▶︎▶︎ Mercedes is one of the hottest topics on the grid right now, with all the right reasons, as the Brackley-based squad managed to win two races in a row and be one of the teams with the most points scored in the past 6 weekends since Miami. However, the team doesn’t plan to stop here now that they’ve found what is truly wrong with their car, and with Hamilton ending the 2-year drought of not winning a race in his career, could the Silver Arrows be back on track and challenge the top teams for more wins this season? And more importantly, did Hamilton make the right decision by leaving Mercedes for Ferrari, as the cards have definitely switched now in mid-season development?

Agree, last race was because Max took out Lando and himself... This one was intermittent rain, if Lando had put on Mediums Hamilton might have struggled... Having said that Hamilton really won that race looking after his soft tyres..

Im a newer fan of F1, 2020 was the first season that I REALLY started watching.. AFter Max and LH banged it out in 2021 I was hooked.. But.. I thought I wanted to see Max smash LH every weekend lol.. Oh how I see my mistep now that it has gone that way. LH winning today felt right, I was really stoked to see him get the W. I learned we NEED another killer on the track to enjoy Max the way he should be appreciated.

I still think Mercedes doesn’t have the same straight line speed as the RedBull, but averaging it out over the track it does seem like they can be competitive, which is all Hamilton wanted, and needed, which is what he will get with Ferrari. I think he will elevate Ferrari regardless of his own results, this may be exactly what LeClair needs to push him to the top.

I think it will, tbh I don't think LeClerc and Sainz make a good pairing. Max is going to RIP the drivers championship this year unless RBR seriously drop off the cliff with development (and no, Perez does not count since he had his car chassis exchange for an older spec form after the Monaco crash - that, along with the tighter grid: 0.5s often splitting the top 10 for example...), which 99% chance ain't happening...

@nfpnone8248 Actually this season the Mercedes for the last 3 races has had the better top speed than the RB20 , it just couldn’t maintain it’s overall pace better than the RB throughout the stints., however since the inception of the new front wing the W15 has been a beast coming out of the corners something the W13-14 and early 15 struggled with..

Mercedes has finally taken the car in the direction of Hamilton he is better at modulating the car than Russel who wrestles the car too much which puts strain on the PU hence his problems yesterday. Hamilton did not make the wrong move he went because Wolff disrespected him with a paltry one-year contract. Ferrari's gain Hamilton will help improve that team...

It appears that it’s not all about the car but the driver . Perez is driving the same car as Max but is not consistent with wins and second places as Bottas when he was Hamilton’s teammate.

IF cars are very close, it's about the driver. Red Bull is way WAY ahead...2 more laps and they would have won this one as well with half the race having the 5-6th pace. Perez just can't focus anymore when he knows Max is so much better than him. Also suspect the team does not even care abut him that much cause the first car is so good, it can win both titles by itself so they just focus on that one. If they cared 10% about the 2nd car they would have sacked Perez a long time ago.

At this point RB isn’t in it for the constructors championship. Just the drivers. Obviously they’d love to win it, but max can’t float the whole team like he did last year. The other teams are too close and both driver consistently scoring point while Perez is P16

@@FormulaTodayF1 what race did you watch. He was faster than ham and lando on hards at the end. Qualy debatable because of his floor. Only the first stint they were slower. Austria they were outright fastest. Spain they were a little slower than mclaren in the race. Spain was the only race the werent the fastest

what do you think of this,, now that Lewis is leaving Mercedes and heading to ferrari, that Mercedes is actually listening to what Lewis is saying about how to "fix" the car and now the car is working a lot better, lewis was right, but they only did this so they can bait max to leave red bull and drive the now "fixed" Mercedes. mercedes will NOT win a championship with russel, and despite what russel thinks, mercedes know it. thats why toe toe wants max soooooo bad! lol

@@allanhughes7859 Hamilton was ahead of Russel on the road for the first round of pit stops and you normally pit the leading car first; especially if they are both on the same strategy. Russell wasn't quick enough in the damp conditions when it started raining - Hamilton and both McLarens passed him. If that is due to set up then that's on Russell; Russell had all the same information regarding weather as Hamilton. I think Russell is at least as quick as Hamilton but he needs to improve his consistency. He needs to convert his qualifying form into race results otherwise he'll never win a championship.

I believe in the ability and sheer perseverance that is the Mercedes-AMG F1 team. They have proven time and time again that when the going gets tough, they will find a way to still rise. If anything, now that they have experienced what was essentially rock bottom after their multi-year winning streak, they have no doubt learned so much to become an even stronger team. And with the cost cap in place, there is no doubt to their ability, as they have found ways to improve W15 with the resources they have. This team deserves recognition for all the hard work that is paying off.

I believe this. For two years they could not find a car to fit him. it was as if they did not want him to separate statistically from Schumacher and allow RB to dominate. Toto really loves Lewis but the lead technicians almost seem to disregard his input and go the opposite way of his suggestions in arrogance. Now that he is leaving they provide a car for him. It makes no sense as they were too good for a long time to fall that far down the grid before this year's recent success. But Toto is brilliant and could likely be in on the nonsense. Nevertheless, Lewis was robbed in 2021 and since then it has been a confederacy against him on many levels. A black man passing Schumacher is not what they wanted they would most definitely rather it be Verstappen!

Let us not forget Mercedes could so easily have had both cars out of the race when both cars went off the track. We've not been debriefed yet, but i would not be surprised if Russell picked up some damage when they went off. Had Russell not retired, he and Hamilton would have continued that duel, allowing Mclaren and Redbull to come back at them.

I just hope Kimi gets the second seat at MB. Max is only good if he has the best car. Senna, Prost, Hansel, Michael all managed to win with inferior cars. Not max, he will be a 4 time world champion, same as Prost. The guy does not have the most championships, pole positions, race wins. he's lucky Perez is his teammate.

Its nice to see several teams fighting at the front. The last two years has been boring! Im totally against LH going to the reds. History shows world champs fail with the reds.MSC excluded

It may not but it give and brings back hope to do even better!!! We’re happy for the wins Lewis brings on and we celebrate him even harder!! Haven’t you ever failed in life and had to work your way up ever?? If not one day it’ll happen because it always does, just pray that you have people cheering you to get up otherwise, like you…you may have people pushing you down to stay down and out!! Give people their flowers when they truly deserve them…it’s very humbling
