Knowing how much Ackerson hates Halsey and the Spartan-IIs in the Halo novels and books, him and ONI taking the mjolnir armor is something he would definitely do.

This episode had SO much going on. Absolutely elite fight scenes.

Chief wasnt the last spartan in the games he was just lone wolfing missions with cortana, he led his most iconic squad called “blue” team in the books n such. This “silver” team is new with the show. Hopefully we see Blue team at some point.

This episode got me hooked the second season is already a 10/10 in my opinion of course ❤😂

I think that Akerson is going to use Kai and the suites to make more Spartans, with Kai as their leader.

Each suit was worth a Dreadnought. If he's leaving them there to die, he'd take their suits.

The common response I see in these reaction videos regarding the people in that mall type area being so calm and unaware is “why aren’t people panicking?” Normalcy bias. Sure the explosions were loud but everything happening so fast people’s minds want to disbelieve any sort of disaster is occurring for as long as possible. Especially if they’re distracted by every day comforts.

They ain't blind, they are just trained to know what a UNSC admiral/important person looks like. He is far better off alive than dead to them at this point. They wanted to capture him but he went out like a boss.

Arbiter that's his name and he's the one who later aligns with humans. Vannak, Kai etc they are all canon from the games too...they were the three Spartans who survived on Arcadia from the original Omega team

It's worth noting that ALL of the Spartans are elite super soldiers capable of enormous feats but like he said at 17:22, not all of the Spartans are Chief and his crew. Furthermore, Master Chief wasn't technically the best Spartan in terms of intelligence, raw physical strength, speed, etc. He was considered a jack of all trades but the Chief himself alludes to his 'gift' during this season when he mentions that he can always know when he's going to make it out of a scenario alive. The Chief himself isn't aware of the grander plans set in motion for him but Cortana talks about why she chose him during the intro cinematic of Halo 3 if you guys are interested! Really cool tidbits all over this episode.

When it comes to the question of why would the Covonant commit ground troops well in the Halo lore there are several reasons, in the case of Reach it is effectively a fortress planet and is they most fortified and armed human planet with many orbital defenses and thousands of ground to orbit defenses and all in it would make it impossible or well costly for even the covenant to take, and so in halo lore it was common for the covenant to send in a large team of covert teams with 2 objectives, 1: Primary objective to infiltrate and destroy the power generators the ground based defenses along with communications to clear the way for the fleet 2 : find and recover any and all forerunner artifacts

Master Chief isn't the last Spartan in the games. He is a Spartan-II, of which only a few dozen survived augmentation, with over half of them being killed during the war. Currently as of Halo Infinite there are 15 confirmed Spartan-II's to have survied the Human Covenent war (including Chief, plus one retiree). But their numbers are spread so thin you never really see any apart from Kelly, Linda and Fred in Halo 5 (Blue team, the game canon equivalent of Silver team) and also Jerome, Alice and Douglas from Halo Wars 1 & 2. Also those pellets that control their emotions are not a thing in the game lore at all. They're basically just indocrinated to be the way that they are. Then after the Spartan II's we had the Spartan III's (the Spartans from the Halo Reach game (excluding Jorge who is a Spartan II), there were hundreds of these but they were generally less effective than the II's as most of them did not have MJOLNIR armour (instead using SPI, which did not have a shield generator, but was able to use Active Camoflague to turn invisible). Most of these died on what were essentially suicide missions, most of the survivors because "Headhunters" which were basically Spartan assassins sent to take down high value Covenant assets. The Spartan III's were basically all volunteers and orphans that wanted revenge on the Covenant. Then after the Human-Covenant war the Spartan-IV program came around, these ones are recruit from military personnel and purely volunteers. They went through similar augmentations of the II's and III's and also wore MJOLNIR armour a few generations ahead of what the II's were provided with. Inside of their armour they are basically evenly matched, outside of their armour the a Spartan II would probably mop the floor with a Spartan IV.

The big Elite that's been featured is the Arbiter (clearly before he switches sides.) That's not a guess either, in the behind the scenes episodes they call him the Arbiter. I think we'll catch up with Miranda keys next episode. She's in the cast credits, so she'll show up sometime.

People can hate all they want, but this episode was dope and so fucking worth it. Ackerson took the armor because he has always hated the Spartan 2's and Halsey. This way he was hoping they would die and he could go to the head of ONI and say "see, it didnt work. We need my program" and then start the whole Spartan 3 program of his own. And story wise we're getting somewhere. John was always supposed to reach Halo alone without his team, so we need to split them up before we get there. Vannak now is dead, Kai (probably) went with Ackerson to train the new Spartan 3's or first ODST units (look at the This Season On trailer), and now Rizz is the only left to deal with before we get to episode 8. Another fact, about the end fight with the Elite. They are really religious creatures, and yes, they do respect the 1v1 when they respect you enough as a worthy opponent. Thats why he cut of the head of his friendly because he didnt respect the 1v1 like he dead. The fight had already started and he just blasted him unaware which he obviously didnt agree with.

Well the arbiter literally stabbed him in the heart. He was dying either way. And the Shear shock the body and the brain would have from the heart getting stabbed (even while being a spartan) would take all logic out of the equation

He is the Arbiter. Like the game you could see the different color armor. Jackals have excellent eyesight and are snipers in the game and not fans of hand to hand combat. They crouch down behind their shields and are hard to kill from a distance. They were raised to care for each other. Thanks guys. Just subscribed. Good job. Chief jumped first and may have caught the non spartans that jumped. They needed to take down planet defenses before they glassed the planet. In addition they were there to get cortana.

Earth is still the home-world. UNSC stands for United Nations Space Command. Reach is the gateway to the colonies and the UNSC headquarters. Strategically more significant than Earth but Earth is still our home planet.

To answer the question of why the Covenant isn't glassing the planet from space, it's because the UNSC has Anti Air defenses across the planet and Orbital MAC canons that can fry Covenant Carriers. First they have to knockout communication to silence the planet (Visegrad) then the assault can begin to destroy those AA instillations.

I liked this episode, gotta be my favourite episode of the series so far, BUT as cool as the fight scenes were, they would have been cooler is the spartans were wearing their armour.

I understand the criticism for not following the lore. But Halo CE was the first game on xbox as a youth, and I was too young to get anywhere on it. Since the series, it's connected Me with my youth, I'm re goinf through CE, a d watching all the lore videos. It's reignited my interest in it, and what I didn't realise was my love for the univetse, I'm engaged again, and I wouldn't have been for 'the shitty series' . I'm hoping this series will re ignite more accurate content for the series and universe.

Can’t believe people keep saying this is the best episode yet after they killed off keys and Vannek in such shitty ways 😂. Vannek should’ve gone out like Emile from reach if they were going to off him. Keys, I mean he was literally our introduction to the flood!! FUCK!! 😂 the show runners are really making it a tad difficult for me to stay hooked. Season 2 is definitely shaping to be better than 1 but some of these choices are definitely questionable. I really just wish Markee and Quan weren’t present and we could focus on our Spartans more.
