with everyone wearing the same armor, the helmet in the prologue makes you assume it's just some random spartan's helmet until you realize at the end that it's yours.
@@JPmax4ever To be honest most players would be jumping into the campaign completely fresh their first time around so i reckon 90%+ players saw the standard Mark V [B] Helmet their first time through, giving the same impression as this video... And with Halo being a very Story focused Game especially back then the amount of players that would have pushed through ranks before running through the first mission is very low
@@acua3 i dunno as the first image you see in the campaign im sure most people wouldnt think too much past it at first as just another spartan helmet... Depends how must attention your giving the game i guess
this is why I miss the Spartan II's. The different armors and colors of SIII's and SIV's are cool in all, but the Spartan II's uniformity with just the olivedarb color and slight armor differences made them look so badass
Okay, seeing all of Noble team wearing the MK V armor and helmets is something I never thought would be great to see. Halo reach has an amazing, more grounded military art style that I love.
@@Orinslayer he actually wears his Grenadier still in this, just everything is green. I take that as his own armor is specialized to be ultra heavy anyway.
and an equally grounded story/theme to match. i think this is the only Halo game where we lose in the end and its not a power fantasy where you're mowing thorough everything as Chief, the literal definition of plot armor. this game was depressing, realistically grim, and hopeless from the start.
I'd be interested to see them all in Standard Mark V [B] with a few class defining traits too as well as Mark VI as Mark VI was when Halo went from 90's Generic Sci-fi design to a more grounded approach with more thought put into the designs without loosing that original art style Because to me the Mark V while classic still looks like it comes from a completely different game where as the Mark VI bridges the gap and fits in Reach's Armory better
@@drunkvax how u gonna tell me my opinions wrong lol + bungie made the games hence the saying games always come before the books and u can say that a book was released before a game came out but bungie were actively working on CE and had someone write a book based on their concept
I still can't believe how hard Bungie nailed Spartan helmets in the first game, Mark V legit has never been topped for me. Bulky, more simplistic looks are absolutely ideal for Spartan designs.
@@MA_KA_PA_TIE I absolutely agree. Opinions on Infinite's monetisation aside a lot of the designs in that game such as the Mark 7 (and non Spartan elements like The Banished, the marines and Forerunners) go back to a more grounded design philosophy like the early games and I'm very much on board with that
I think what's so cool about this is that you can still tell who everyone is by what they're using or the attachments on their armour. Kat uses the data pad. Emile still has his shotgun shells. Jorge is still bulky and has his gun. Carter has the commando attachments. And Jun still has his sniper.
I’m so glad to see that there are others who agree that Spartans look more iconic when they’re in uniform instead of a mismatched variety of armors. It makes a more powerful impression in every aspect, and truly makes them feel like they’re the same “species”. It also feels special seeing so many of them since we grew up with Chief in his iconic armor being the “last Spartan”.
The mismatch variety of armors can make sense. Noble Team in particular is comprised exclusively of specialists who would need specific equipment to suit their jobs. The brightly coloured armors though? Nah. All greens, all day.
Im just now realizing how much weight was in what Kat said at 21:36 Shows you just how intelligent she had to be to uncover all that information and keep it discreet, which is more than likely the reason Carter was able to read the entirety of B-312's file, which ONI themselves didn't want him to see.
I’ve played the campaign a few times with my friends (because most of my friends don’t play halo and I don’t have many friends anyway) and I remember crying during every Spartan’s death and my dad just looking over at me like I was crazy. I also remember responding “YOU WOULDNT GET IT!!!!” I was weird… might explain why I didn’t have many friends. But while after every death I don’t remember crying again until the next except for Jorge and that line
This is what I wish the Halo tv show was. Just Spartans running ops in a small war story. It didn’t have to be about Master Chief, oh I’m sorry, Master Pablo
Honestly, Spartans shouldn't be the main characters in something that isn't a game. They can be characters in it, but the main character should always be someone that isn't a Spartan.
Honestly wearing that armor in the opening scene when carter tells you that he “read your file” and to “leave that lone wolf stuff behind” hits different. Especially once you’ve officially lost everyone and six finds himself once again a lone wolf surrounded by a never ending pack of wolves. Really makes you think how the Master Chief will face his end
I understand the retcon of all Spartans using identical armor for the sake of the player being able to identify them at a glance (not that it particularly matters here as NOBLE is mostly III’s) in game, but this is still amazing
I honestly figure the best way to implement both schools of thought is to issue Spartans adequate Mjolnir sets on a mission by mission basis. If a Spartan needs the edge in CQB combat, they'll have CQB armour instead or if they need to perform EVA duties, they have the EVA set with the built in -music player- AMBAC device, but most of the time they'd be using the standard set. That way, by swapping out pieces frequently, the Covenant still won't be able to tell which Spartan is which, keeping the Demon and Spartans Never Die myths alive.
Considering they were 3's it shouldnt be too much of an issue that they are wearing mis matched armour. Most Spartan 3's were only issued SPI armour, only elite teams like noble were issued Mjolnir, and that was usualy second hand sets left over or recovered from fallen 2's
Damn, the story on this game really slapped. Brought the scale of how bad the covenant war was into vision. It could be part-nostalgia, but I still get goosebumps from the cutscenes
Nah its solid - the fact we watching it over 10 years later and still appreciating it says it all. I didn't like it much back then now I think they couldn't have done a better job.
Everytime I read or hear someone saying Halo 4 has the best story in the franchise I get dumbfounded. Halo reach might not have the best gameplay but the story is the most rounded properly made for anyone familiar and unfamiliar to the Halo Franchise. Just the story of a squad, an alien invasion and them meeting their fates one by one.
@@LeoFalcon I think Reach does have the best gameplay in the series.. The sandbox is the most refined it ever is, the AI is the best. It is just inconsistent and the campaign is a little flat in parts and not as memorable.
@@NobleVagabond2552I agree. It really helps distinguish them from each other, not to mention the fact that they just look cool. This looks neat too, though.
@@limewater4074I don’t think it’s a major problem that they showed off the customization options Reach had pioneered within the Halo series. I think they should have originally done a toggle option to have a “close to canon” look for Noble team, like we see here, and a “Reach Interpretation” version. This modder did an amazing job making the Spartans look closer to what they are described as in the books.
2:45 I think it would of been hilarious if Carter already had he's helmet on but put's on the other helmet as a reference to Chief having two helmets in CE.
It might fit the narrative of the books but bungie said even tho they like the book and what Erik Nylund did with it, nothing overrides the canon and precedent set in the games. It’s a smart decision cause you would want your general audience to understand the story and what’s going on without being confused. Outside of hardcore fans most people don’t read the books therefore if books were set in stone like the fall of reach then 75% of this game would be inaccurate and that would confuse and upset most casual fans, and the majority of halo fans are casual players. These are Spartan-IIIs so it makes sense that they may not be wearing the standard set the Spartan IIs we’re issued especially since noble team are all headhunters and are basically a special forces team level inside the already special forces nature of all Spartans
@@CantRead1 They're different stories, I don't know if I'd say either one is better than the other. I personally prefer the book, but you can't always fit a book into a game and the story made for this game fit the game.
@@CantRead1 I agree, I enjoyed the book but I wish the two could blend together, if they made some alterations where chief still received cortana at the end from noble six but he was not in cryo and chief still did some fighting just in different spots on reach than noble team. I like noble team and think they are a great fit in halo universe and it would have been cool seeing noble 6 hand chief the drive holding cortana. Maybe as a legendary ending imagine if you get a first person perspective of handing it over to chief the way the scene where the elites ambush you was in first person
seeing them all in matching Mk V is awesome. We never got to see Blue Team or any of the other spartans in matching armor and it gives a good depiction of what spartan squads would’ve looked like in actuality
I love this. It adds realism considering how expensive and logistically hard it would be to equip and maintain Spartans with separate armor models on an individual basis.
I think it may have been the people butthurt over how much of the game you had to play to get it. It wasn't cheap in the 360 era. Personally, I LOVE mark v. Shame then that it's probably gonna be 10 bucks in infinite.
This actually looks really good and makes sense lore wise since the mark V was basically the most recent update to the Mjolnir armor of I remember correctly and it looks really uniform with it being the base with person touches to everyone’s set.
Kats death is such a good scene. Such a good game. It really was ahead of its time by mountains. The way that they keep tension through the bickering of the spartans and the intense music the whole way, only to be suddenly stopped with the sound of a gunshot, followed by Kat's lifeless body dropping only to be caught by Your Character, and immediately followed by silence. Silence that is broken by a single piano note, and Noble Six's first reaction being to get a gun and shoot back. The way the rest of the team immediately and without a sound pull out their rifles, fall into formation and shoot back as well, even though they know its hopeless, its just all they've ever known. The civilians begging for their lives after they saw one of the so called unkillable super soldiers get gunned down right in front of them. Carter's body language in the end while holding his team mate's lifeless body, the destroyed city in the distance, the piano, all of it. Beautiful. There are games that depicted the horrors of war far better than reach ever could, but reach did in it's own more subtle way. Set back after setback, loss after loss, the feeling of being powerless in a war that you can't win on your own elicits a feeling of dread, because while still being a spartan, your no longer the one-man-army Master Chief.
Reminded me a little bit of a Clan I used to be in Halo Reach, we all could wear whatever armor we wanted, so long as we kept the colors, emblem and tag
@Neko16gram Gaming clans were the best ones since they were always involving game nights with everyone and even try to bring in other clans to play custom games with to make friends that last for hours
Well only the those gaming clans were pretty cool but too many of those dumb serious clans that even try to force you to change your username which is super dumb
I love the customization of Spartan IIIs in this game but this is so cool too. This is what I loved about the Spartan IIs and what would be so cool about them in person. It gets rid of the whole unique superhero reputation that Spartans had going on in 4-Infinite especially. It's not like "oh wow Spartan Palmer is here with her completely unique armor that can be identified and targeted from a mile away, and boom! Now our commanding Spartan is dead because the enemy was so easily able to pick her out of the group and overwhelm her." It's just Spartans. Some a little more heavily built, some carrying comms equipment, some with a lot of optics attachments. But just Spartans at the end of the day. No unique, wacky looking, brightly colored shit with no tactical equipment.
There's just something so classic and stoic about the Mark V armor. My favorite adaptation of it being the Halo Wars Spartans with the Mark V Delta variant. Even in Halo 5, the Delta is easily my favorite armor set.
this is already one of my favorite halo campaigns, and this is just a cherry on top for me. totally fits and adds an element of "realism" that the colorful armors took away from.
Love the original idea that they were given the newer armor compared to the 2’s who didn’t get the new armor until returning to reach, but I love this idea of noble team using the same armor as the 2’s with slight modifications.
Personally I’d let carter either have his helmet or have the Mk VI prototype with the uplink module since he is the leader. Maybe give Emile the up armor variant of Mk 5 since he could potentially use it to headbutt enemies in CQC
@@Lorenzo_I. I didn’t say CQB. I said CQC. CQC you definitely can headbutt especially if you have a helmet and especially if that helmet has extra protection like uparmored does. Just like how the Spartan pushed off the elite with his shoulder in Halo Wars. You’re not going out to do it. But you can. And since Emile is CQC and CQB specialist, he can. Doesn’t mean he’s specifically going out to do it.
This makes me happy. I was never a fan of the blue armor because of how much it stood out. Always felt like that would make the spartans too obvious of a target. But the green shade definitely would allow them to blend into the local environment better. I wanna get this mod and play the campaign again. :)
I adore this mod, though I wish the Spartans were wearing the proper Mark V instead of Mark V [B]. I like the unique armour looks that was eventually adopted, but I still have a desire to see this uniform apparel being used.
This mod looks amazing! Reminds me of what could've been a Fall of Reach video game featuring Blue Team and the rest of the SIIs. Also congrats on 700 subs...you're welcome XD
Really liked how this turned out. Noble 6 could’ve kept the Mark Five B helmet since he was a head hunter a different kit wouldn’t be too far from believable but you also rarely see 6 either way amazing way of getting them all uniform but with slight variations to tell them apart.
The armour uniformity with slight variations and modifications looks great. There's something really staisfying about the uniformity, and the animations are good enough that you can still tell who's who (though maybe that's because I've played the game 1000 times).
BRO I GOTTA GET THIS MOD!!!! This is how they should have looked honestly. I get the different armors so that we could tell them apart, but this is how they should look.
19:52 60% of UNSC Fleet to be deploy on Reach is actually a miracle! Just imagine all OTAN fleet being deploy from North Atlantic to Antarctica in just 48 hous which usually takes at least 4 weeks, that's impressive.
I love how grounded this game was. The military focus, the heaviness/bulk of the armour, the grittiness and atmosphere is unlike any other Halo game. This is the best in the franchise for me
It's funny the way they do the helmets to get the right angles during the cutscenes. It's only when you add the Mk. V helmet (and specifically, the brim) that you notice just how much Emile looks "down".
This is how i always imagined a Halo Reach in times of Halo CE. But since Noble Team are S-III i imagined them with the same armor and different colors. Except for Jorge of course.
Dude I absolutely LOVE this mod! Imagine if anyone could just download a mod and change Noble Team’s armors and name tags on your HUD, that would be so cool! If you were able to make it some kind of menu for what to make Noble Team’s armor as, I think everyone would download it haha
