The Storm Shield is a slide over slide off cover for hammocks that gives all around protection without the need to use stakes or guy lines. It allows the cover to be stored at the foot of the hammock and pulled over in seconds. The Storm Shield is designed to work with all our ponchos in their hammock mode. It is cut generous enough to allow use of under quilts.

Nice innovation Perry! Add some tie outs and this could be a great emergency “storm shield” shelter for ground dwellers as well.

Sounds great! I actually started using this on the ground in the 1980’s, that’s where I got the ideas for a simple shelter. When I got into the hammock thing, I adapted it for that purpose as well. I have some videos 3 or 4 years ago using it on the ground in winter camping.

Lovin' the concept of that sliding bug net and storm shield. Very nice product there Perry. I'd vote for the ends to have the same gathering/cordage as the poncho/hammocks. It's already a great design that's proven.

Ive been carrying my ridgeline in one of the sleeves that the quick connect is in. At least that way i never forget it. Also do you get much condensation when using your stormsheild? Just wondering if im doing something wrong?

I don’t usually get much myself, if I draw the head end up a lot then I get some, not usually too bad. Normally I leave the head open as much as I can. Also in this series of videos I’m showing how you can open the foot end, and I show some shock corded tent tubes that insert into the hem of the Storm Shield. Both of these give more ventilation when you need it.
