I know I said that after the last video the PS5 comparisons would begin, but I did not remember that the Halo MCC patch was released for Xbox Series today. I promise that in the next few hours and until Monday you will have more than 25 videos focused on comparisons with PS5. Regarding this video, we must clarify certain things. The Xbox Series version runs at 120fps by default (no 60FPS option). Unfortunately, I do not currently have the necessary tools to measure framerate at 120FPS, so I apologize and promise to get on with it as soon as possible. Series X runs flawlessly at 2160p resolution (except Halo 2, which drops to 1800p at times). Series S however the high framerate means that it does not exceed the resolution of 1080p. I think 343 should have given a 4K / 60FPS option, as Series S is fully capable of running it like this. Both consoles have seen their drawing distance increased, approaching the PC version in that sense.
7:30 Thank you so much! I finally have actual measurements of how Halo 2A runs awfully on Xbox one X since the Halo Reach update! Almost a year ago! Thank you thank you!
I can't believe how bad CE and H2A STILL run on One X. 343 is such a piece of shit company. Somehow nobody seems to notice or talk or care about the campaigns horrid performance on the One X either
It’s more like... Chief: Grenade or cliff? Jackal: Wait let’s talk about this! Chief: Fine, you get both. Chief chunks grenade and Jackal dives off the cliff at the last possible second but still takes the hit from the grenade.
You could be watching in 340p and still see the SETTINGS change even if you cant see the pixel sharpness change.. People like you ruin games by not paying any attention.
@@AdorablePeach23 Jokes are supposed to be funny.. Not overused clickbait BS statements, that SOME people with a poor sense of humor think is funny and other people use as fanboy fuel to hate on something.
@@Napster60 well to be honest I am usually very observant when it comes to game graphics but i couldn't tell any difference between any of them apart from load times. don't make out there was somehow vast differences and we are too stupid to see them because there wasn't. maybe if I could stream 4k on my internet i may have seen a resolution difference between the images but that would be all. oh and obviously the older machines have some fps dips that the new machines don't but image quality wise they are the same.
Great vid! Very interesting to see such a clear difference between the One X and Series S at 4:40 and how easily the Series S keeps the 60 fps. I'd rewatch this if you put up a 120fps comparison one to see the full potential of the Series S in the game's current state.
Graphics are nice but what is most important is smoothness of play on a good resolution. To me 1080p at a better fps is better that 4k at a lower fps. I've been gaming for over 30 years and choppy gameplay no matter how good it looks sucks. The Xbox series s is awsome at 1080p and so far older games on the series x look and play amazing at 4k.
@@jasonrobert3849 that happens whenever you have an HD-TV that is geared towards a certain resolution, so if you go from 4K to 1080p, for some reason 1080p looks worse than if you have a TV meant for 1080p. i think it's mainly due to the fact that 4K is 4 times the pixel rate for 1080p. i remember when early 720p flat screens used to look pretty bad on standard basic cable stations that an older 2000's TV's did a better job of, it's why when we first got our first flatscreen back in 2007, basic TV stations looked pretty bad. so we ended up keeping this old 25inch Magnavox TV from 2000 that were gonna replace our brand new 32inch Flat-screen for, but since my dad wasn't much of a gamer, we used it for watching TV. they got better once the networks started going more HD so it can match the resolution of your screen, in the past TV's were used to standard resolution, if you wanted a little bit better quality 480p on certain tube TV's was the only way you were gonna get it. Sony was the last to make a tube TV, and that was 2004. by 2005 most manufacturers were starting to make flatscreens. but i remember some people didn't like them at first, when i first got a 360 in 07 i was still using an old 20inch tube TV that was in my room at the time. so going from that to my first ever flatscreen which was a little smaller than my parents in 08 made a world of parents, however i was used to gaming on old tube TV's, so while the picture was alot nicer, it took some getting used to playing on a flatscreen. Halo 3 on a flatscreen felt different than what i was used to, now it's second nature. people now a days all about buying the biggest screen, me I've played on a 60inch it's not a big deal, but i tend to go no bigger than 46.
I upgraded from One S to Series S and wondering if I can get improved graphics playing, e.g. Halo. If MCC campaign is now available in 120FPS, can a Series S do this at 1440p with a HDMI2.0 connectivity?
@@sinakiani4026 I believe series s is at 1080 and 120fps. And you don’t need hdmi 2.1 for that. HDMI 2.1 is only needed when you want to play games at 4k 120 on the series x.
They did a great job with the visuals in Reach by getting rid of that nasty motion blur from the 360 version. Even on the base Xbox one it looks really good.
On Series X you have to boot the game with the console set to 60hz however, or the game defaults to 120hz and you won't see the option to change FOV in the menus. Also halo CE FOV doesn't seem to work if you play online coop campaign. Works fine in solo. Not sure if this affects other titles but I have played halo 3 and the FOV works fine in online coop.
I have been playing video games since 85. Almost all systems have passed through my hands. And I'm a proud owner of an Xbox one s ... I didn't need more. This console has been a grim beast when it comes to graphics. And one of the best ever in terms of performance and functionalities. Too bad Microsoft had announced it so badly in the beginning.
yes, 343 released an update today and it is not fixed yet, this problem started when they released halo reach, there are a lot of redit posts talking about that, they havent fixed that since last year
Halo 1 and 2 have been broken like this for almost 2 years and 343 won't even admit that there's an issue. They worked fine when the One X enhancements first came out.
Playing 2 anniversary on the one X could be rough. I often changed to the og graphics because the frame rate would tank in big fights and areas. Especially ones with with alot of see through stuff and lights. And you could tell the resolution was tanking. And it still ran bad and had horrible screen tearing. Really hope that's not a problem with the later game one series X
Its awful on One X and it happens throughout the campaigns of CE and H2A. 343 is the most disrespectful, lazy pos developer ive ever seen. Never seen this kind of thing happen b4 with such important games. It also blows my mind that Microsoft executives havn't stepped in and forced them to fix it.
I been playing on pc with everything maxed even the extra stuff on the video card itself i cranked up to the max i wonder how it compares cause its insane on pc.
I mean ur also watching this through a compressed smartphone format. I have a series X and I can’t tell u from first hand experience that it’s jaw dropping (:
I honestly couldn't see a spectacular difference until the Halo 2 footage at the end. yes, it looks ALOT smoother, specially during the more "action filled" sequences were the computer's processor has to work a little more. but is it worth 500$? Honest question because I'm still on the fence.. leaning toward nah, save dat money
@@professionalpoopyhed both CE and H2A used to run at almost a locked 60 fps at 4k on One X. When Halo reach was added they broke the framerate in that update on the one x and over a year later never fixed it!
Was so happy to play it but my series x is turning itself off when I start halo or borderlands 3 the rest works fine strange hope they fix this sometime
It seems like the Series S should be able to do 1440p and 120 fps with its specs. However in comparison, the Xbox One devices have more frame drops, Halo 2 Anniversary has a reduced resolution and split screen modes are very unstable. The PC also had had an option to boost draw distance, which might be on Series platforms. So even at 1080p, the Series S could be a much better option than Xbox One devices overall. A lower resolution than One X is tolerable if it comes with significant loading, visual and performance improvements
I really don’t see a difference between One X and Series S, I’ve taken screenshots to flick between and just can’t see it. Maybe need to watch on a bigger screen.
@FIYAH Starter From the fade overs here, I don’t see it. I can’t wait until cross-gen dies and developers start using the full Scarlett SDK ... a lot of people will be put firmly in their place.
@@AscensionINC-zi1jz Have to ask 343 that question. The system is more than capable, but as is the case since launch, Xbox have launched the S and hung it out to dry.
@@bobby_c07 and they never fix it! I don't know how they can get away with this. How do the MS execs not at least step in and force them to fix it? Halo 1 and 2 ...two of the most iconic games for Xbox. They used to work well on One X. They break it and then leave us with two unplayable campaigns. Its just disgusting behavior from this developer.
Do you have Saints Row 3? If so I think this would be a great comparison. A lot of people saying that and Saints row 4 now runs super smooth one Series S & X. It has quite bad framerate issues on Xbox One & One X.
0:22 it almost looks like the grass in the distance on Series X keeps disappearing then reappearing? Or is that just supposed to be shadows from clouds?
We need comparisons between ps5 and xbsx not all xbox consoles ... It is obvious that the latest release will be the best and the oldest the worst. Do you get there?
I was playing Gears 4 in the Series S.... when I finished it and started Gears 5, I was astonished! Gears 4 is still 30fps on Series S (not optimized).... HUGE difference playing Gears in 60fps!
I understand that the series x show more detail, but this doesn't mean anything when you're attempting to runnin gun in the campaign, this is already taking 100gb of my internal storage. Ill just keep it on the hard-drive.
The resolution is the same not upgraded to the X,I think we will see the X games next year look very impressive taking full account of the hardware and updates,It’s got a better core than the PS5 and will take a lot longer to integrate but will have a better longevity
Not really possible. I think the internal drive is encrypted. You could use a sata ssd via usb 3 which would be an improvement from the HDD but not nearly as fast as the NVME SSD in the XSS/XSX
Does it matter if I buy the MCC version for Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S if I want to play it on an Xbox Series X? Will the Xbox One version be patched on my Xbox Series X?
Oof now i see what they meant with One X performance issues. It looks like a Vsync bug because it sometimes just locks at 30fps. Funny enough, it also happens in the 120hz mode in SX/S, but it locks to 60fps sometimes when its supposed to play at 120fps
This is not how it currently looks in Series S | X because on November 17 there was a free update to patch the games to 4K, if you watch other Halo videos in Series X at 4K it looks beautiful and sorry to the content creator of this channel, I like his videos but he must have waited a bit to see the difference with the new patch, but I should update it in a new video because honestly with the new patch it looks very different.
Well, this just goes to show that, when advanced physics and ray tracing are not in play, the Xbox One X is still a beast that wipes the floor with the Series S.
@@philipplee78 actually, if you look closely at ground textures and fine details, you’ll see that the Xbox Series S is a match for the vanilla Xbox One/S, while Xbox One X matches Series X to the detail! The Series S cannot handle 4K like the One X can. Edit: I know it’s not supposed to. My point here is how great the One X still is.
I just don't see a reason to buy yet. Bit quicker to load? No exclusive titles other than what PS5 has to offer and I've been Xbox my whole life but it feels like PS5 is offering that next gen experience and that's what I'm leaning towards WHEN it takes me. Certainly won't be getting desperate to get one ASAP. Let it ride out and get some deals going. See what's what. First edition consoles tend to be full of faults anyway
Disappointing they never used any covenant area levels, Truth and reconciliation, high charity, halo 3 jeep run at the end of the game, halo 3 the flood, halo 4 the didact slip space ship scene. All would have been great for comparisons, instead staring at grass and fucking plants. They all look similar theres almost no difference between the fucking plants
