Enjoying these live action ads really makes the universe feel real and that it’s not just the Master Chief there are thousands of people that work behind him to make sure all his gear works to make sure he can work at his peak

I was waiting so patiently for her to just be yeeted across the screen.

Doctor: “So what are your injuries?” Woman: “I have a concussion and abroken arm.” Doctor: “Why do you sound so proud when you say that.”

She's crying from so much happiness. "Think of all of Master Chief's sick 360 air no scopes!" *Continued uncontrollable happy crying*

First a soldier sharing his story of how gruesome and mentally damaging the war is, now a backstory to how things are manufactured and produced, and how exhausting it is to do just that, by the engineers who spend a painstakingly amount of hours providing us, the players, the tools to win and dominate our enemies. Bravo!

The glassing of Arcadia part hit me on another level. Imagine living in this universe, waking up everyday, not knowing whether or not the Covenant will find the planet you are on and glassing it. Any day could be the last. Mad props to engineers like her, and the millions of brilliant minds of humanity that helped developed the tools for the UNSC forces to help defeat the Covenant, and save humanity from extinction. I wonder what archives we'll see next?

Whoever came up with this pre-launch release series of these little stories needs a massive raise.

The care that has gone into Halo Infinite really shows why the game is trending over other titles. Halo really feels like its back.

UNSC: A grappling hook is stupid and won't have any useful traversal or combat capabilities. Engineer: Bet.

The grapple, while a physical object, is also a metaphor for her and her daughter. Her daughter is UNSC, probably a pilot, flight crew, or works on a freighter that resupplies UNSC planets during war. You can gather this from similar previous videos where soldiers have taken videos in their bunks. She's young, and probably has a low level position on a crew or ship. The mom, as a civil engineer, struggles to make a weapon that will aid Spartans, which in turn, help aid UNSC citizens and service men and women. The grapple is a metaphor for the mother's inability to be close to her daughter and protect her from harm. You can see this subtly hinted at with the riddle, with them both agreeing that no ship in the fleet can "travel that far". The riddle is very nuanced but you can see by their reactions, that they both know the distance between them is too far to cover to see each other at the time. The addition of the news of the glassing of Arcadia. It's the same type of news that a military parent, spouse, or sibling might have a non reaction to after probably listening to many news stories about UNSC losses and the internal realization that the person they love could be next. She's basically selective listening to find out specifically if it affects her daughter. You can tell she's done this many times, as she has virtually no reaction to the new of an entire planet being glassed. The mother obsessively works on the device and exercises to keep her mind off the stress of her daughter being in harm's way, even ignoring her daughter while she works to accomplish the completion of the grapple. She is very emotional when it finally works. Like she is relieved that she made something that she knows will help protect people like her daughter. After she completes the grapple, the focus turns to them being able to meet again in person and the story ends with a happier note. The grapple is a metaphor because it helps cover great distances, not previously able to do, to get to the place or object you are trying to get to, or to bring to you. It deals with a feeling of powerlessness, and how we cope to try and circumvent that powerlessness.

I can't help but cry over this one. Halo literally make me crave the human advancement so much that I have had a life long dream of engineering a cheap and all in one prosthetic. I'm glad to finally say I'm working in the medical field as a Medical Tech and taking my first welding / mechanical engineering classes. Thank you for helping me become me.

I really like this kind of thing in Sci-Fi. Most Sci-Fi franchises / stories (that I've consumed anyways) that centered on a piece of technology (Power armor, mechs, ships, etc) tends to forget the sacrifices and effort made by people who contributed in it's development. This sort of stories that focuses on the lives of those people and the dedication, sacrifices they made shows that Master Chief heroics were made possible by the sacrifices of these unsung heroes. Good stuff 343.

Like the last video, that Halo campaign has a special message: heroes aren’t so by themselves. Humans united can do better and help each other. We create our heroes.

This definitely hits different for anyone that’s ever built/invented something from scratch and they finally get it working. It’s euphoric after so many failures. Had my moment in spending months on programming a project of mine in C#.

I love how she smashed into the wall clearly showing how a making a wrist attached grapple that can fling a 900 lb Spartan is quite the challenge

this just makes it feel like the grapple shot wasnt an after thought, like it has a place in the universe and isn't just copying an idea, it's implementing one, I love this.

As a PhD student in engineering, I really appriciate this portrayal of how tech is made/how science is done. It's an ugly process and never goes exactly how you expect initially.

The Scientist lady was really hurt in the last test, but the joy of success overcame the pain and she still smiled while feeling pain knowing that her grappleshot is complete. Really shows you the work and dedication that goes into building MasterChief's MJOLNIR Armor...

People still trash on 343 because they have rose-tinted glasses for Bungie. These last two 'UNSC Archive' shorts have really put into perspective how much love, care and passion has gone into Halo because of 343. If people still have qualms about who the game is being made by, I present you these last 2 videos.

I LOVE the emotion from her when she hits the wall, she is great.

The absolute joy she felt at the end was contagious. Last video I was crying tears of sadness and this one it's tears of joy.

As a college student who dreams about developing prototypes and technologies, it brings me to tears seeing a research scientist not giving up and having support from her daughter all the way until she succeeds. My family came to America for a better life and so many sacrifices were made.. I can’t believe I made it this far to be the first to graduate from college within my family and their support.

After playing for 20 years. This feels like we're finally going home.

These live action trailers featuring ordinary people who don't have suits of armor protecting them from the harsh realities and dangers of living in the world of Halo give the series a sense of realism and humanity that is hard to find in a substantial amount of Sci-Fi media these days. Great job 343, the fans are more than grateful for your incredible work.

As an engineer this actor portrayed the dev&test engineering process to a tea. When she finally got the grapple shot to work I truly empathized with her reaction.

Holy shit I cried from this one. Whoever filmed her smiling at the end did such a great job conveying that emotion of catharsis.

The moral of this is pretty clear. Just like their ancient namesake, the Spartans never gave up. Their dedication was contagious. So she never gave up either.

The fact that a seemingly simple piece of equipment had so much energy, effort, and time put into it is honestly astounding. It really makes you wonder just how many bright and intelligent people had to come together in order to make the Master Chief's armor.

That whole time I was thinking “She’s going to lose her arm”, but that sheer joy of success…. Priceless

This is exactly how expanded lore should be done. Not making the games rely on the expanded lore to understand the story but rather reward them with more information to small interesting parts

Imagine how stressful it is trying to finish a design for military equipment when entire planets are being massacred and glassed every day. You probably think to yourself “if I hadn’t overlooked that flaw, if I could just finish it a week earlier, it could save people.” You know how expensive this gear is, son?

God, when she started laughing after all those mistakes and to see her results finally kick in. Couldn’t help but laugh with her when she saw it work.

Just when I was rewatching the Campaign Trailer... The Hype is real!

All the marketing for this game really makes you feel like The Master Chief is a beacon for humanity fighting in the names who fell during the wars he fought in and carrying the technology from the genius minds that hope to make a better and safer future, war-free.

Epilogue: After test 79, her arm was nearly ripped from it's socket and was immediately concussed after slamming into the wall from what was suspected to be from multiple attempts. Luckily, after insistence from her daughter to install a health monitoring system [as she would be working with industrial grade equipment], local paramedics were immediately notified after the incident. Despite these precautions, an emergency access authorization to her abode had not yet been established and took an additional 43 min to access. These moments were critical. As her stabilization, while successful, caused for great alarm and was likely the cause for her two weeks of being unconscious. Her daughter was notified immediately after the incident and requested that she be informed after she awoke.

Thanks to her, we'll have Attack on Titan modes for custom games.

It's so sad to hear a civilians perspective of just listening and hearing that an entire human world was destroyed, whereas a similar situation would be those who heard about the world trade centre attacks through their radios and televisions. Honestly great marketing, I absolutely love how this is grounding the universe so much to almost a real life degree of believability.

She is the reason why everyone was able to make crazy trick shots with the grapple. If you make amazing trick shots with grapple, thank the woman for making it.

Definition of going crazy: Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. This definition goes out the window a test 78.

The sacrifice that the engineers and scientists had to go through in order to make each part of the Mjolnir even function should never be underestimated or forgotten.

Catherine Halsey would be really proud of this lady, due to her dedication and patience in improving the MJOLNIR Armor.

This is gonna make me appreciate the Grappleshot so much more when I play Infinite.

I certainly prefer the marketing so far from the last couple of games. It's less about building expectations of amazing action (is halo, were know it'll have action) and more about expanding the lore outside the game, whilst all tying into it. Keep it up, I look forward to the next one.

I can't believe I'm joyously misty-eyed over seeing a hookshot slam a scientist into her wall. This is some fantastic work, guys.

I’m blown away yet again by not only the quality, but the believability and the ability to evoke such strong emotions out of these trailers.

As an engineer myself, this hit me. Right in the heart. Most of the times when we do things on our own things don't work, but we keep doing it (as some might call "insanity"), until it suddenly works. That's the best feeling ever. There are times when all you have beside you is you. No one believes that you will succeed which makes the success even more special. I love these little stories. Please keep em coming. For the first time we see what goes behind the scenes into making the greatest weapon humanity has ever built, wore and operated by the finest people.

The grappleshot was already the most hyped new thing in infinite since its' reveal and now there's an emotional attachment for every use. Also appreciate the Arcadia reference. Halos' marketing has always been a legendary thing and Infinite is continuing the tradition

Didn't the beginning say she was a civilian as well. Just a complete wildcard of a project. She even thanked UNSC for rejecting her idea. I liked the news broadcast motivating her to finish. Just imaging the millions like her trying to do something to contribute to the fight against the covenant. Living in fear of being Glassed. Pretty great video 👍🏼

We no longer see this much care and heart going into a game. I’m proud of 343. Halo is standing on its own here, I don’t see anyone else giving this kind of effort and care. I feel like they finally understand Halo. Let the doubters doubt and the haters hate - it’s clear to me and many others that Halo Infinite is shaping up to amazing.

I love how these live action trailers are going over events and gear that we, as players, take for granted in the games. Their hard work, sacrifices, and ingenuity to make things work seamlessly and being shown separates Halo from other FPSes in their marketing

A feeling I've had for a long time. And this UNSC Archive video proves it yet again. It feels so real. That's why we love this series. This franchise. This universe. Because Halo is home.

They've honestly been knocking it out of the park with this marketing campaign. It's enough for this jaded old gamer to actually get a little bit excited about an upcoming title again.

This worldbuilding is absolutely phenomenal. Really makes the Halo universe feel alive and like defeating the Covenant really was a collective push of all of humanity and not just the chief.

When she finally got the grappling hook to work I actually got really emotional. This video got me invested and attached to a character in less than 5 mins. Bravo to all who made this possible. I can’t wait for Halo infinite and whenever I use that hook I’ll think of the woman who never gave up and worked until her ideas and dreams became a reality.

When people would say 343 doesn't get Halo. Stuff like this shows the opposite. 10/10. Who's ready to save humanity?

I think these are great it’s kind of replacing how you had to read the books to know the lore.

I love the nod to Reach's Hungarian stuff. Mágnes means magnet. The scientist also has the same fake-Hungarian accent Reach colonists and Jorge have.

I love seeing these side stories about everyday people in the Halo universe, we get so caught up with Master Chief that we forget that the events of Halo affect everyone. I would love to see more tv series, movies, or even spin-off games like Halo 3 ODST telling the story of different people dealing with the Human-Covenant War and everything leading up to the events of Halo Infinite

Making me care and feel about the equipment we'll be using is actually awesome. It's simple and effective. I cannot wait any longer for this game

The thing I like about the 'Archives' is that it shows nothing is done in a vaccum, with out the technitions, the scientists, the engineers whom all helped make the Spartan project become a reality be it the technology to augment the Spartans, or build their armour Halsey would have had.. nothing, the Chief would not exist. Warriors never exist alone, they are the sum of those whom support them and our hero's are born from that. It's nice to see 343 showing that those behind the scenes are just as important.. as those whom fight on the front lines.

See that concussion, that's a concussion of success! But seriously though, I'm so happy to see a marketing campaign like this for Halo. I was happy to see the Believe trailer's back in the day, and even happier to be around still for the Become trailer's.

What you're making is incredible, 343. The music, the actors, the story, it's all so powerful. Thank you, and I hope there is more!

by the prophets, this was unbelievably good

For me it is the way she reacts when suddenly the grappleshot finally works, that's a great actor and a good moment. Being a regular person also helps to feel the moment without a bias for a recognisable face.

Its amazing how well they did creating this character and making you care about her in only 4 minutes.

Each and every single one of these trailers... makes me so damn cry, like I can see each hands, each painstaking mind to think and advance each technology from the absolute basics to what it is in becoming the tools and arsenal 117 carries, uses and holds.

Well done. This is why I love Halo: running and gunning is great, but it’s the personal stories and the depth of the universe made by them that makes us care.

The moment the grapple worked, the music, the build-up, everything just clicked. This is amazing.

She was so intent in this idea, so sure it would work, that she never gave up. She worked and tested and strived through sheer determination to make this BECOME a reality. I think we've all been there, at some point or another. Fantastic videos.

This is what Halo is about. Giving story, meaning, and feel to everything to show the struggle of humanity as we fight impossible odds. Halo has to take itself seriously like it's a real story that is happening in another universe. Halo 4 and 5 really started to drift from that and the games felt like they didn't take their own story and world seriously. Build the world, the reasons, the people, and show us what we're fighting for and what we've already lost. Halo Infinite is looking great keep up the good work 343. Keep up this great marketing as well.

Honestly, this reflects to an unmatched degree the emotions when you do a proyect in Engineering. And the overjoy at the end really is true, you shout like a madman and smile like no end when the thing that you are working on finally works.

This shows me a Halo tv series in the 'expanded universe' could work, separate from the Chief. It looks like they had to make a real working grappleshot prop. Interesting. They're doing pretty good so far with marketting. Now we just need some ODSTs.

I’m glad that they didn’t play the end for a joke. They so could’ve easily had her fly off screen and wearily say “welp, it works” but instead they showed the most genuine human emotion. Joy after a trial. Fantastic job 343

I love how her cardio workout of choice is the row. It's so silly. "Hey guys, what about, instead of having her run on a treadmill, we have her on a rowing machine?? Y'know, because it kinda resembles a grapple!" Not trying to knock it. I really do like it. It just makes me giggle.
