It’s kinda impressive how the AIM and the game sense translated from Cs:Go to Halo. Spending a huge chunk of my free times on competitive pc shooters was well worth it after all.
An essay of information, you say? :) I'm glad the comment struck you well, man. This video was great as well! It's really cool to see you improving and getting more comfortable with this content. From personal experience, I know how awkward that can be, so it's nice to see. Keep it up! I'm excited to see future episodes. The episode about aiming is going to be really cool. You already know all about crosshair placement, pre-aiming, and pre-firing, so seeing all those concepts applied to Halo is going to be neat. On the subject of aiming, I'm interested in how the sniper rifle is going to behave in MCC, across all titles. Will swipe sniping still be effective in Halo 2 for instance, or will high FPS and better connections mean more crisp, registered shots? I suspect the latter, and hope that's the case. On console I think we're all used to the small adjustments needed to land headshots; that shouldn't be the case on PC, ideally. That does bring me to my one suggestion for aiming on PC! Flick shots. They're very common in CS:GO, or any PC shooter, really. You can't go one match without watching one of the snipers on one of the teams whip their mouse and catch someone. These are pretty common on console as well, and they basically function the same. They're effectively quick scopes. In Reach especially, you would usually aim an inch or so to the left or right of someone's head, quickly scope in, move, then shoot. Not dissimilar from PC in a sense! On PC, really, the main difference is the range of motion you have with the mouse. Unless you played on 10 sensitivity on console, it likely wasn't common for you to whip a 180 and pick someone's head. But on PC, like you said Mint, you have your entire arm to aim with, so it's something people will have to adapt to. One thing I found on PC that helps with flick shots, is to not always focus on your target. To the best of my knowledge from Psych courses I've taken, if something is in your peripheral vision, your reaction time improves. So let's say you're on Guardian, running up Elbow to S2, and someone starts shooting you from Top Mid. In many cases, your focus will be on potential threats at S2. That's good! Theoretically, if you focus your eyes on S2, every other area should fall a touch out of focus, and there's a chance that you'll react to threats in those areas faster. I used to do this when I speed ran Halo back in the day. Pillar of Autumn is a good example. On Easy, the main worry was a Grunt or Jackal jumping in your way and wasting time. I used to follow an imaginary red line on the floor, and kept enemies in my side vision. When needed, I'd just flick the AR over, gun down a couple enemies, and keep moving on my line. Flick shots basically function the same way. At least, I've found they are a bit more accurate using this method. This may not be the most reliable tip ever though! I think it's neat and worth trying, but I won't claim it as gospel truth. The brain is a tricky subject and everyone is different. Mainly it's just something to think about :) Ooh, and one last thing. Halo players. 3 shots to the body, 1 to the head. Stop always aiming at the head the entire time! The Battle Rifle is a burst shot. It's like 3 or 4 bullets, not a single shot like the Halo 1 Pistol or Reach DMR. If any of those bullets miss, you waste damage. The body is huge compared to the head! Aim there and then pick the head! I see people make this mistake a lot and it irks me. Unless you're playing SWAT full time, then you can swipe your BR a lot at the head and one of those bullets is bound to connect :P Look at me go. I had 3 things I wanted to mention, and I wrote another wall of text. Sorry not sorry, brother :D
8:35 Bruh seeing the laser swapping strat on HO is so weird, hope to see a montage with some HO clips actually, would be kind of interesting from someone like yourself.
Personally played on 120 FOV. Don’t do it, but you feel really fast. I’d say H2V is kinda the best way to learn Halo on PC. I don’t think Eldewrito is personally. Halo 2 Vista is literally just a Halo 2 port. There’s also that deep mechanical knowledge that you can learn. At the end of the day, do what works for you, this has just been what’s working for me.
my advice to you is get an adapter to disguise a mouse and keyboard as a controller and play mcc on xbox or download the halo2 mod "project cartographer" cause the head shots on halo online are veryyyyyyyyyyyy generous compared to MCC or og H2(which is, obviously, a part of MCC).
Cheers bro. I've just started playing H5 Forge bundle on pc. Tiny population but I'm loving it. You ever given it a go? No mouse accel anymore btw. Why do you think people aren't playing H5 forge to prep for MCC on pc and infinite?
FOV doesn't affect accuracy as much as in CS because all Halo games on PC have bullet magnetism which helps a bunch. Note to new guys: bullet magnetism is different from aim assist, bullet magnetism is when your shots curve to opponent. On console Halo games they combine these two.
@WonderMePartyStrip I’m not going to make this long af cuz I could say far too much about that comment. CoD, was not actually the first game to have sprint. CoD 1 & 2 had no sprint and a 3 weapon scroll (primary, secondary, grenades). Halo 2 also was intended to have sprint, but Bungie dropped the implementation due to glitches, bugs, and time constraints. Saying CoD kids are the only ones that think sprint can belong in Halo is not only ignorant, but also flat out wrong. I think that it can be implemented well. My first Halo game was CE; that was back in mid 2004. I’m not some guy that’s immediately going to say something doesn’t belong because of bad implementation. Here’s a difference, related back to the topic that started. - Sprint is a velocity increase on the player model. - FOV is a vision increase on the HUD, which can give the illusion of additional speed at high angles. I like the feel of a high FOV. I also like the additional movement options that come with sprint. There’s no reason not to include it other than fans’ stubbornness and unwillingness to accept a change.
Good vid. Im just hoping the hitscan and low spread on the br doesn't discourage people on MCC with the real H3. I love both versions though if I could adjust the spread on the Halo online br just a bit I think itd be perfect in the sandbox. And for whatever reason I can't explain hip fire on the snipers feels a lot better than scoping in.
I’ll post my entire setup and what my gear is next video. It’s a medium tier setup though, spent around $1500 AUD Don’t need anything too fancy and it’ll last me for years :)
Your making me wanna make gameplays! You inspired me to get the mod! Also aiming on pc takes some time to get used to but its so much better than a controller! Id love to play with you!
Do you think headshot bonuses should be added into halo Infinite for PC? I've been playing a lot of PC fps games over the past 3 years and headshot bonuses are pretty much essential for keeping a high skill ceiling.
Halo online feels like trash compared to an actual pc game. Ive played halo 1 pc for over a decade and tried halo online once and hated it. Mouse movement feels delayed and capped 60 FPS doesnt help it. Cant wait for MCC
A community made a Halo game better than the current actual developer's. What an actual joke, good video, great Channel. But this series has literally turned into a joke lol. They fucked it man.
