Thermopolis is the famous last stand of the "300" Spartans in ancient Greece. It was a battle that put about 10-20,000 Greek soldiers, including 300 Spartans, against 100,000 Persian troops. They stood for three days until finally being killed by the Persians. In Halo lore, it is the ancient Spartans that inspired the creation of Halo's Spartans.

and episode 7 is titled Thermopylae, plus the fact that we will be introduced to spartan IIIs, which is split into the alpha and beta company, each containing "300 spartans" so its easy to predict what's gonna happen

Interesting note about the Elites, they are very honor driven. "Respect the 1v1" is very much a part of their culture. For that Elite to shoot Chief showed dishonored... that is why the Arbiter took his head clean off.

Ackerson "You're just a guy in a suit!" John-117 is not JUST a guy in a suit. He is Master Chief, the Demon. Episode 4 showed that and showed it well. Halsey and Keyes loved each other still. That scene broke Halsey down... she still loves him. If Master Chief views Halsey as like his mother figure than Admiral Keyes is likely his father figure....

Nah for reals all Spartans would have viewed both of them as their parents. Look at how Soren reacted to Keyes in the elevator. He was talking like he was the black sheep of the family talking to his father. A father that is disappointed in him. But deep down was glad he was there even if they both didnt know that it was keyes final moments. And even in those final moments Soren knew what to do.

13:00 Thermopoly is where the Spartans in the 300 defended a small passage to force a bigger army to squeeze together in one spot to make it easier to kill them. Jackals: excellent long range eyesight and sharp shooters. They usually do not want to fight, but stay behind their shield and fire. The show hired a new show runner. Spielberg is producing and the writing is more story driven. You can't just keep blasting in every episode.

You guys should consider brushing up on your ancient history! Much of Halo lore has references to ancient Greece and mythology. The Battle of Thermopylae was very real and is arguably the most famous last-first stand of all-time. The battle took place in 480 BC... 2,503 years ago! Let that sink in.

This was the best episode of the 2 seasons👍😁 Still sad to see Keyes die bc he was supposed to be with Master Chief when they find the first Halo Ring. But I'm now curious about how this timeline addresses that.

The coin flip is from the lore and it was Halsys first interaction with John as a child before she abducted him and she even commented that he had luck on his side it was also shown more prominently in the animated Halo film Halo : The fall of reach from 2015, it was also something cortana said that she chose him because he had something no one else had and that was luck.

Soren did NOT turn his back on the Spartans - Halsey VERY CLEARLY says Soren’s AUGMENTATION FAILED and that’s why she needed him to leave. Halsey needed John to become the leader he now is.

Command is taking valuable assests off of the planet, leaves cortana on the planet. Also, Chief isn't gonna have his armor on until the seasons end, is he? I just love how they're shitting on an iconic part of the chief. Additionally, The Battle of Reach is supposed to be a titanic battlefield, with battles on the ground and in space. Makee is thinking I will use Cortana to control chief or Control something else but it seems when Cortana will see chief she will say 🖕 covenant and 🖕 everyone else but no one messing with My Master Chief. If Paramount doesn't show something like this then show will never standup to the game

If you watch the end part of the Official trailer for this season, and also the "this season on" trailer, you will see that there is a big space fight coming up still. It will be there, but they cant do every single thing in 1 episode, that shit will cost too much.

The books and the games doesn't even make sense of not including a female enemies. I haven't encountered a single female covenants or any other creatures in the game. It's not realistic and yet dumb fans are complaining about the show. 😂😂😂

This episode was an insult to all fans of Halo games serie. After removing the Major’s helmet, they removed his armor, and he was humiliated by an elite. And the worst part is that they killed Admiral Keyes, who is a crucial figure for the rest of the story. All this to unplug 2 ridiculous pipes.
