Actually my first watch after having this video in my recommended for two years but never watching it because I wasn’t interested in Dark Souls until recently.
The funniest thing to me in this, is my latest DS2 run with some friends. Long story short: we entered the chariot boss fight +1 for a ring somewhat underleveled, so fighting the necromancers wasn't that easy as usual. So, with some bad timing, there were 3 of us near this gap-thin, and as Happy Souls tells: there were not enough space for 3 people... Let's just say that the rest of the boss fight we just loled like insane, quoting this scene over and over
about 7 years ago, i watched this video and it progressively led into my current belovedness of the Souls series and Soulslikes as a whole today, i rewatched it and got 90% of the jokes i missed back then, such as the Castle Crashers style map and 'MaatiMovie', and recognised so much more than i did as a novice to the game series that long ago god bless you jameserton, i hope this video eventually reaches the full 1M likes it deserves 💙
@@Jameserton oh, I'm absolutely delighted to hear back from you! 7 years really does feel like it's gone by so soon, but i know that I'll enjoy it slowly in the future and i hope that you do what makes you happy in the future too! sincerely, thank you so much for becoming part of my modern identity and personal history: i truly hope that the knowledge that you have inspired many will comfort you whenever you need it
"BOSS WEAPOOOOONS!" It fucking kills me EVERY TIME. Lmao. Probably because for me, it just feels like one of those things that's so funny because it's true. You tell me about boss weapons and I'm immediately like: "YO, WHERE?!"
@@Jerry-ob1un I think it's because it doesn't feel like a full Dark Souls game. I enjoyed myself but it felt strange. There were too many subpar bosses that I didn't remember fighting till I replayed it. The world felt far more separated than the first one. Instead of finding elevators and passages that linked everything together it was much more linear once you chose a direction from Majula. Again I enjoyed the game and will probably play it again some point but those are my guesses as to why.
god this video was leaps and bounds ahead of its time, even the animation style is so killer! hilarious work my man, truly a legendary video that any seasoned gamer can recall their favorite moment from.
After watching Happy Souls so many times, I finally decided to give a try to DS2. I already beat all souls games but was worried about the bad fame of this game. I didn't regret, was a very fun game to play even in 2023. Thanks for this animation or I would miss this game
@cloudykai That's actually something I never see people bring up. You can get spammed with videos just by liking a couple similar videos so the easiest way to stop it is just disliking a few videos even if you don't watch them.
@cloudykai There's actually a feature on RU-vid to "Stop recommending this channel" and to "Stop recommending videos like these". I also don't believe that the dislike button actually does anything. I'm pretty sure it increases engagement on the video though and causes it to be recommended more.
Honestly back here rewatching after some stupid mistakes ive done in life and this video helps me feel better. I might be in one of my lowest moments of my life up until now but thankfully this video makes me remember of the good times. This video is a bonfire to all a us a place to relax and calm down and feel safe everytime we come back to it. Thank you for this wonderful animation
Replaying SotfS and had to watch this now I'm done, it was like revisiting an old neighbourhood. My friend and I back in the day played through the game in elite knight and royal swordsman gear to happy souls it through, and still regularly quote things like "We RUN and we EXPLODE!" to the bemusement of all around us. Thanks for such a legendary animation for one of my all time favourite games!
Once again, I'm here, but now after playing Dark souls 2 and it's much more special. Thanks James for creating this, and for the references me and my friends do to each other all the time
Even if it is not the first time I watch it and leave a comment this video is still really awesome. But also it hits different today. This cartoon came out the same year and period when I met my best friend way back in 2016. A lot of our relationship were built within Dark Souls 2 and by extension this video. As far as I remember we were referencing many jokes from it. Even using GIF we made ourselves. But he sadly passed away last January, this year of 2024. We were talking every single day since we met so his irremediable absence leaves now a big hole in my heart and in my life. RIP my dear friend. Clearly you were a lifetime bro. I am missing you and I will miss you for a long time. And a lot of thanks to you, Jameserton. You never knew it but you brought closer our two souls with your work at the time. Somehow you became a part of who I was for him and who he was for me. So thank you again.
I’m back after a couple years this video is genuinely my safe haven I feel loved here for some odd reason it must be the nostalgia of those good ol days that has me coming back time and time again and again to this video to feel safe and forget about all my troubles on the daily.
@@ImpatientPlatypus ircc took him like 2 years to make this video in his free time and he is just now going through ER. If he ever does it don't expect it until like 3 more years lmao
@@eddieb1995 big mood!! It will ALWAYS be worth the wait to get another timeless masterpiece like this one. I always come back and rewatch whenever I think of it
To this day for every Dark souls 2 challenge/lore video you watch there is a 99% chance that they quote this video at least one time. Truly a timeless masterpiece of a video
this isn't your first time watching this, not your second, not even your third, you've come back to this video time and time again. That's how perfect this animation is, admit it.
In the middle of Elden Ring, an NPC told me someone stole something of theirs and said they were "right down the road". So here I am watching this masterpiece for the 10th time since I discovered it.
@@ebm4205 you know that area with some sort of a sand twirly thing(filled with mages and other stuff )shes there somewhere. Its been awhile since I played so my Explaination might not be perfect
Here is a link but when you spawn in you want to kill the mage and then drop down on the right side and a passage way should lead you there! Good luck darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Weaponsmith+Ornifex
This is what we call a fucking legend. Makes a single Dark Souls video that marks the community forever, before vanishing and probably never making content about the series again, leaving us with this masterpiece and the hope to one day see something like Happy Ring or something like that.
Having watched this countless times without playing ds2 before, I found that my blind run has been pretty funny. I recognise all these moments when they come up. Just replace "holy sh-" to "hey that's the gu-" when the pursuer arrived.
New Player: So why did they nerf miracles? Veteran: See how that lightning spear killed that old knight in one hit? New Player: Yeah... Veteran: They have high lightning resistance New Player: Oh
This and the Pruld's videos are what I showed my wife when we first began dating to get her interested in Darks Souls, now Dark Souls 3 is proudly her favorite game. Thanks buddies
I've started playing DS2 this week and finally understood the "right down the road" joke. This asshole bird's house isn't right down the road it's two entire areas later and his house is in a place crawling with spider mages and an NPC invader with two crossbow with some kind of giant sand trap in the middle of all of this shit.
7. Years. Holy damn do the times fly by. When i first watched this all that time ago, i had never heard of Dark Souls at all. Next thing I knew, I was suffering through Blightown, admiring the warmth of Majula, and exploring Lothric. This masterpiece opened my eyes to the Souls genre, and is still as entertaining and funny to this very day
