Thanks so much for this! I couldn't replicate your strategy exactly (RNG and all that) but this helped me blend my current strat with some things from your video. The cobra in particular is such a good shout, and upgrading to dual launchers. I tried to go pure hornets for ages and that just wasn't working. I knew the sniper towers were important but assumed I would have to sacrifice marines in order to go vehicles, but now I see making both is possible. Thanks again! PS, cathartic to hear someone else talk about how bullshit this level is after hours of raging myself hahah

ARCADIA YOUR TIME HAS COME

I recently achieved the gold medal on legendary, and it was truly random with how when and where the covenant is attacking, I failed to save the 1000 civs but I luckily got a combat multiplier of 10x after lots of tries. Try to keep every building, don't let the covenant destroy any of them. ODSTs inside the sniper towers works pretty fine to defend civs and damage phantoms. If you have problems with the kamikaze banshees put forge and some marines/ODSTs near the transport they will luckily lure the attack

I think you and I are playing different versions of Halo Wars. Because in my case, everything happens differently. Forge and my hornets die a lot faster. Vampires destroy Cargo 1 in seconds no matter I fight with the hornets and Forge (plus Spartans) - by the way cargo 1's health drop suddenly to 0% from around ~20% when they suggest to build a base. Also, my buildings get destroyed in seconds if I won't build turrets - but for that I need resources, which means, I can't produce the neccessary units to defend any of the two ships. I've tried this with and without usefull skulls, nothing helped.

It's normally not difficult to get the secondary base objective but actually keeping the base maybe not. The base being destroyed might make the combat multiplier nosedive because on one attempt it nosedived to around 5x and I didn't lost much but I also didn't built many units which might be the reason. But if it doesn't you can certainly get a good economy boost if RNGesus doesn't hate you. I should check for buildings and the so precious combat multiplier. EDIT : 99% chances your buildings count, I tried on mission 2 (normal) and kept destroying and building structures, the combat multiplier nosedived to 1.47x on the second attempt (I forgot to check the first time but lost no unit) I did lost a Warthog unlike the first time. I completed every objective and got the par time on both attempts. EDIT 2 : yeah, I purposely got a Warthog destroyed and it did nothing to the combat multiplier. EDIT 3 : here we go gold medal obtained, I think I was blessed by RNGesus, Covenants were very passive (the Arcadia patrol by the subway survived) and Spartans hijacked some Banshees at critical times, as much Vampires (they used stasis) and one guarded the bridge with a Wraith for a moment. And I didn't saved 1000 civilians but made the second base selfdestruct, 10x combat multiplier and finished 1 second over par time.

I just beat Arcadia City Mission on Legendary and saved 1000 civilians. However I didn't get a gold medal but just a tin medal. What did I do wrong?

God damnit. I had an attempt that was 3000. That skull trick would have nailed it for me.
