Hey Joe! I have another question: is the product for the last reaction you did a mixture of the one you drew and its enantiomer? In other words, could we have drawn the cyclic bromonium ion with dashes? Thanks!

Hey Ken! Yep, you nailed it: the way the cyclic bromonium ion forms happens both in a “dashed” and “wedged” fashion (based on the problems in the video) so you would get the enantiomer (so long as there are no other stereocenters in the molecule, then you would have 2 diastereomers in the product mixture instead). Does that make sense?
