When using this machine I always have problems adjusting the hight to the proper position. It feels like i can't get my hands behind the bars because they're too close to me and I have to stand up then grab the bars and push the bars while sitting back down. Or I position myself under the bars doing decline insread of flat bench.
I used one for the first time today and understand what you're talking about. One guy in the gym has been using foam blocks between the levers and stops to raise the handles a bit, and when he lifts off the first lift, they drop on the floor and he's good to go with his set. It's a good design except for that, though. I got a really good powerful effect right in the pecs that neither dumbells or barbells provide.
I still wonder why unlike other machines why the path of machine is slightly vertical compared to other chest press machines where its a straight path from the chest.
