Everyday when I get up I start losing hope because of this society. But man, when I start listening to Hammock and Reading all the comments about his music and our lives, I can get that I'm not alone and there are people with feelings as well. Thanks to all of you.
Hi Fabio I know exactly how you feel, it is indeed a battle, this existence . If you are feeling brave get your hands on a little book called "the Thief in the night" by William Sears. It might blow your mind or it may not.
I discovered this band about 16 years ago. They were the first Post Rock band I listened to and they are the band I measure all other Post Rock bands to; Hammock IS Post Rock...
I wonder why this music makes me think of the final moments in life. But in a good way. It makes me think of how it's like to move on. Leave behind all worries and all sadness. The music contains such melancholy but also so much hope. It's wistful.
This song is just so beautiful. With everything going on our daily lives, going to work, sitting in traffic, politics, and much more, this song just takes me to a place where I forget all of that, and realize that we are just tiny creatures on a tiny planet, in a tiny solar system, in a tiny galaxy, in a vast and endless universe, and everything that goes on in our lives is so infinitely insignificant to the rest of the universe. It's beautiful.
Stop It, Get Some Help We are so small. It's insane. But nothing is ever intimately small enough. We can't get to 0 by dividing. So everything probably never stops getting smaller. On the larger scale nothing stops getting bigger either.
Yes indeed Mike H, perspective is a beautiful thing. Have a listen to Tripzville track "Point Zero" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qKdGEiCL_Kk.html .NOT AS BEAUTIFUL AND MELANCHOLIC AS THE AMAZING HAMMOCK ,BUT WE KEEP TRYING.
You are mistaken! You are talking about material size and volume here. It doesnt matter and its not relevant. What goes on in our lives is important because it affects us and we value someone and something and that is what is most meaningful to us and it is not related to or dependent on how big or small some planet or galaxy is. You are talking about two different things here that are of different nature.
this song paired with this video is so metaphoric and poetic. As you can see the girl embrace the light the darkness of her past still lingers...but as she raises her hands to the light and let's herself get lost in its all consuming luminosity, the darkness slowly drifts away from her sight, for she holds to it no more. I see this particular darkness as an example through the cat ironically, because though it lingers near her it doesn't bother her, for she is too busy allowing herself to feel the sunshine, and live in the moment, and be grateful for the little she has
I enjoyed reading your interpretation. I too analyze the videos that accompany Hammock's music and I believe your interpretation of this one is perfect.
What can the love in my soul be compared to another wonderful soul which is so far and yet so close of myself? What can this symbiosis between two souls be? Such a love that you cannot sleep at night, that every drop of dew becomes a crystal in your heart, when every breeze of wind now has magical meanings. Such a love that when you feel that you want nothing more in this world than to be with the soul you love; one another.
Think of how powerful music is. You can't touch it, see it or hold it. Yet it can permeate every part of our being and transform us as well as transport us to any and all the worlds we can imagine. Hammock thanks for the ride!
I feel at loss when the light sets each day, as if tomorrow may never come, despondent with past woes and regrets. So I sleep so my soul can gain wisdom from the deep and beseech forgiveness for wrongs forgotten but that my body remembers. And when I awake, I feel the warmth yet again! Elated I am, grateful for another opportunity to right my wrongs and be the light I always wanted to receive...to others...to the world ❤
Try giving 'North' & 'West' & 'The House Where We Grew Up' & 'Mono No Aware' & 'Tornado Warning' all by Hammock a listen when u have time. Tell me what u think.
saco516 I simply stated the songs i liked, then if they heard these they would want to hear more. But yes all songs are perfect in their own way. A different emotion for each one.
New Zealand ambient/post rock band Tripzville, "Point Zero " ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qKdGEiCL_Kk.html with the perfect messages of hope for today.
A friend noticed I had been listening to a lot of Hammock and asked how my depression was treating me, lol. I can see it; peaceful, meditative, haunting, dreamlike, but sad to the point of draining whilst somehow still managing to be blissful. Thats how I would sum up a lot of Hammock's music.
+Jose Manuel Gonzalez Melendez Rainy night and coffee in Costa Rica! I transposing there :) I can feel the fresh smell of the rain, awesome ! Saludos amigo
i used to hate...lot of things...hammock taught me how to just live in your own world..now i have my own world...i go out..meet people..i dont like them..but i am happy that after every day i can come back home...listen to hammock and just lie down..my world...they say you need people to be happy..but all people have given me is rejection and sadness...creating your own world..i think thats what is needed for peace..
Music is something more magical than we give it credit for. We can't see it, but we can feel it. Feel it in ways nothing else makes us feel. A simple song without lyrics can make a bad day more content, can make a bad memory a healed one. I'd like to think that music is the language of the soul, and that in the afterlife music will be a larger part of our afterlife existence then we can ever hope to realize.
This song penetrates deep into the chambers of my heart. swells my soul with joy and makes me wish i could pass on this feeling to the rest of the world. .....
Its always emotionally tough listening to Hammock at the best of times, and this is most definitely not the best of times my unknown friends . Universal blessings from New Zealand to every single one of you. TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER
God, no words in any way can tell how much I love this song. I've found it years ago, yet, it's still as beauteous as it were. And I believe it will always be. Thank you for making this, thank you, and thank you again.
It's that girl again (Jessica). But also, what a fabulous blend of silhouette, blinding sunshine, music and perhaps...innocence, this video has. Finger on the pulse, perfectly.
@@christophermaguire5511 Hello Christopher I hope life is treating you well. Passing by to listen to this beautiful song again . Music like this brings us closer to the source and bands like Hammock seem to be in touch with this higher unknowable force . We our still creating new music and doing our little bit to try and shine some light in these twisted and challenging times. UNITY IN DIVERSITY, TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER.
I think who wrote this song was a great genius! , in general the Ambient music is a pure creation of genius, and took a lot of energy effort snd huge strong emotions , to make such as this one, my God this is s beautiful master piece...
Hammock Your music not only inspire but your music give new broad visions to human, where all are combined with each other. And we are the children of The One Supreme God. It's now time to go beyond this flesh and this matterly world, and reach to ultimate truth that who we are and from where we came from,? We are all pure divine souls, that is a pure divine energy coming from that supreme abode. Where we are full of light and in our light embodiment. We forgotten ourselves and we accepted this falsehood that we are body. We are light beyond this material, and we have to make this world full of pure light, by knowing that Supreme ❤🌼🙏🙂
I have been a fan for years. The complexity of the weaving of sound in its production leaves me in awe of the detail and thought process involved. It takes one mentally to a different plain of process. Its focus music for me. It prods my mind when I am working problems or writing. It produces an energy within me to dig deeper into my own thought process. Oblivian Hymns is a favorite.
But then if there were only beauty in this world, we wouldn't appreciate beauty anymore. There wouldn't be musicians like Hammock to bring the beauty out and we wouldn't be here listening to this and feel so damn good.
It's hard to believe that such beauty like this can exist in our sickening world of violence and greed. This type of beauty gives me hope for humanity. If only a world existed where only beauty was present..
I'm so happy they did a sequence with this video and a couple more. It really shows how cohesive their songs are. Also, this being my all time favorite song, makes it perfect.
We tried the best to find what we have in common, But what we do now find what we don't have. It hurts me when you wanted to end this. I want us to be the same as before. How we loved each other.
I think this is an extended sequence from the scene around 1:00 in their Tape Recorder video...which is kind of amazing, their music always feels like looking at your life from a different angle
