Hey Jim, another great video the finish on those tarantulas is amazing. I can honestly say that I've never really wanted to go down the rabbit hole of 3d printing I think resin casting, my forge and woodturning are enough for me lol. Saying that there is something somewhat mesmerising about your videos I really enjoy watching them and I've come to the conclusion that for all things 3d printing I'll live vicariously through you 😀 keep it up mate and looking forward to what you come up with next.

Hi Dave, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment mate, I appreciate your support. Yes 3D printing is certainly a rabbit hole, I think it is the 3D design aspect that has really got me hooked. It is great that I can create something on my iPad just about anywhere with no mess or noise and then magically transform into reality, oddly satisfying.

@@JimsonMakes I bet mate I must say I’m really intrigued by the resin printer I’ve seen people use them in the past but never really grasped how they work but you explain it really well. I can see the the fascination in using them. I loved the articulated face huggers you made they were very cool. Do you see much difference between a standard printer and the resin one in terms of quality of finish and also how do they stack up in terms of cost to buy and use? I think that would make an interesting video to see you do a comparison between the two.

@@DaveGDesigns resin printers are certainly the best for a fine surface and detail. The water washable resin certainly brings down the running costs, especially if you can find the resin for a good price. I will probably make a comparison video as you suggest.

what settings have you got it at, as I'm finding my prints are really tacky after they have been printed

Prints are usually tacky immediately after printing but after thorough washing and a final UV curing they should not be tacky regardless of settings

I printed them hollow with lots of supports both internal and external. Don’t forget to add drain holes, these can be placed in hidden places. My skull model is free to download on Creality Cloud, there should be a link in the description. Many thanks for watching
