I sang/rapped Hamilton in this - it’s exciting for us in Army Voices to have all this positive response to a video from years ago! Does anyone else want to see us do more ‘Hamilton?’ 🇺🇸 If so, which pieces?
I know personally, I would love to see a medley similar but with pieces from Act 2 as a sort of sequel performance. Especially "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story" as the end piece.
Dude that sang Burr and Mulligan needs to get an invitation to try out for the actual musical. Either the Broadway, Chicago, or touring set. He has fun and performs.
This is my favourite version of Hamilton that hasn't been by the original cast. You can see that everyone loved and enjoyed the performance they gave which made it even better. This put a smile on my face.
They were so crisp and clear - every word enunciated. And in excellent, perfect rhythm. Would love to see them perform more Hamilton pieces - or why not the entire show? I bet they’d raise a ton of money by putting on their own production of Hamilton.
Everyone was killing it. [Burr/Hercules] was having do much fun. And was really good presence. [Hamilton] Truly gave off main character vibes, and made me want to get up out of bed. [Lafayette] deep voice mmmmmm. [Schyler sisters] Hell yeah, army women! [Ensemble] I love their poses, and their harmonies were tight.
Did everyone miss the fact Burr's comment that he killed Hamilton happened in 1809 and was scorned and a really bad guy? He killed Hamilton's son too. Jealousy. The happy dancing was a bit inappropriate to history.
Real people from the military rapping and singing about the life of people in the military and who helped to shape their country *ahh the fresh smell of amazing experiences*
Because this is a Historical Drama made to be sung in Rap at rapid speed. It would take six hours to play at this tempo. Burr was not a hero in history and there isn't any joyful singing with hip action. Hamilton wrote the Federalist papers, more than 50% percent, which which we use to this day. Burr was greatly disliked for cheating and killing him. There is no pre-history to this great singing, so no understanding.
@Eric Nyquist I saw the original on Broadway when it debuted, again in Seattle, and about a month ago via Disney+. Perhaps "production" was the wrong word. However, if I close my eyes and simply listen to the vocals (diction, clarity, range) and orchestra, I hear extremely high talent.
@@markt4416 high talent yes, but we're talking about different levels of mastery. No disrespect to this piece, it was amazing and they're really hard songs, but Broadway is another ballpark
This was a wonderful production selection for the US Military, it made me 😀 every time I pull myself out of the Hamilton hole fandom, another fantastic rendition pops up on my YT feed.
That was amazing!! Loved how on point they were. Would be incredible to stage the entire production cast with these excellent singers and others in the U.S. Armed Forces!
I am proud and moved to see so much talent from US Army members, of which I was a Viet Nam era member, singing and playing Hamilton, from a puertorrican like me, an anthem to the America that we all belongs to.
Excellent work! I’m just a random Hamilton fan led here by the RU-vid algorithm. I really appreciated the vocal diction and the ensemble work. At times, though, I felt the band was drowning out the vocals. Just a bit too heavy in the trumpets, perhaps. Overall, strong work. Would love to hear more!
Yeah, one of the trumpets got more than a little "blatty" at the end of "Schuyler Sisters". You would expect military musicians to show a little more tonal control than that.
This just happened to pop up in my feed today, I loved it! Everyone had so much fun and did such a great job! I'd love to see a King George/2nd half medley!!
Your energy is magnetic, and that rolls over to your talent! Bless you all for making me smile today! Fantastic performance! My best friend from childhood was killed in the line of duty in 2004. It still hurts. Performances like this (I grew up singing in choirs), truly bring joy into my heart. Stay healthy and keep on singing! Perhaps a song or two from "Newsies" (Seize the Day) or "The Greatest Showman" (From Now On) one day? Sending thanks!💜💚
angelica’s roles voice is amazing also if you ever do a second i’d love to see wl?wd?wtys? coming from a military family it would make me cry NAHSHFJFJ
This is one of the best renditions I have seen! These Ladies and Gentlemen are exceedingly talented and could join any of the Hamilton companies! Respect!
Ok I like the Army’s interest in Hamilton, but I have a suggestion. Some parts of this are sung/rapped too fast, let’s slow down “Alexander Hamilton” two, maybe three beats. Matter of fact slow it all down except for the part where Lafayette meets up with Alexander for the final part of the war.
The first song The man who did Burr’s part was amazing! The guy who did Hamilton wasn’t feeling the song vocally but his face said different. 😞 🤔 The chick that was in a male officer’s clothings was awesome!! Seriously.
I love how talented all these vets are and singing songs about the nation's origins. This truly makes me feel even more blessed to be an American. That being said, the line about immigrants getting the job done sung by (presumably) white people is everything.
Hey there! The U.S. Army Voices/U.S. Army Chorus are part of The United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own". We are professional musicians who have also taken the oath to be soldiers and to support the musical, ceremonial and diplomatic needs of the US Army. There is lots of information on military bands if you are still curious - and we will be celebrating our Centennial this year. Hope it helps!
