@@Legpacked For real!.. I loved playing HALO on the original xbox back in my 20's and I completed it in one day. It's a great game but it's incredibly simplistic and easy enough that anyone can play it. A TV series needs more to it than that though and I'm glad to see Halo the series doesn't disappoint! I was so relieved when master cheif took his helmet off! I was dreading that the whole show was going to be some kind of extended cut scene from a game, with no character development or personal story about the actual human beings behind the masks. This is MUCH better than I thought it would be! 😅 I was expecting some lame 'Red vs Blue' 💩

tiger tanks armour is far too thick to be destroyed head on, standard tactics were to rush and surround and hope someone got a shot on the vulnerable rear side.

It's movie logic, all people (mostly bad guys surrounding the one good guy) always move in to get taken down now by one, when they CLEARLY have the ranged advantage, it's always been a pet peeve of mine.

Chief closed in because he wanted to incapacitate them both not kill them. He couldn't run because without his suit vanik would have caught up to him. Also even if he had disabled the vaniks shields there was no guarantee that MC could injure him with that magnum because there's still the armour from the suit and fibre layer under it.

also to the comments: The Panzer VI (Tiger) had the same amount of armor around the entirty of the hull, and also the 75 and 76mm shells could punch through it from that distance without much difficulty either.

The Chief, unarmored, wouldn't survive a single punch from an armored Spartan. Armored Spartans, canonically, can generate over six thousand pounds of force. Imagine getting into a fistfight with a sledgehammer that weighs a thousand pounds and you're getting close to the level of physicality a Spartan in armor brings to the table :/

You're basically asking Spider-Man to punch with full force, which'd really kill Neat part is the scene's punches were disabling, not lethal Cortana's Warthog drive? Breaching in-game limits, the same reason you don't display full lore powers like Doomguy while back in 1x05, they ran like the Flash

@@strider117aldo9 You don't understand anything about spartans in vs out of armour. In the show they're using mark VI mjolnir. It enhances their strength by such a high number. Chief in gen 3 mark vi was able to punch atriox 4 times totalling 150,000kg of force. You can tell vannak is hitting at full force, spartans dont hold back, which would've blown chiefs head straight off

They were _ordered_ to hold back, namely with Kai If it matters, the normal Halsey survived a punch by (Beta female (not Beta Male XD), not the on-drugs Gamma) S-III Lucy, and tech/undersuits are made of titanium

the fact that chief is able to take on 2 fully armored S2s is an insult. In halo lore, the suits increase strength, speed and reaction time by a multiple of 5. No matter how good he is, there's no way it actually works. The idea that spartan 2s could fight eachother is possible but also kinda far fetched, since halsey and mendez raised them as a family.

For what it's worth, season 2 depicted a Spartan in full armor beating up unsuited John a bit more accurately imo. He looked a lot more severely bruised and like he was going to die when Kai was beating him up. While here in this season 1 episode he looks like he was just punched in the face once.

And he has to utilise the weights for stronger blows and for protection form their punches. He logically didn't stand a chance against those suited Spartans. What a joke. The armor of a spartan is not just a shield against bullets. It literally enhances the wearer. Normal people literally snapped in half testing one, as it is a f- half tonne mechanized suit with a REACTOR built in. In the halo universe people would be afraid of shaking a Spartan hand just for the sheer force of their grip. What a bad adaptation this is. A punch in the face from a full armored Spartan would blow your skull in pieces.

Core strength is what humans have very weak, I'm sure Spartans core strength easily far exceeds the average humans absolute strength but a cable attached to a wall while you're grappled by it and can't move is gonna cause some issues as the cable is up and you have to move down without holding onto the cable(cause you can't) and pull it down with body weight alone

Where was he weak? He was ambushed by two fully armoured Spartans from his own crew when he wasnt suited up himself! They had been ordered to bring him in and he was trying to defend himself. No way could he beat two fully armoured Spartans. But he did the best he could.

Because he's a human being and he doesn't wear his suit 24/7 like a kid at a comic con. They were ordered to bring him in, not kill him. And so he was trying to defend himself. He wasn't expecting it so he wasn't suited up. It's pretty obvious if you think about it, but perhaps you haven't watched it.

@@fancypants5299 That is not how his character is portrayed here. Only reason you only ever see MC in his armour in the game is because 'it's a game' . 🤣 And a pretty easy one at that. It's just a basic first person shooter. And you are only seeing 'the action'. This is a reflection of the simplicity of the game, not a reflection of the actual character you are playing. It's amazing people can be this dumb.

The series is riddled with plot holes the books doesn’t have and the symbolism behind chief not taking his helmet is lost to people who like this. If you like “tv” halo, whatever. Just grab one of the books, they’re tremendous. Making fun of fans because they’re disappointed in the nostalgia of what these games and books were is honestly just rude. I know dudes who bought an Xbox for 20 years because of the series. That’s a deep loyalty. Why can’t the fans that financed two decades of that games production and profits to investors not be entitled to a tv series being close to canon? Then the actors in the show who mock the same people who, again, over 20 years supported the game enough to justify the budget for the show, wtf? Someone will make a killer fan film that’ll blow the show out of the water.

I've played and maxed out every single Halo video game and I'm a huge Master Chief fan! That being said, every one of you clowns need to chill out! So what it's a different take on the series of video games! This is a solid effort, that takes us on its own journey at times, but at the core, it's a good halo adaptation! Halo isn't a 5 by any means, but it's definitely a strong 3 and lower 4.

All I wanted was a show where Masterchief kills aliens all day everyday. Instead, I got Master Cheeks trying to take on two armored supersoldiers with dumbbells Like come on. Also, the Warthog would absolutely not slow down even a SPARTAN IV, let alone a SPARTAN II. Remember in the game? When you can literally flip Warthogs, Ghosts, EVEN SCORPION TANKS?

This scene annoys me on so many levels..John is a tactician..ever since he was a kid he had a knack for solving difficult situations. The way Cortana was literally telling him how to fight, he should've known already. He was outclassed in this fight because the other Spartans had their armor yes. But the real John would've found ways to overcome them..like find a way to split them up so they can't jump him. They made chief so watered down in this series its disheartening. Such a shame like the halo 5 chief versus Locke fight..that shouldn't even have been a fight..but because they had to have that ridiculous size difference in armor sets..they made chief act more like a tank when fighting Locke, whereas realistically, chief would've ended that fight in seconds, Locke is nothing compared to chief.

This is TERRIBLE. Anyone that knows lore, knows the incredible advantage that the Mjolnir armor gives to a Spartan. A helmet-less and armorless John would not stand a chance against Vanak with armor

They screwed this show up so bad. So2ep04 is titled reach. I just watched it and i seriously have no clue wth is going on in that show. Chief wasnt on reach, halsey was, noble 6 got cortana off of reach and to chief before he died fighting the covenant so the ship could get off of reach. Storyline for the show is so screwed up. And pretty sure i saw the wannabe chief fighting the arbiter hand2hand with no armor as well......all the while wonder wth is going on and why is the episode called reach? Chief and the arbiter werent on reach, where the hell is noble team? Wth is going on?!?! Whoever wrote this show should fired

Master Chief was on the Pillar of Autumn when it left Reach... That's literally the lead up to Halo 1. There's more story behind it as there was another Spartan 2 in Cryofreeze on that ship too. He just wasn't the focus in the game Reach.

Did we even watch the same clip? Did you use your eyes? He wasnt winning! He also wasnt 'taking them on' either!. He was just trying to defend himself after they had been ordered to 'bring him in'. Thats why he wasnt suited up in his armour. He wasnt expecting his crew to turn on him.

Chief should've immediately died from that first hit to his head. in S2E6 kai throws chief around a room till he cant even stand yet he was able to take on TWO ARMOURED SPARTANS??? which means according to this show Kai is stronger than 3 spartans combined. Nobody expects action scenes in TV and Movies to be believable. 99% of them never are and never have been. Also, he wasn't even trying to defend himself in the last beating he took. And in both beatings, you completely failed to understand that the first time around they were ordered to bring him in, not kill him. And in the second beating, MCs friend didn't want to kill him either. She just wanted him to stay down and then she just wanted it to 'look good' for the camera that was watching her. Because she trusted him and deep down knew Jhon was in the right. Stop parroting the same old fandom menace talking points. Only fools listen to them.

lmao this show is pretty good if u separate it from the Videogame and Comic franchises. Chief was never first or Best in anything, he was the best all around soldier. thats why he was chosen as Chief. this show is to show us how he, Mr. 2nd place in everything became the MOST respected spartan among spartans
