+Inkling December 25th was when Romans celebrated the sun and the sun god, but Christians claimed that date as the day Jesus was born, even though nobody really knows what day he really was born on.
no but the more you listen to this song the better it gets for real (not that I've listened to this song at least once a day for the last 8 months that would be crazy omg)
"We'll be lacing the same shoes, that we've worn through, to the bottom of the line" is just my favourite lyric from any song ever and I'm not even exaggerating. Such incredible lyricism.
I can just imagine, friends driving with the windows down and the wind in their hair. They're going cross-country. They've been best friends forever, and will be forever. This song is playing, and they're in the middle of the desert. Ahhh.... thats a dream
Lana del rey, Florence and The Machine, Lorde, Halsey, Tove Lo, Kiesza, Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira, Lykke Li, Ryn Weaver, Banks, Melanie Martinez, Ellie Goulding, Marina and The Diamonds, and all this female artists brings back to my mind the 90's Feminist Wave......
feminist? na bro. real woman don't go all defacto they stick by a strong man because they strong individual, same reason strong men search for strong women, or for that matter look into the animal kingdom.
+King Killa Real women aren't just defined by their relationships. Real people aren't defined by their relationships to others. Real people are strong in their own ways.
I'm just going to sit here and cry my heart out, she deserves every like, I hope she never feels unhappy about her work, it's truly art and it's hard to find artist's like her
You know that part in Perks Of Being A Walflower where Charlie and Sam drive into the tunnel that leads into the city while standing up through the sun roof? The tunnel song. That's just the part of the movie where all their problems go away and they become free. This is the song I'd play.
@@vollmilchbaum6873 is it THAT necessary for you to compare both songs? Stop creating unnecessary drama. Both songs are good. Respect people's personal preferences, you keyboard warrior.
whenever i hear this song i imagine a school morning being picked up by my partner and as we're driving we make the sudden decision to ditch school and escape to the city. we end up holding hands, visiting the museum, taking photos on old film, and getting lost in each others eyes while eating dinner. this song takes me to a different life.
Do you remember the taste of my lips that night I stole a bit of my mothers perfume Cause I remember when my father put his fist through The wall that separated the dining And I remember the fear in your eyes The very first time we snuck into the city pool Late December with my heart in my chest and the clouds out of my breath Didn't know where we were running to But don't look back We'll be looking for sunlight Or the headlights Till our wide eyes burn blind We'll be listening to same tunes That we're going through To the bottom of the line And we know that we're headstrong And our heart's gone And the timing's never right But for now let's go away On a Roman Holiday Could you imagine the taste of your lips If we never tried to kiss on the drive to Queen's Cause I imagine the weight of your ribs If you lied between my hips in the backseat I imagine the tears in your eyes The very first night I'll sleep without you And when it happens I'll be miles away And a few months late
Didn't know where I was running to But I won't look back We'll be looking for sunlight Or the headlights Till our wide eyes burn blind We'll be listening to same tunes That we're going through To the bottom of the line And we know that we're headstrong And our heart's gone And the timing's never right But for know lets get away On a roman holiday Feet first don't fall We'll be running again Keep close, stand tall We'll be looking for sunlight Or the headlights Till our wide eyes burn blind We'll be listening to same tunes That we're going through To the bottom of the line And we know that we're headstrong And our heart's gone And the timing's never right But for know lets get away On a roman holiday

It's been 5 years since I became a stan of her, but I never left a comment at her songs. I just want to say that I love this song more than I thought, and I will definitely play this song in my funeral. Every time I listen to this, I cry so aloud in my mind. If I tell someone that Halsey's Roman Holiday is my favorite song, I see that person as one of my best friends. A few months ago, I listened to Webster Hall live version with headphones in my room while my roommates were all sleeping. It was 3 a.m.. I never felt so empty but fulfilled at the same time. Something just punched me at my face, tearing my heart into pieces. I cried soundlessly and emotionally, trying to make my heart a whole. I did, and then I felt so peaceful, stronger than ever. Sometimes I struggle, feeling lost, I come back here to find myself, the one who always cries at this song but also feels something powerful from it. Roman Holiday is the reason why I love Halsey to death.
This albums kinda throwin me off. Like one moment Halsey's like "murder, I am a machine. edgy!" and then it's like "let's go hang out! Let's go on a roadtrip! Typical pop stuff!"
+RainAngel111 the album is a concept album, the start is supposed to be more rough and gritty bc its supposed to be living in the badlands, then the middle is her making the decision to leave, and the end is her finally being free (making it more poppy and dreamlike).
So many people in the comments are talking about how Halsey would get real famous and about how they knew her so long ago. But TBH where I live, absolutely NO ONE knows her. I got to know her because of virtual friends on an app(that I quit a while ago). I used to hate her for no reason(dislike, no actual hate). But now that I'm starting to really listen to her and get to know her, I realize that she's way better than many artists. Look at Selena, look Taylor, Miley, Demi, Katy; all of those are KNOWN artists. And everyone has a talent, no doubt, but these girls that are being hidden like Halsey, Melanie, Cher Lloyd; these girls have REAL TALENT. That's what music has to be made out of!
What the comment before meant is that what do you mean when you say "So many people in the comments.." Like it doesn't really add to what you say after about your town or the artists lol basically random.
THIS song should've gotten more press. Released as a single. I'm the kind of person who can listen to an album (before any singles are released) and pull out every single "hit" (I'm not bragging, but I'm literally never wrong). This is better than "Ghost," "New Americana," and "Castle."
@@74IP i’m pretty sure it was going to be a single. when music videos are created for albums, sometimes they will reference song titles from the album, most of the times those referenced songs being singles. in the Colours MV, halfway through there is a poster on the wall with “Drive” on it. idk, might be over analyzing.

I love the new generation of singers, so many new and amazing people are coming to fruition, Halsey, Melanie Martinez, Troye sivan, Alessia Cara, Tori Kelly, etc. I've always felt that the music world was restricted to very mainstream artists and the other channels were just there never really growing, just pretending to. But now I see clearly that the new generation is here
Its so funny that the same people who listen to Halsey listen to Troye Sivan and Alessia Cara and Melanie Martinez, its like you listen to one song by either of these artists and your entire playlist changes.
I'm in a long distance relationship but whenever I listen to this song, it feels like they're holding me in their arms, it's comforting. Thanks for helping me get through the time we don't see each other
I don't know why... But your music effects me. I don't know why, but... whenever I want to read a story, I always get the urge to listen to your music. Thank you for being in this world. Sincerely, a new fan. - Lea
I just wanna dance in a big, dark room with HALSEY's music playing as loud as possible, all alone. for that time I'm dancing so freely, I can let all my demons go and just enjoy the music. that would be perfect.
I just found out about halsey awhile ago but mainly just listened to control and colors but this is my new favorite (mainly cause it's joshs favorite) but it's really good
At first when I found Halsey, I only listened to Gasoline… Then I found Hurricane… And Colors. Then Colors pt II... Then I found Castle, Haunting, Control. God damn I always skipped this, I walk the line, and Coming down. Then I one day I found myself singing along to the chorus of them. Then I listened to the whole album. Then room 93. Then unreleased songs and omfg I am so happy I did that. I love Halsey 😭❤️❤️
I remember stumbling across this album *RANDOMLY.* I listen to hip-hop, rap, etc. But this album when I heard it years back was just hittin *DIFFERENT.* Her other albums, idk but this album here was just simply amazing.
this song describes me so well, i have planned runaway with my best friend(and lover) in May 30, and omgggg i swear that i'll put this song while leaving the city
Vivi Bubbles no its just the title is 'Roman Holiday' and my friend told me this joke the whole day and I just kinda had to comment it. It's totally irrelevant but yeah
this is my favorite song from the badlands album... and after watching the 1953 movie Roman Holiday, listening to this just became a lot more meaningful to me.. like i feel all kinds of emotion and it's trying to combust my insides.. i suck at explaining but yeah.. that's how it is
I feel like the music video for this would be cool, if it's the way I picture it. Just like imagine Ashley driving and going on late night city adventures and have it look like a vlog in the middle of the night. Idk man I want something like that
