@@Aj4youtube Halo doesn't support open warfare. Matches are held in arenas with a small cap size. A Halo battlefield could be like open warfare on a rind 32v32(human v covenant or human v human, covenant v covenant, Human v flood, etc) with vehicle usage, bases, etc Imagine fighting on a lush Halo ring
The flood was a threat. Nobody should underestimate it. Especially if someone as strong as Artiox having said and warned about them. "I told you not to go inside, for good reason"
@@Frank_Fontaine. Of course he did. You dont become the leader of an almost invincible faction by being an idiot. However he found out, he knew the flood had infested it before.
A thing that doesn't make sense to me about this is when they take their helmets off the floods spore doesn't infect them its literally everywhere there is so much its like a fog
@@Frank_Fontaine. It's not that he knew, but he suspected it enough based on the place being infested before so he wanted to be properly prepared when opening the place. It's just that his underlings were too reckless and greedy to listen to him and yolo'd it, almost destroying the galaxy in the process.
Gotta love how Serena was willing to shut herself down to uphold protocol and prevent rampancy. Unlike some other A.I. structures I know of. (cough. cough... Cortana. cough.)
Indeed. actual filmmakers should stop trying to recreate these games and emotions with real life actors and start embracing cgi cinematics. I want movies like THAT ..not with Actor XYZ or Actress ABC. Most of the game studios already have these assets and VFX ready for cinematics (as we can see) so it boggles my mind that no one has ever thought "Wait a minute...lets work together with the game studios and make that shit into amazing movies"
She was a sneaky bitch though. There’s an intel log saying she forged letters from the crew’s family and sent it to them for no apparent reason at all. AI are so unsettling sometimes.
Plus Spartans aren't invincible Especially against someone that's like that Brute or an elite like Arbiter (the one who befriend master chief) . I don't know ow any others. But spartans has enhancements but there's limits when there's someone stronger than the spartan
It was amazing. But I have one question: what happened to the brave soldiers of the Spirit of Fire? Were they just unable to survive the attacks of the banished and the flood? Did they surrender? Are they fighting on the ark to this day? Did they meet Craig and his forces?
@@wastelandlegocheem hey that's a good question theirs an halo book that just recently came out before the game, it mention the Spirt of Fire in it being i think active and still in the fight near the Ark.
I got to say, atriox was defiantly a villain i could respect. He didn't hate you because of race, religion, or creed. He was out for pure domination and if you were strong in his eyes, he let you in. Still a bad guy cause he did still wanted conquest. Sure made him boring, but still likable/respect worthy. He was bad ass enough to make the covenant nervous. But it was solely because of skill, certainly not numbers.
No, his tactic plagues the cutscene, it was profusely stupid and all the Spartans had to do to kill him was not be equally as stupid and shoot him in the head instead of going for melee
@@Neo2266.Lmao did you watch the scene? he wasnt noticed till he was in arms length then when they did fire it bounced off and he kept knocking them off balance with his gravity mace so they tried melee since bullets weren't doing shit Dunno when yoy thought they could gave got a head shot off when in close range and getting ragdolled
I wish future didn't equal "no handrails" when people make sci fi movies. After Star Wars everyone thinks the future won't need handrails to keep us from plummeting to are death off of steep ledges and walkways.
Halo as become a impressive Sci-fi verse in it's own right, and steers a lot closer to a harder Sci-fi compaired to stuff like Starwars and Star Trek, yet at the same time, U feel like it can stand toe to toe with them too, especially the Covenant at the height of their power of the Forerunner at a fraction of their power
God I feel like the cutscenes in halo wars 1 and 2 are perhaps the best cutscenes in the entire halo franchise. I love the stories of both so much. They also actually have Spartans that could be good fits that could be as loved as John.
Hoping we see red team in the main halo games. Hell if they ever kill off chief or have him step down, they should let red team leader take up the main line spot.
@@henrymcbark7337 That is not going to happen. sorry but Red Team is nothing compared to Master Chief. Master Chief is a fucking icon globally replacing him with a throw away character from a spin off is not how things work.
@@MrChickennugget360 Red Team are not throw away characters. Having Master Chief live his dream of finally being able to step down and train a team of protectors of humanity (Red Team) would be iconic AF or at least allow him to have a true lore accurate strike team instead of the BS we got in Halo 5. Calling Red Team throw aways is just plain ignorant. Both Halo Wars have had the best story since Bungies original trilogy and if you can't see that you're out of touch with reality.
@@TheRealBlakers you're out of touch with reality. Halo Wars is good but its NOT even remotely as groundbreaking as the original Halo games. My point has nothing to do with the internal story but everything to do with the general public.
@@MrChickennugget360 Ok so you call me out of touch with reality, while legit agreeing with me. I never said Halo Wars was better than the original trilogy. If the "internal story" is garbage than the "general public" won't give a rat's ass about it. The points are one and the same. Why do you think Halo 4 and 5 were received so terribly by the community? Lackluster stories with mediocre multiplayer. I'm having a hard time understanding your point here.
Also the editing of this vid kinda sucks ass it when from halo wars 2 to 1 meaning the ai dies to comeback after a while also it mixes the dlc into some of the story to jump back to hw2 and missed a good chunk of the normal game along with just some of the cut scenes
Haven't even known of this universe before. The more I watch, I come to think of what a great film that could be with real actors and digital rendering, motion capture and that like on cinematic screens. I'd hope on someone like Wes Ball, Neill Blomkamp and them creative people to catch attention to it. It is done pretty nice and detailed already, so their creators definitely ARE awesome people!! Yet 2 see some high end sparkle on these, oh my, that would be phantastic to create a series of movies! Even to mindplay on the utopic costs a project like that would create ... Someone should do it!!
@@michaelkeaton5394 We should keep reminding ... whatever they meant by ' Wingnut interactive is now at work on original intellectual property, after the 'Halo cronicles' work was cancelled and "game on hold" ... They might have a narrow finances phase, though one would think Corona and all the stay at home policy would have compelled more folks into playing games ;)
oh don't worry...its on its way. Realism during game play completely indistinguishable from reality filmed on a cine camera is probably already possible on a pentagon level super computer.
@@presidentresident well there are some studios that can make you feel at this scale with only 14 A.I, there is only thing of imagination and skills. For example doom eternal did a great work with this kind of scenarios making you feel hunted when there are only 10 A.I
Love when Cutter asks her a super direct "hey what the hell are you doing" when they're in a battle already and every second counts and she DOESN'T ANSWER HIM and just goes on a tangent about how mean the Brutes are. Like girl this is A SITUATION you need to give a straight answer
It is, but in retrospect it does make sense. After all, this isn't a military AI. Its goal isn't to manage shipboard systems or to assist troups with all the profesionalism expected for someone in the military. This is an AI made to manage a research outpost. It also comes from what kind of person was used to first create the neural network the AI is based on. It is likely that the AI was created out of a civilian or a scientist, somebody who by definition will not have been trained to remain calm it situations of emergency, let alone living through a traumatic event. Its sure as hell not optimal but like with many things cutter isn't exactly free to pick and chose. They need an AI, and despite it being unfit for duty and traumatized, its the only one on this shiny rock.
@@Captianmex1C0 maybe it tries to stop melee but because the matter stays it destabilise the energy Like breaking a window with a punch then the window rewinds time but your fist is still there
I am STUNNED! I dont know why i didnt find that masterpiece before, but... WOAH! This is just beyond amazing. These scenes are by far so close to what you can see on the Starcraft 2 cutscenes. What a story, what a script, what a "movie"! I cant describe how absolutely good this is. Better than real movies, better than series. Just wow! What a blast!
Never played this game, but these cutscenes firmly cement it as a truly well made Halo game in my eyes. Absolutely steeped in the spirit of the original Bungie games. Badass moments/concepts: - Getting a cruiser to glass a big hole in the surface of the Ark to prompt Sentinels to tear the ship in two - EJECTING A PIECE OF A HALO RING to eliminate the enemy forces stationed upon it - Taking said Halo ring as a means of escape
40:50 “ oh no civilians are being culled by the Covenant, too bad there’s nothing we can do...” 41:15 “S P A R T A N S?!?, S E R E N A D E P L O Y G R O U N D F O R C E S”
WOW!! the is way cooler and more creative than the last three Star Wars movies combined! Sci Fi movie writers have nothing on the new breed of game story creators.
I love how the other guy on the radio does answer with “good morning, captain.”. Dude’s been yelling at this crew for years apparently to greet him with “good morning”.
and another reason why HALO is probably the greatest video game of the 21st century.. ive yet to see any HALO connected movie, short, etc, that isnt just a thrill to watch, and the voice acting is so good it just gives you a real movie vibe. now if we can get a HALO version of Call of Duty online MP, WZ, CW, it would be a multi billion dollar franchise..
No they just spent all their budge on making the beginning cinematics look good, but once they ran out of money they made clips that looks like trashy ps2 graphics!
No? Cutter looked the same, and sounded the same. Jerome got a new actor because he was played by the guy who played cutter. All of Halo Wars they have the same actor.
@@OverlordAlastor lmao, Cutter the same? Get your eyes checked. Different facial structure, looks younger, and don't get me started on the terrible loss of his 'stache
I always thought the brutes were an unfair opponent. Basically a hyper intelligent grizzly bear with excellent hand to hand skills. I'm glad they aren't real because I wouldn't even try to fight that .
I was sad when I realised Serena terminated herself, I suppose it's expected. But lord I love Isabel's character. How she bonds with Jerome and they become another John-Cortana combo. John with Cortana and Jerome with Isabel are such great duos, they bounce off one another so well.
Annapolis, NROTC, or OCS awaits...or, if not American, various national Naval Academies, where you can train for command, until you can get the Spirit of Fire, there are various Carriers, Cruisers, Destroyers, and Submarines to sate that destruction craving...you won't need to imagine. LOL 😆
6:00 anyone else remember exactly what seeing this for the first time felt like. Like holy fuck he just squished his armor. And beat up One of the best Spartan teams in halo lore
Persona 3 explained AI anthropomorphism perfectly: Build an AI like a tank, and it'll see itself as a machine or a tank. Build an AI like a human, and it'll perceive itself as a human. Just as we're just a biological AI that identifies with our body, but cut off a limb and it's not "you" anymore, you're something deeper than that.
The effort and quality of these cinematics are mind boggling..! Just pure brilliancy! And also, the brutes are pretty much über Uruk-Hai. Big, strong, not to bright but makes a hell of a biological war machine. Didn't think much of them in the first games, but they've kinda grown on me.
holy shit, am i the only one who thinks that it is hella scary that there are no safety rails on those walkways where the cryo pods are in the beginning of the video?
Isn’t this halo wars 2 it is right? Em I tripping it’s like the beginning is 2 then half way through it’s 1 why isn’t anyone talking about that I’m not tripping right it’s like nobody notices or something
Its gonna be amazing when the Spirit of Fire meets the Infinity now that they are the last 2 ships. UNSC Spirit of Fire, On Station and Ready to Assist.
I think halo wars 2 never served purpose of making some money for the developers. It was made only to introduce new characters and fix some plotholes and fix halo 5 story to some extent. Halo wars 1 feels like a game in the separate universe. but not the halo wars 2 because of the timeline ofc. Halo wars 2 actually made me feel like 343 is really upto something in the story field.
@@mayanksharma5006 I play RTS games for the strategy, not the story. We have reduced content from the first game, with weird, unnecessary lore for an unnecessary franchise continuation. Why they felt the need at all to have this tie in to Halo 5 is beyond me. What made people actually care about the Halo Wars 1 story was the fact that it didn't try to get too involved with the main events, and it was a great RTS that prioritized gameplay over story, they just also happen to be great writers.
@@FriezaSucks Again as I said, it was a medium used to fix the story errors in halo 5 and give it a meaning. Thats was far important than anything else. I haven't played neither of the halo wars titles, only the cutscenes, so I don't know what's missing and what's not. And leaks suggest halo wars 3 isn't gonna happen anytime. I am actually happy they tied halo wars to mainstream halo.
@@FriezaSucks I always prefer the story regardless of the game but i swear, i just couldnt get into halo wars 2 as much as halo wars 1, even though most people say that halo wars 2 has better story and gameplay. everything except for cutscenes was boring for me, it was still a good game but just not something i would play after the first playthrough, the larger impact the game has on halo going forward was nice but not something i care too much about.
Considering Spartan 2's have kill *hunters* in single combat or even 2 v 1 Spartan, that Atriox scene seems like bull. I'd understand them being pushed back or not being able to hurt him in close quarters, but 1) Spartans had specific training on how to fight a much stronger opponent (they were trained from 6, remember) with Chief even getting strangled by a brute and managing to kill it, because he didn't realise at the time it could completely overpower him, and 2) Spartans in armour were still supernaturally fast. They would be able to easily dodge any grabs by Atriox. Only way this would make sense I guess is if this is also their first time seeing brutes.
@@RogeNight Yeah I know but I was never much into the comics or shows so the biggest connection to an arbiter in my brain is the one he befriended. It’s like seeing the evil twin die when you loved the good one lmao
