Very interesting Sian. I live not far from Ham House and visited a little while ago with my husband. I knew nothing of its history even thought bought up in the area. My husband is a complete sceptic about ghosts paranormal etc. We started to climb the stairs and on the first half landing I stopped to look up and around me . My back was very close to the wall. There were hundreds of tourists milking about but at that point no one was on the stairs . I clearly felt there was something or someone standing behind me who touched me on the shoulder. The feeling was not pleasant and felt as if I was not wanted there. Without me saying anything my husband said that there was something deeply unpleasant in the feel of the house. We are not usually scared but both felt on leaving , huge relief to be put of there
My 7th great grandmother and her two brothers were born in this house her name is Mary Catherine Campbell I was hoping you would have a photo of her in the house or her mother or my 8 great grandfather Archibald Campbell
