This video is a tribute to Monty Oum who inspired me and others who didn't even know this was one of his first major works on the internet before his time at Rooster Teeth.
I wanted to try and make something that at least somewhat stands up to the original. There's a decent amount of changes compared to the original. Don't worry there's ton of visual mistakes I've already clocked but because of time restraints I could not go in and fix them.
Anyway this video took an extremely long time for a number reasons mostly burnout. The first uploads of any instance of this video date back to June 2017!
I tried my best and hope you guys have as much fun watching this as I did making it.
I'm going to get back into uploading MUCH smaller but more frequent videos but I do need a little time to decompress this was a ludicrous amount of animation work and even with some poor motion capture this took way too long.
Please feel free to ask questions about this video I'm real enthusiastic about finally finishing this and being able to move on

If you pay attention during that bit where "chief" shoots those shields, Crazyhalo threw in the reflex mode sound from Metal Gear Solid 5, it works perfectly for that whole scene.

To all the poeple talking about Chief that isn't him. That was Nicole, her spartan number is show on her chest at the end, N-458. Anyway really nice work honoring the Legendary Monty Oum.

@@gamma2589 Not really, it seems like that ONLY because of the content and stuff you watch and listen to on the internet, everything you see is tailored to your interests, so when somebody has one singular interest but a ton of different ones, they're less likely to see it, it wasn't everywhere, infact I only knew about it in 2016, I just assumed he left or got fired.

I'm a 3D artist today, and I can definitely tell that watching this on high school was one of the main factors that drove me through choosing my career. Mounty shaped a generation of artists with love and proud of what they do. I cannot say anything bad about your take, because any tribute to a person that inspired many of us back in the day, is a truly amazing and special thing. So, thank you a lot brother, for keeping his legacy alive, and for the effort on this tribute, which btw, had a great ending by not revealing Nicole's face! R.I.P Mounty Oum, Cheers!

Wow I remember this from my childhood ,its a masterpiece remastered. And for those who are confused ,that spartan was Nicole-458 AND Is canon that she used that armor ,and in fact she tested the same Mjolnir mark VI that masterchief (john) wears in halo 2 and 3

I agree. It’s almost too much for me though. It’s like that Halo Legends TV show horse crap. It’s too fast and irrelative to the game lore and mechanics. And I noticed in the credits they called it the Mk IV suit instead of Mk VI. I know I’m kinda harsh but I still like it. Kinda salty that Nicole didn’t blast Samus to oblivion.

TBH I'd complain if it wasn't done so well. This is what halo should be in cutscenes. Spartans are legends on the battlefield so much so that theres internal conflict cannonically in the UNSC where ODST actually hate Spartans. To me this shows the gap that the games should be showing between what it means to be a one man army and being still human.

Facundo Centeno Nicole-458 was a character featured in the Dead Or Alive games. She was made by Ninja Theory as a sort of tribute to Halo and Bungie. As thanks, Halo 3 had the Hayabusa armor based off Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.

Gonna be amazing man! Really loved what was shown before, can't wait to see what the final project turns into! Monty would be proud! Edit (feedback): Overall the quality and production is top notch, it looks seriously well done. Particles, VFX, pretty much everything visual looks amazingly done. The big gripe is with animation in parts throughout the video, some of it looked "stiff" or "inanimate". Some area's looked to be a bit rushed on the animation side of things too. I'm not trying to discredit the animator/animators, but there could be improvements in places that look stiff. (mainly towards the end and the middle). Overall, nicely done man! 8/10

Eh,my boggets complaint was some scenes were a tad too fast...(you almost miss the shotgun through the elite...), there were some glitches like an elite head sliced off but Samus blade didn't do it, and finally...the beam saber...was more of a beam flag..

@@Noobymanfire including halo 5? from what i remember, the original MCC didn't have halo 5. I haven't seen any news of halo 5 being added to MCC 2.0 and instead have only received news of Reach being added.

@@Soron661 Technically you can play Custom MP on Forge for Win10 but right now that's about it, but with 343 really engaging with the community I could see H5 fully coming to PC before Infinite comes out, since H5 already runs on PC anyway, and Infinite might be a Next-gen launch game if the rumors about next-gen being 2020 are true.

Spartan "N-458" (the number on her armour) is part of non-canonical Halo, her name is Nicole and her Spartan number is 458. Samus is the badass space mercenary from the Metroid series. We all know her. So since both are girls, and like the other person said that Monty liked girls that like girls, the animation had some lesbian suggestion.

My lord. Congrats to setting out to do this- and actually finishing it. I graduated with a bachelors in Media Arts and Animation a little over a year ago, and I understand how much goes into this. Just the idea of recreating Haloid scares me to death when I look at how much time and effort it would take. Mad props to you sir.

Monty's work was one of the big reasons I wanted to get into animation. While that never worked out it definitely led to me appreciating animation in general especially in fighting games.

@DragonKoal The part that was a ton of fun and silly? Yes it is inaccurate. But so is This spartan flying around doing matrix moves. I could have said something about the sexy fem spartan in the original too but I think the dance off is much more entertaining. So my 1 point off still stands mister.

Seeing two of my Top-5 Favorite Franchises clash like this is amazing. Well, technically, three, if you count the Lightsaber blade on the Stun Pistol. To see it Remastered from the one I saw years ago is something else. Thank you for this.
