Hello Excellent demonstration. Every wood processor I reviewed uses almost perfect straight logs. I would love to see a demonstration of the real world with crocked trunks, limb knobs sticking out, and other non-perfect operations. I understand this is not the best sales tactic, but it is what I look for. Found one demo that stated a couple of hick ups and fixes.
I agree, the nice straight ones make for the best sales pitch! And just so there's no confusion, we are not trying to sell or promote these. We just purchased one. We have thrown some pretty ugly logs at it with mixed results. Logs that fork out, or have large branches still hanging off of them. Some of them would have made for an interesting video while others would have just involved a lot of climbing in and out of the skid steer trying to get things properly positioned.
appreciate the stick control button explanations; question- is the rate of seop/cut of the cutting bar adjustable? I have seen other videos and it cuts thru a lot faster than yours. Is it self adjusting as it gets dull? Thanks
That’s pretty impressive and definitely saves the back. How are you liking the Kubota skidsteer? I have CATs and Bobcats that I operate on my channel, but haven’t tried a Kubota yet.
Simi loads of mostly red oak. Processed about 40 cords so far. We have 2 chains. They are larger that what you would typical have on a chainsaw. Probably sharpened 4 or 5 times so far. There were a few logs all covered in mud that did a number on things but for the most part the chains last a while.
Hi Brad, very nice content. Could you please explain how you are using control buttons on your Kubota for wood processor control instead of control panel from Halverson? I know, that company is selling some control panel with few buttons, you reconnect them with skid steer and work. We are running Bobcat S300 with electric joisticks and after seeing your video I think we could sawe some money for control pannel from Halverson. And the other question... When you compare HWP 120 with HWP 140... Is HWP 120 enough for self and occasional bussiness wood processing? Pros/cons? Thank you for your answear
The Kubota dealership worked with the wood splitter company when wiring an adapter plug that worked with Kubota joysticks. I'm guessing if you have electronic buttons on the bobcat they should be able to wire them for that also. For what we have been doing the 120 has been working out fine. Not sure how it would compare up against the 140. As far as speed goes 120 seems plenty fast for us. Splitting about 3 semi loads of wood a season. One of the cons I've noticed running the 120 on the Kubota is it is hard to see the splitter end on the far right hand side without leaning forward in the seat. Thinking about making an adapter plate that would move the splitter about a foot forward and up about a foot. I would imagine on different machines the visibility would be a little bit different.
