More epic cheese burgers! I need to try making those. Enjoyed this film Michael thanks. Bacon sandwich is brown sauce all day long but will try with both !
I was out last weekend enjoying nature! You're a man after my own heart, burgers, bacon, Stellas! I also like my hammock camping and now subscribed to your channel. Great vids I've seen so far 👌
Great video. That was some wild and wooly weather out there, glad that you got out OK and didn't end up dumped out of the hammock into a river! Keep up the great content 🙂
100 percent brown sauce! I always take some foil or small butty bags and I'll squirt a bit in and wrap it same with butter. The burgers looked great. Think I'll have bacon next time and leave the porridge pot behind! I can't remember the last time it's not been noodles in a pot for you..
Yeah had a camp about two months back in the same place and had burgers as well. Cant beat a bacon butty too for breakfast. Definitely gonna start trying to do some more real cooking. It's just having time beforehand to get organised 🙄😂👍
Great to see you out 👊👊👍👌 burgers looked pucker. Love both brown and tomato sauce but really fancy a treat then it’s either barbecue sauce or salad cream ❤️
Great video and weather looked/soubded rough. Cracking spot for a hammock camp, but if I'm honest I would of kipped in the shelter. Burgers looked banging, great choice of cheese. ATB Dan 👍 👍 👍 👍
Cheers dan. I don't think there's enough room under it plus the roof was partially falling in. That and I didn't have the equipment to sleep on the floor. Got a fairly good kip in that hammock though. Defo one of the best sleeps I ever get in that 👌
@NoviceWildCamper in them windy conditions it probably rocked you to sleep.🤣🤣🤣 Definitely mayo for me on my bacon butty.but I would of probably had some of that cheese on my bacon butty. Again brilliant video really enjoyed it
I love red sauce. Luckily for me, quite a lot of cafes keep red sauce sachets prisoner in little cups on the tables. I cant save them all. I'm no hero. But i do try to rescue a few and show them a good time by taking them camping. They seem very grateful.
Not really enough room plus I'd need a bivvy really. And on top of that it had got hit by a tree and one of the major supports snapped so wouldn't fancy my chances 🤣 it is a great spot though. There's another bigger one further up I'll try next time 👍
Great camp, sounds cosy with the wind and rain and those burgers looked delicious! I prefer ketchup on a bacon sarnie but it has to be HP if it's bacon and egg, I like to know if there's blood, don't ask 🤣
@@NoviceWildCamper I cut a poached egg open once and there was red in the yolk, ketchup would disguise that 😦 I'm in the mood for one more camp now, best hobby ever! Looking forward to your next one 👍
As an uncultured American, I'd have to defer to you on both the bacon (it looks very different from ours) and the red and brown sauces, as i don't know what either are 😂 I've recently gotten into hammock camping, and you're right about all that gear. The hammock itself isn't so bad, but add in the tarp and it's pitching hardware, the underquilt, and tree straps, it gets bulky real quick. One saving grace, unless I'm going with others i just leave the chair home and sit in the hammock. My pack is around 4 pounds (or 2kg I guess) heavier than when tenting, but it's so much more comfortable.
Yes American bacon is nothing like uk bacon and I had a fair amount of yours on a cruise earlier this year with pancakes every morning 🤣 red sauce is Ketchup and brown..... well I don't know how to describe as I'm not sure but I think A1 in amercia? It's a spicy brown sauce that we put on meaty breakfast or bacon sandwiches and I think in America more on steak. And I agree, a little more weight is well worth the comfort. Plus I don't generally walk as far when hammock camping so doesn't really cause me an issue but I just love being under a tarp looking out from a swinging hammock whatever the weather 👍👌
Your issue with the tarp, I wonder if you stored the tarp in Hennessy hammock "snake skins" so that you could at least get the tree lines connected before pulling back the skins. Have thought about getting these for my tarp and maybe for my hammock.
Ive actually got a onewind snakeskin around my onewind tarp and yes its way easier. Didnt think about getting another one for the Amok tarp, good idea 👍
Chees Gary. I'd have used my onewind tarp if I had the Haven so maybe slightly easier as I have it in a snakeskin but in that wind and at night I think any tarp would have been a nightmare 👍
No they've been there years. A friend of mine goes there a lot and is always working on it and improving it. Handy spot though specially in that weather 👍
By brown sauce I'm presuming you mean HP sauce? The brown sauce we use in Australia we typically call barbeque sauce and is sweeter than tomato sauce. I prefer bbq sauce with a bacon roll, might have to consider your red/brown mix also 😋
That why you need a tarp sleeve and have your line wrapped around your pegs then you take out one peg at a time and hold the end drop the peg it in Ravel's and tie it out even on hight ind it's easy to do also a bit of reflective tape self advise on each pull out help you to see what ones to pull and and peg hope this help please take this as friendly advise 😂 great vesio tho
Obviously a fellow gourmet, one cannot use any old bun for a burger, one requires a brioche bun! You might have noticed I'm binge watching a few of your vids - it's a Sunday afternoon, I refuse to have a TV license and Swindon Town played yesterday so no excuse to leave my flat, hence looking for tent reviews and wild camping vids on youtube!
Brown sauce with bacon or sausage, and tomato sauce wit fried egg roll. How about home made baked beans (haricot/cannellini etc.) With a dash of vodka, papriks amd tabasco.....
Now that sounds a bit painful for me, specially for breakfast 🤣 tbh I often go without breakfast. Not a big fan of them but occasionally I love a full English 👍
You're most welcome to stay at Château Ala Gez anytime, Mike. Glad you liked the romantic lights I left for you ❤ 😀 I wonder if your clients would buy more or less off you if they knew you slept in a woods on your way home 😂. I'm a no sauce guy to be honest, just love the taste of meat
Love the channel mate but have to disagree on the comment “you have to bring more gear hammock camping “ one of the reasons I hammock camp is because of how much room I have for other gear especially when bike camping even with the under quilt
I suppose it depends on your set up. The Amok is a big hammock (plus it's xl version) and then the tarp on top plus the sleeping pad that fits it is easily more than double the size of my usual tent one. If I use the durston x mid its the size of the just the tarp on it's own so considerably smaller. 👍
Just red or brown? If only the choice was so simple. In our house, for bacon alone there's calls for mayo, chili (Siracha, Chipotle, Linghams), mustards (Colemans, Dijon), occasionaly various chutneys and even a splash of exotic vinegars. 😳
Never slept in a hammock, mainly because I get a lot of lower back pain and actually prefer sleeping in a tent on the floor to sleeping in my bed...don't tell the wife😮 . Anyway, would a hammock make a bad back worse in your opinion. Burgers looked bloody good btw😊
I think it really depends on the specifics of your back pain. I've recently switched to hammocks from tents because for me the hammock is far more comfortable. I've got pretty chronic lower back pain, and aside from being much easier to get out of a hammock than getting up off the ground, I actually wake up feeling better than I do in my own bed. But I've heard some people say that their back can't tolerate a hammock. Some of it may be the gear (hammock too short, not wide enough for a flat (diagonal) lay, or perhaps hung with a bad sag (no structural ridgeline, or whatever). And some of it may be how the bad back works.
I actually have two collapsed discs in my lower spine and get a real bad back at times. So far I've had zero issues with back problems when hammocking yet have occasionally in a tent. Plus, you could get yourself an Amok or Haven Hammock which are totally flat lay and seriously the best sleep I've ever had camping. Not cheap but you can't put a price on comfort and a good night's sleep 👍
