbinger could be a Prelate. Basically the prophet equivalent to a spartan. She may have been exiled or left the covenant to take the mantle for herself. We havent encountered a single prelate yet and this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce one. I really hope she doesnt just belong to some unnamed species.
@@nax4448 Nope. I played the original one from 2001, and the 10th anniversary version. Never played the MCC. What I meant, specifically, was the sound of the shield recharge. It reminded me of Halo CE because of it.
“Something worse than the flood…” huh?! The primordial?! I’m so hyped. Also, I think the voice actor for Harbinger is the same voice actor for Savathuun from Destiny 2
Could also be mendicant bias, but it is questionable if he is worse than the flood. Alternatively, offensive bias could also be an option, as he managed to defeat mendicant bias and severly cripple the flood, almost single handedly, but then, he was the good guy, so there aren't many reasons for him to become an Enemy.
Almost seems she was referring to The Harbinger and The Endless. They seem like a lazy, boring, shoehorned new villain that 343 wants to make a bigger bad than the Flood to make their own mark on Halo. We want the Flood or Precursors, not some new faction that has never been mentioned before.
@@MTStingray revealing such a mysterious and interesting species like the Precursors in a game would feel inappropriate, i would 10/10 rather the Flood. But i also hope this 'Endless' can bring the same amount of mystery.
@@EggEnjoyer no, i meant like how revealing the creators of life in the universe in a game feels off especially if it'a centered around chief, if they want to reveal the precursors i would rather a forerunner-based spinoff game detailing about them, my wording kinda fucked in my first comment there
Well the primordial is giga dead due to rapid aging, he became the grave mind after essentially uploading his mind to the flood hive mind She could be talking about mendicant bias who still is alive, he was punished by the forerunners and could possibly regain access to the entire forerunner arsenal for Cortana
Harbinger's design and voice immediately makes me think of Doom Eternal's Khan Maykr. And now I can't stop imagining how horrifically Doomguy would have massacred her, Atriox, and pretty much every major foe in Halo.
No matter what they say she is def not more dangerous then the flood. The fact Cortana would even say after being punished and corrupted by the gravemind lol
Unless the endless are precursors. The stuff the harbriner does (time manipulation and mind raping a marine) sounds like neural physics and the logic plague which only the flood and precursors could do.
@@RinsedCheeks number company belittling flood bro. I defended them after 4 , hated 5 and then got excited afyer the mp beta , which was fun but they are actually going to pull this shit, dont be surprised they made master chief a side character in his own game for diversity.
@@AkshatSTR8EDGE So I just watched the cutscenes, maybe Cortana wasn't referring to the Harbinger when she said that? Perhaps the Primordial? But if they literally throw out years of lore for the sake of diversity I would be VERY disappointed... I'm so fucking sick of this shit in entertainment.
@@RinsedCheeks yep maybe the lack of flood got me preemptive raging. Who are the endless though? We have to deal with sjw crap in this world now lets just deal with it but focussing on the matter of hand. The endless one, also i had a theory that the name infinite has to do with time itself, maybe the universe has an endless cycle, precursors create and flood gobble them up and maybe its all a part of the precursor's plan, explains the hostility from forerunners. And in one cutscene chief was gone for 3 days as the weapon said. Either there is a precursor or an ancient gravemind in some sort of a prison and it def has something to do with time.
It's funny because the Doomslayer would have no trouble with this alien. Teleporting around like that is nothing new. Summoners in Doom did the same thing. But then again the Slayer is a demigod beyond Chief anyway.
so guessing that Harbinger is the "Meddler" who released the flood on the ark? the endless is probably the harbingers race that worshipped precursors and hated forerunners. And whats worse than the flood? The Primordial. Dont remember if he got released before though
i don't care what point 343 is trying to prove by saying their new enemies is worse then the flood, no matter how many new enemies they try an ad in, there is nothing more terrifying or unique and more fun to fight then the flood, a very thought out enemy and even there spores are the most dangerous part of them because you cannot shoot them. and with the Harbinger, they just look like every other alien you would get mixed up with every other game.
For an enemies that's suppose to be a bigger threat than the flood, I wish these "Endless" had a better design. Something more intimidating. The skimmers look goofy
Okay, I take issue with Cortana implying that the punished are worse than the flood. If that is what she's talking about. She certainly isn't talking about the harbinger. Flesh and blood, all will be consumed.
What could be worse than the relentless and savage remains of the precursors (The Flood) than the living primordial gods of the universe (The Precursors) which were mostly forced into and annihilated in another galaxy by the forerunners?
My initial thought was the Harbinger is an ancient San'Shyuum. Now I think it's a Forerunner. It named itself "Harbinger of the Truth". It could be wordplay or it could be the actual name. Forerunners are known to name themselves as such. Plus those markings on its armor. Other Forerunners are named: Faber of Will and Might (Master Builder) Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting (IsoDidact) Shadow of Sundered Star (Ur-Didact) First Light Weaves Living Song (Librarian)
When Pyre was being attacked I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was as if a defenseless puppy being attacked by a much bigger predator. RU-vid has scarred me and it killed me when i saw Pyre just floating there in pieces.
Oh wait yeah!... They said the Harbinger looked insect like.... But... The Precursors were said to be able to change their form at will.... hmm... interesting.
@@generizze6243 Your fully aware this is the same race that let themselves be exterminated by the Forerunners right? They’ve been at all stages of evolution.
